Sins of the Father

Ingrid casts reflect on herself, then scan on Jyscal.

*The glyphs turn green. In addition to the Holy, Jyscal takes an Azure Javelin to the gut. He then spins his spear, sending a torrent of wind blades at the party.*

Ingrid, who is silenced, relies on protect to save her as she tries to get out of the way of the blades. As that threat passes, she stands, looks at Hitomi, and points to her through while trying to mouth the word "Esuna."

*Hitomi casts Esuna. On Luna then Ingrid.*

Finally free from silence, Ingrid carries out the remainder of her reflect, scan plan.

Jyscal is a phenomenal sorcerer, knowing all black and white magics to date, as well as the coveted Banish spell. Additionally, he has crafted several artifacts from the Farplane:

Mortichis-Hard armor with a prehensile tail that can take extreme physical and magical punishment. It also greatly increases his physical attacking power. Immune to Breaks.

Lance of Atrophy-An enormous lance with several special attacks that can inflict serious status ailments on what it hits. Additionally, he can channel his magic through it.

Mortiplasm-Strike one Mortiplasm with a spell and it becomes the only spell that can damage Jyscal or any of his items. They do not take damage from magical attacks, but have very low health and defense.

Jyscal can regenerate his artifacts with sufficient time, but when he dies, they all disappear with him.

*Jyscal swings the Lance of Atrophy in a horizontal arc.*

Since Ark used Aeroga on Jyscal, Ingrid uses it as well.

*Hitomi casts Haste & Protect on Luna.*

*This does not stop them all from being damn near bisected by a giant spear. Luna runs up to him & gets stabbed again, falling over dead.*

*Disregarding her Phoenix Down's Hitomi quickly casts Raise on Luna.*

Ingrid uses a high potion, and casts Aeroga again, this time on the spear, hoping to break it away from the already dangerous man.

"I'm not used to the enemy having a longer weapon than I do."

*Jyscal jabs at each of them in turn, apparently having too much fun with the spear to cast magic.*

Ingrid dives backwards to avoid it, trying to put as much distance between herself and Jyscal as possible. She casts Aeroga on the spear again.

*Hitomi casts Curaga on herself then once again Haste on Luna.*

*Ark copycats Curaga on himself and dashes forward, charging his crossed daggers into Jyscal's lance with Darkness.*

*Now Jyscal decides to use magic. Pointing the lance at them, he causes a green orb to appear before the group and explode violently.*

*Hitomi casts Shell on Luna then herself.*

*Ark dashes forward and relentlessly attempts to slash Jyscal to inflict Silence on him.*

*After that, Jyscal's tail swings forward, smacking him in the chest & hurling him away. He twirls his spear, sllicing it up his thigh.*

<As it can cause status ailments, it can also take them away.>

"I wonder what happens if we destroy all of the Mortiphages."

*Ark groans and casts Regen on himself. He then casts Regen on Luna, Hitomi and Ingrid.*

Ingrid having reflect on herself, doesn't give a fuck about Jyscal's magic, and uses Phantasm on him.

*Fortunately, some asshole bounced a Regen or 3 onto Jyscal, so he's healing even as he's being burned. Luna slashes and, when he blocks, pins his spear to the ground.*

*Hitomi casts Dispel on Jyscal.*

Ingrid sighs and starts to cast Aeroga again.

*Jyscal returns the favor by casting Dispel on all of them. & blocking whenever Luna attempts to slice him. She then angles her spear & stabs him in the groin.*
