A Tale of Two Cities

*A Megadeus bursts out of the ground, plowing over Gelu Chelybs. It has a black body like a cone, the tapered end trailing across the ground like a tail. Hoses come out of its arms, leading to muzzles on the end of each hand. The mouth & eyes look like a furnace behind grates. It raises an arm & sprays a jet of fire at Rozenkreuz, who sidesteps out of the way.*

Barbatos{Gevurah, you traitor!}

Gevurah{That would imply I ever WAS on your side, wouldn't it?}

Zell shrugged, "I'll have to make sure to get a good look at myself before I wash it out."

*She turns around & keeps walking.*

*Rozenkreuz fires one of its lasers to cancel out another jet of fire.*

*The elevator opens up on Level 610, which is more office space.*

L"This is not what I expected the science department to look like."

T"The floor is most likely split into different sections; for information storage, research, et cetera. The question is, where would they be keeping the files on Aamon?"

"Where would you hide information you don't want found?" Zell asked.

{Easier said than done.}

*The targetting shit goes back to work on re-targetting the Adremalech since it was interupted by some asshole.*

*Hitomi goes back the way she came.*

*The Adramelech moves behind Rozenkreuz and punches the back of its head.*

*On the contrary, it just falls over & stops moving. Rozenkreuz jumps on the back of the new Megadeus, but then freezes up long enough for it to smash her into a building.*

T"Probably a password-protected file in the master database. That should be easy enough to find, just look for the area with the most security. Getting in will be another problem."

*Hitomi continues on her way back to the hangar.*

*Giving up on the cannon, it rises and returns to its resting position. Gelu Chalybs lowers its assualt rifle on the Adremalech's head and open fires.*

*Topaz descends the cockpit down to the torso.*

"You could always raise an alarm somewhere else to lessen security here." Zell said.

T"That'll probably give us away. Then again, my other plan involves just beating up the guards & then locking ourselves in the room."

*The head's armor breaks off, revealing a skull-like metal head underneath. Barbatos kicks the other Megadeus away from her.*

Topaz: {I demand to know what the hell is wrong with this city and what the hell is going on. Now.}

*Still on her way back to the hangar.*

*Gelu Chalybs mouth opens and fires a needle at the skull-like apparatus then another at the torso.*

[It's almost terrifying how easy it is to do this.]

"That isn't better. At least this way they won't be concentrating attention on us, then we slip in, get what we want, and get out before they realize they were on a wild goose chase."

L"We cannot 'slip in,' there will be guards and/or security cameras at that spot at all times."

*The head bursts open & some of the stomach armor falls off, but now Gelu is out of needles. The other Megadeus shoots twin jets of flame at Barbatos, who is quickly enveloped.*

{Never mind that, fool, kill this traitor!}

*From the hangar she leaves the way she entered when first arriving at the facility.*

*Gelu Chalybs rolls over the Adremelach's torso with its treads then fires at the unfamiliar Megadeus.*

"So, what do you propose? Beating up guards didn't work last time, and this time I think it would turn out even worse for us."

*The bullets mostly bounce off of it. It turns one of its arms to shoot a jet of fire at him.*

T"How long will it take you to crack the password?"

L"Roughly n to the second seconds, for every character there is."

T"So a 10-character code would take you just under a minute & a half, barring random chance. All right, I'll wash my hair & set up a distraction. Lilith, you & Zell get what we came here for."

L"Understood."

[This has just been the best day ever.]

*Gelu Chalybs rolls off of the Adremelach, charging at the Megadeus.*

Zell nodded, "Alrighty, lets go."

*It charges him back, like it's some kind of football game.*

*Lilith heads further into the building while Thiera goes back to the elevators. Eventually, Zell & Lilith come to a steel door with 2 guards in front of it.*

L"That will be it. Soon after Thiera raises the alarm, I will beat the crap out of them."

*Gelu Chalybs fires one of its wrist mounted machine guns at the Megadeus's stomach region.*

{You're not dead, are you?}

Zell sighed, "So much for surprise." She said, "Hey, give us a few seconds, my friend here is about to beat the crap out of you."

L"They will never move from that spot. The most we can hope for is to limit our resistance."

*The fire alarm goes off. Sure enough, everyone heads for the stairs, except the 4 of them, though since they're hiding behind a corner, the guards can't see Lilith or Zell. In a few minutes, the room is deserted.*

L"Let's do this."

*She emerges from the corner & is promptly shot in the shoulder. Losing no momentum, she detaches her arm & throws it at the shooter, knocking him out.*

Gevurah{Absolutely not.}

*Barbatos jumps on his back & starts scratching at him with hands & feet. Meanwhile, the Megadeus rears up, revealing dozens of machineguns on its lower body, which it fires at Gelu.*
