A Tale of Two Cities

Zell stopped short, "Why would it be coming here?" Zell asked, "Why would it?" Zell let out a long, audible sigh, "I came here in the hopes of avoiding undue danger... if I knew you were going to be constantly attacked by... things I would have stayed home." Zell said, running a hand through her hair, and bouncing her left heel, slightly annoyed.

Vera<Yes. Just be ready to mobilize.>

*She hangs up.*

L"I do not know. I just sense its purpose."

*Thiera goes over to the wall & opens the elevator. Lilith follows her.*

*She hangs up.*

Zell sees them leave and grits her teeth. "Yes, just leave me here after saying that there is a Megadeus coming to this very spot, presumably to destroy it..." She mumbled to herself. With another sigh, she followed Lilith, at least in a Megadeus of her own she would have a fighting chance.

*The phone rings again soon afterwards.*

*Soon after they reach the basement, the whole place shakes violently.*

L"The dome is under attack."

*She answers.*

Zell casually walked over to Mirror Zero and let out a long sigh, "So, here we are again..."

Vera<We've confirmed zat ze Megadeus iz attacking ze domes. Move out and counter it immediately. We will zend ze Megadeus to ze site.>

*The 3 Megadei emerge on street level in time to see the false sky shatter, pieces of the dome raining down & crushing buildings. They catch a glimpse of Big Duo flying past the hole.*

"Well, that doesn't look good."

"Understood."

*She hangs up and heads out for the site.*

Luna cautiously stepped over to the burning wreckage of Rozenkruez. Even a dying tiger can still bite, so she'd have to be careful.

She made her way over to the cockpit and looked inside.

*To do that, she'd have to crawl up rubble & flames.*

*Outside of the dome, the streets open up & Kanrei Tsuki emerges. Its armor has been hastily patched up, & its weapons are still partially melted. Big Duo dropkicks through the top of the dome.*

*The whole gets much larger. Amidst the falling wreckage, Big Duo lands, its rockets ceasing, propellers returning to hands, & arms rotating to a basic human stance.*

Schwarzwald{Did you miss me...here under your false sky?}

T{You? Tell me something...are you Michael Seebach?}

S{I used to be known by that name, yes.}

T{Then tell me...what in the world is going on, here?!}

S{Payback! That's all you need to know!}

*Hitomi boards the Megadeus and enters the dome.*

Fine, Luna went back to her own Megadeus and radio'd Rozenkreuz.
"Anybody alive?"

*No one answers.*

*Inside, Hitomi sees the scene & picks up the broadcast above.*

Luna marched right over to Rozenkreuz, and by use of a spade that was lying 'round the dock, began shoveling shit out of the way to get to the cockpit.

*Kanrei Tsuki continues to advance, what's left of its rifle at the ready.*

"Wait, I have a question too." Zell said, "What did you mean about me before? You said I was a tomato... or... something."

*A paramedic grabs her shoulder.*

<Ma'am, we're gonna have to ask you to step out of the way.>

S{Those eyes...they signify that you aren't the original, but rather, a memory of her.}

Zell reeled back, "What do you mean 'original'?! I'm no memory, I'm... me!" Zell replied angrily.

S{I've said enough. Now it's time for the second act to unfold!}

L{He's coming!}

*Sure enough, Big Duo starts charging towards Zell. Basilisk slithers to its side, but its arm effortlessly bats the drill away.*

Zell grits her teeth before shouting, "You haven't said shit!" She clenches her fist and Mirror Zero responds by unsheathing its sword. "You're going to tell me who I am, even if I have to beat the answers out of you!" She said, matching Big Duo's direct charge, before launching a volley of beams to cover her side step to the side and her slice at Big Duo's left arm.

*Kanrei Tsuki raises its rifle and fires at Big Deu or whatever the hell it's called.*

*Big Duo rises into the air, resulting in Mirror Zero & Kanrei Tsuki being shot by each others' attacks.*

S{Did you think I didn't see you back there?}

*Laughing, Big Duo flies around towards Kanrei Tsuki. Its lower legs hinge, producing 2 missiles which fire at her. Missile launchers also open up on the back of Lilith's Megadeus.*

T{Stop! If you miss, you'll just cause more damage!}

Zell grinds her teeth again, "He isn't getting away from me." She said, activating Mirror Zero's thrusters, and chasing after him intending to slice him to pieces with her energy sword.
