Golden Age: Revival

*Selecus pushes Arthur in front of the shot. However, much like Mordred, the bullets simply dissolve into shadows before hitting him. He aims a punch at Selecus, then recoils.*

Arthur<Your clothes are unyielding as Camelot's wall. What sorcery is this?>

Selecus<What can I say? I have an excellent tailor.>

Noct takes this as a sign to aim for the head, instead of the clothes, and does so.

*Once again, the bullet vanishes before it hits his head. Intrigued, Arthur jerks his elbow into Selecus's face, giving him a bloody nose. Selecus stabs at him with the Khopesh, which literally rips apart Arthur's gauntlet when he tries to grab it to keep it from piercing his torso.*

Noct shoots again, but also tries to stab Selecus in the back of the head with a few needles, hoping he won't notice them.

*All of the shadows dissolve before hitting his head. Selecus kicks Arthur off of his swanky sword & charges Noctis.*

Noct pulls up her shirt, grabs the chains, and wraps them around her right arm, holding it in place with a closed fist, effectively creating a chain boxing glove. Using shadows to secure the chains even more Noct readies herself to square off against Selecus.

Selecus<You just saved me the trouble of looking for those.>

*Selecus shifts to Noctis's side and tries to cut her arm below the chains.*

Noct deflects the strike with the chains, then aims a punch at Selecus' eye.

*Selecus grabs her fist with his free hand. He lets go when he sees Arthur charging his ass & jumps back.*

Selecus<You know, you're really starting to annoy me, Your Majesty.>

Noct covered her arm in shadows, and created four others on that side of her body, punching at Selecus' face again with all of them, hoping he wouldn't block the right one. If he did at least she got to punch him in the face four times.

*He blocks the right arm that is positioned in an anatomically correct fashion. The others just dissolve before they reach his face.*

Selecus<Hah! Did you think I wasn't capable of basic memoriza-->

*He abruptly steps back as his khopesh cracks. Some of the chains also fall off of Noctis's arm as one of the links break. Selecus points his free index finger at the ground under Arthur's feet, causing him and Gilgamesh to fall into the cavern below.*

Noct quickly snatched up the fallen link and put in her pocket, she then cocked back her fist again, "I bet I could punch through your little paperclip of a sword before you come close to breaking the chain. Lets say we find out." With that she launched another punch.

*He grabs her arm below the chain.*

Selecus<I bet you didn't think this one through.>

*He raises the khopesh.*

Noct puts her hand out, and in it is her sawed off, loaded up with the broken link. She pressed it underneath his jaw, "Ditto." With that she pulled the trigger, launching the chunk of chain into Selecus' head.

*When he sees what she's doing, he quickly spins the khopesh in his hand & stabs at her shooting arm. About the same time she shoots him in the head, she gets stabbed in the clavicle with the weapon. She hears a snapping noise, followed by the sensations of numbness in her arm & intense pain in her shoulder. When Selecus's corpse falls to the ground, it pulls the khopesh out with it, causing blood to start pouring out. The parts of his face that aren't mangled beyond recognition are twisted into a smug grin.*

Noct dropped to her knees, overcome with sheer pain, and dizzy from the sudden drop in blood pressure. She tried to rip her jacket to bandage the wound, but she couldn't move her arm from the wound, nor her other from the shock. She tried to use shadows, but they didn't last very long after she passed out.

*Noctis wakes up in a bed with a sling. Arthur is standing by a window overlooking Avalon's beach. He turns to look at her.*

Arthur<Good, you're awake. But it seems even with what you call "ancient magic" and "modern medicine," recovery will be a long and difficult road.>

Noctis tried to move her arm and winced, "I'm... just happy to be alive. What about Gil, and yourself. Are you two okay?"

Arthur<My wounds are insignificant. I am...difficult to injure. Gilgamesh is a similar case, so magic alone should be enough to heal him. But it will take a very, very long time. He will have to stay here, on Avalon, while we go on ahead.>

"And Selecus?" Noctis asked, "I don't remember much before blacking out. I only remember getting stabbed, and a smug grin. I can't remember if I got the shot off. The shot! Where is the chain?"

Woman's voice<In my hand.>

*A woman in a black suit with long, curly brown hair walks into the room. She shows Noctis the chain link before dropping it into her pocket.*

Woman's voice<I've agreed to leave the rest of the chain with you. Which is far more generous than I feel I should be, considering what I had to dig through to get this.>

Noctis smiled a bit, "So, it did work. I'm glad. I apologize about what you had to go through to get it, but, um, who are you? Wait, perhaps I should guess. A demigod, or maybe someone from myth, Joan of Arc? If the latter, I must say that I'm a big fan." Noct let out a small giggle, and winced again, "I'm sorry, but after the past few days I needed a laugh, and it didn't look like anyone else was in a joking mood."

*Light moves up the woman's body, the suit becoming a white dress & the hair turning blond & straight.*

<Demigod would be your closest guess. I am Titania, Queen of the Fay. You are quite fortunate that I owe Sir Arthur. Otherwise, I would be obligated to crush you & retake control of Avalon on behalf of the Illuminati.>

"That seems a bit harsh, and unnecessary," Noct said, a bit bored with the threat, "I mean, you could have just said who you were. You didn't need to go on about how you would have to kill me. I could have got that from you saying you were part of the Illuminati. I would have asked why the Illuminati was helping, and you could have said it was a favor to Arthur, and I would still have a good opinion of you," Noct leaned back a bit, "I mean, what are you trying to prove, I can barely laugh without pain. Hell, it is almost too much effort to be snarky at this point."

*She smiles.*

Titania<Young Lady, you are lucky I am not my husband. He would have evaporated you at "unnecessary.">

Arthur<With respect, the Fair Folk are not, what you would call, "polite." Titania is one of the most amicable I have had the pleasure to meet.>

*Titania nods in agreement.*
