"Wait, Sab came over?" Mortal asked, "Did you...?"

"No, no," Noct pinched the bridge of her nose, "We just talked."

"No, I mean it. The two of us, we could eliminate him easily. Or we can just walk away. What is it going to be, Argath?"

<What will the Marquis say when he hears about this?>

"Good question. Do you think he'll care about your personal squabbles?"

*Parker is sitting by a window in an inn room in Limberry. Rhea is napping on one of the beds and Reiter is walking around, pensive.*

Reiter: <Now what?>

*Roatha is leaning against the wall.*

"When I found the others, they had just cleaned up what I assume was supposed to be the Order of the Evil Eye outside of the castle. It was a pretty sad group, but their leader was something else entirely. He had strange powers. Like the power to imitate a person perfectly--appearance, voice, everything. But he teleported away without answering any of our questions. All he said was, 'You need to be removed, but it is too open for me to act.'"

Parker: <So he could just jump us and murder us viciously at any second. That's great.>

Reiter: <This means we can't trust anyone then.>

*Clyde, in turn, keeps his eye on the archer.*

Zerro<Unfortunately, I'd say that the bodyguard business is not your forte. Mayhap you should take up knitting?>

*Zerro walks past Clyde to the empty grate & begins sliding inside.*

"Speaking of, we should get out of this city soon. I think Seraph has been screwing us over this whole time, & now that he's tipped his hand, he doesn't have anything to lose."

Zerro<Well...tick-tock.>

*Zerro slips through the grate entirely & can be heard running through a stone tunnel on the other side.*

"Well then, it appears it is your move, Argath," Zac said, with a small shrug, "You've got more to lose than gain it seems."

"I wasn't upset then, I was confused," Noct replied, "Now I'm upset, but I still can't decide if that is because of what we talked about, or the hangover."

Noct looked a bit embarrassed, and put her head in her hands again, "I don't want to talk about it."

Zac just smiled, it was amusing to see Argath try to hold onto a sliver of dignity as he was told off by Lilith.

*Argath glares at them both before leaving the room. Lilith watches as he walks down the hall before shutting the door.*

"...I remember now. Gustav said he was working with Argath. At the time, I didn't think of it, because Argath had been away from the castle for so long. But if they're the same person, it likely means that he's one of them, too."

"O...kay...oh! Did you talk to your dad about that guy from the church?"

"What? Oh, no," Noct said.

Mortal returned from the other room, "Breakfast is on the way." She said, taking a seat.

"Then what does that mean for the Marquis' allegiance?" Zac asked.

"We should do that soon. Word might come at any time."

*Euryale sits down next to Mortal.*

"I am positive that he is already one of those Lucavi monsters. Although, where their motives lie, I cannot say."

"You go tell him," Noct said, motioning towards Mortal lethargically. "I'm not feeling well."

Mortal nodded, "Alright, but can I wait for breakfast first?"

"Can you?"

"May I?" Mortal corrected, a tad annoyed.

"Why are you asking me? I'm not your keeper."

Mortal just sat there, annoyed at the conversation.

*Euryale pats Mortal on the shoulder.*

"We'll go after breakfast. I'm famished."

"We'll worry about that later. Right now, we need to get out of this castle & get news about the battle."

Mortal looked at Euryale and smiled, "Alright."

"Well, it seems like you two worked up an appetite," Noct said, implying implication.

Zac, already dressed, and ready to go, nodded, "Alright then. I guess I'll wait here while you get ready."

Reiter: <No one saw that coming.>

Parker: <In any case, we have more than enough good reasons to get out of here ASAP. Where should we head?>

*Euryale misses the implication, because she is not about subtlety, she is about ramming a fist in your face until your face stops working.*

"No, I imagine it's because I haven't eaten anything in several hours. What with being asleep, & all. Anyway, what's for breakfast?"

*Lilith timed things so that she was ready by breakfast. Then they simply snuck out of the entrance hall. She only had to stop once to request that a guard check for a message. Once outside, they head to a tavern.*

Tavernmaster<Oh, so you haven't heard about that yet? It's quite a story. They say that all of the soldiers were poisoned, just before the battlefield was flooded. The battle practically never even happened. But apparently some assassins got through. Both of the Dukes are dead.>

*Lilith opens her eyes & mouth wide, visibly shocked.*

L"Does this mean...that the war is over?"

Tavernmaster<Nah. High Confessor Funebris tried to offer a treaty, but he was flatly ignored. Lord Dycedarg took over the Northern Sky after Duke Larg's death. And as for Goltanna...you might not believe it, but the Thunder God was imprisoned for that. Now some upstart named "Delita" runs the Southern Sky.>

"Oh, I'm glad you asked," Mortal said, "We're having steak and eggs."

R"I don't know. Let's find Lilith & see if she's turned up anything. There is safety in numbers."

"Wait...that doesn't make sense...the Thunder God, wanted for an assassination ploy? And what are the odds that BOTH dukes would be killed simultaneously?"

*He shrugs.*

<Well, it IS a war.>

"I don't...so, I take it Dycedarg wants to become King himself?"

<Seems that way. Prince Orinus is said to have ran away.>

*Parker stands up and goes over to the bed, nudging Rhea awake.*

Parker: <We have to go.>

Rhea: <Y-Yeah, I'm sorry.>

"Why do you always ask for steak and eggs?" Noct asked.

"Because it is good."

"Have you actually ever had pancakes, or waffles?"
