The War of Paradigm City

Zell lets out a small sigh, and goes for the watch herself since Thiera is preoccupied.

*As the watch is on Thiera's wrist, & under Barbatos's claw, she has little success in doing anything other than cutting her finger. She then gets tetanus & dies. Lilith manages to get the gun Thiera dropped & shoots Barbatos's gun out of her hand. She then takes aim for the chain & pulls the trigger, but the gun just clicks repeatedly.*

*The torso catches fire.*

<Hmph. Ze Megadeus 'as been badly damaged. I zhall 'ave to return it to ze 'angar for repairs. Finish up for me 'ere, why don't you, 'Itomi?>

*Big Duo ignites its thrusters in Gelu Chalyb's face & begins to fly off.*

Zell goes after Barbatos' gun.

*Gelu Chalybs continues firing at Big Duo then proceeds to shake as rifle rounds from Kanrei Tsuki's rifle begin pelting it.*

[Now what?]

*Now Gelu Chalyb's interfaces begin to go dark.*

*Barbatos smiles a nasty, noseless sneer at her.*

<What are you going to do? Shoot me?>

She gives the gun to Lilith, figuring she would be a better shot, and knowing that she had wanted to shoot something anyway.

*Gelu Chalybs attempts to move while Kanrei Tsuki continues firing. Hitomi radios Vera.*

{Do you want the Megadeus?}

*Lilith shoots the chain, severing Barbatos's connection to her claw. Thiera continues trying to pull it off, but it still doesn't budge. Barbatos snarls & her teeth start to crack, but then her face suddenly becomes eerily serene as she walks forwards.*

<I'll make you regret that, android. You might think there isn't much I can do to you, since you can't feel pain. But you'd be surprised how...creative I can be.>

*Barbatos continues to limp forward, glaring almost lustfully at Lilith.*

<For instance, did you know that most androids react with great distress to being disassembled? If there weren't something to keep them moving, their parts would break down from lack of use. For a particularly detailed android such as yourself, I imagine it'll be even worse.>

*Unable to remove the claw, Thiera picks up the chain, loops it, & swings it to catch Barbatos around the neck.*

<Realy? This is what you're going with?>

Zell wasn't happy with Barbatos' look, tone, or threats, and soon found herself between Lilith and the terminator, "Stop it! I've had enough of your threats!"

*Kanrei Tsuki continues to pelt Gelu Chalybs with bullets, advancing as it does so.*

<Again: What are you going to do aboughack-->

*Thiera had picked up the metal bar & started twisting the chains around it. Realizing that she's being garrotted, Barbatos yanks on the chains, causing her to fall forward.*

*Gelu Chalybs continues to not respond in any way shape or form.*

*Kanrei Tsuki continues firing/advancing.*

"You have a better chance of survival than I do, so hopefully we'll meet again under better circumstances."

*Vega heads for the exit.*

Zell, once again, can't really do anything of great importance as she has neither the knowledge of what to do, nor the strength to harm Barbatos in any meaningful way.

*He now realizes that if he leaves the Megadeus, he'll be protected only by loose piles of building rubble, & the only place to go is into the desert or back through Kanrei Tsuki. Possibly unrelated, the ground begins to shake as a large column of dust erupts from a few blocks away, like a bomb just went off.*

*Fortunately, Barbatos had pulled the chain loose from Thiera's watch & Basilisk crashed through the wall. Barbatos jumps back to keep from being impaled by its spinning drill & it coiled loosely around Lilith & Zell, a hatch opening up in its side.*

<Tch. It can't be helped. It's showtime!>

*The section of tunnel under which Barbatos is standing collapses. The whole tunnel structure begins to rumble, the walls, ceiling, & floor cracking & sagging.*

L"A Megadeus is rising onto the city streets."

Zell gets into the hatch.

[This is going from bad to worse.]

*Outside, Kanrei Tsuki begins hammering on Gelu Chalybs with the butt of its rifle until the explosion goes which in turns in the direction of.*

*Lilith continues to flop around uselessly on the ground.*

Aamon{No matter how many miracles of genetics I produced, the Megadeuses always proved to be their superiors, in every facet. It was not a mere statistical anomaly...I repeated my experiments, modifying countless variables, until my materials & methods were at last exhausted. Thus, after nearly endless trial-&-error, I admit, the Megadeuses are the true cutting edge of Paradigm Research. I hate it, but I'll concede to it.}

*The dust falls away, revealing a white Megadeus. It looks a bit like Big Duo, but with some significant differences. First of all, its arms are not modified for flight. Secondly, it is all white. Thirdly, it has a much larger forehead, opposable pauldrons, & bladed rings around its fists.*

Barbatos{Big Fau...Action!}

*Kanrei Tsuki raises its rifle and fires at the Megadeuses head.*

Zell tries to get Lilith into the hatch as well.

*Thiera climbs over the Megadeus to push Lilith behind. Lilith also uses what's left of her strength to grab the hatch & pull. With their combined efforts, they finally manage to get Lilith's fat [strike]shiny[strike] metal ass in the hatch, where she lays on her back, glances briefly at her perforated torso, & stares at the ceiling.*

*The shot doesn't even reach Big Fau's head, bouncing off some invisible barrier. Fau then fires frickin' lasers out of its eyes at her.*

Zell gets back in the hatch. She kind of wanted to ask Lilith if she was alright, but she survived having her head blown off, so Zell was confident Lilith would pull through.

*Kanrei Tsuki lowers it rifle and strafes down the street.*
