Cabin in the Woods

R"Maybe. Let's go around the cabin to see if we can find anything."

*Euryale enters the bathroom & emerges a few moments later, rubbing her face.*

"I think she's just very disturbed right now."
----------------------------------------------------------------
*Nero rubs her shoulder while Thiera sets her book on the "table" & begins flipping through it.*

Mimiru: "That's putting it mildly."

Azuma: "Couldn't she have picked a different spot. Some of us need to use the bathroom and don't like to have an audience."

Astarte rested her head on him as Eduj entered the room. Eduj considered the pair for a moment, seemingly indifferent, before sitting down. Stefan woke suddenly from his nap once again, and rubbed furiously at his eyes.

Hector was sitting on his bed, writing something in his notebook.

Cameron:<Sure.>

*Cameron starts walking around the cabin. Inside, Eve grabs her notebook and a pencil before returning to her seat. She begins to sketch a picture of the dead fox. Monu rests his head against the wall, eyes closed, while Tirea watches Astarte and Nero*

*As they're walking around the left side of the house, Roatha stops Cameron & gestures into the treeline with his flashlight. A floating orb of light like the ones from before can be seen moving lazily through the trees. Curiously, once it enters the beam of his flashlight, it blinks out.*

"Well, there's nothing I can do about it. I don't think that dragging her out is really a good idea."

*Thiera watches Nero work with a look of mild concern before removing her now fully-charged lantern from the outlet & replacing it with her phone.*

Cameron:<Same as we saw yesterday. Should we go back and tell he others, or look around a bit more first?>

Astarte now just stood and leaned on him, her eyes drifting closed. Stefan rose up from the couch and walked into the kitchen to get a drink.

Azuma: "Well, I can try to close the curtain. The illusion of privacy is better than nothing."

Azuma goes into the bathroom.

*Vanessa is sitting bolt upright in the tub looking like she'll punch anything that comes near her.*

*A roar of thunder can be heard throughout the cabin. The shaking even knocks one of the paintings off of the wall.*

"No. We have to finish what we're doing. Besides, what can they do about it?"

*He heads around to the back of the cabin, looking up to the roof every now & again. As he walks, the sky lights up a brilliant blue.*

Azuma slowly reaches for the shower curtain.

Azuma: It's like looking into the Uncanny Valley.

Astarte dropped the nearly empty can of spam and wrapped both arms around Nero, burying her face in his coat. Stefan emerged from the kitchen with a can of water, shaking his head.
"What a great time for a damned storm."

"I'm not saying you can't have any..." Sab said, "I... It doesn't matter. So, what flavor did you get?" Sab sat down at a table after getting some juice, and a fork.

Noctal make their way into the cafeteria, and start to get there food. Mortal notices Aroma, and says, "Good morning, Aroma."

Noct hears the greeting, and looks over at her before giving a warm smile and waving hello as well, "Hello. I assume Sab is nearby."

*Cameron follows him, also staring up at the roof*

*When they get around back to the front of the cabin, they see a humanoid shape creeping in the treeline, facing the front door.*

R"Nero! Hurry, come outside!"

*Nero looks over his shoulder.*

N"God damn it, Roatha...sorry, babe, I gotta take this."

*Euryale looks to the door.*

E"Sounds like some kind of trouble. I'd better go help out."

*Vanessa suddenly stands bolt upright.*

V"It's back! It's back it's back it's back oh god oh god oh god!"

A"Cherry."

*She turns in the direction of the greetings.*

A"Hey there, Mortal, Noct. Yeah, she's right here."

*She gestures towards Sab.*

*Cameron starts back*

<What the hell? Can you point your flashlight at it?>

*Eve puts down her notebook and heads out, but stays close to the door way. Tirea and Monu both follow close behind*

Tirea:<(Think Cam's alright.)>

Monu:<(Of course.)>

Both wave to Sab, who waves back. "Just pop-tarts?" Mortal asked.

Noct was opening a pack of her own, "Whats wrong with pop-tarts?" She pulled one out, and bit into it, before sitting down next to Sab.

"Nothing, just doesn't seem like it is enough of a breakfast," Mortal sat down across from Sab with a plate of eggs and bacon, "Not enough for me anyway." She looked down at her plate and sighed, "You know, I wish they had steak here..."

"You don't have class today, right Mortal?" Sab asked. Mortal shook her head, since her mouth was full of eggs. "Want to see a movie or something then?"

Mortal swallowed and said, "Sure."

Astarte looked around helplessly, and seeing Eduj stand up, ran over and wrapped her arms around him. He hesitated, wanting to head outside, but then just put an arm around her and stood still.
"What is it?" Astarte asked in a barely audible whisper.
"I don't know, but nothing will happen to you in here," Eduj said, trying to sound less monotonous and more reassuring.

Azuma backs up, holding his arms up defensively.

Azuma: "Settle down. What the hell are you going on about?"

And will it get you out of here?

*Nero looks displeased at this, but opens the door & heads out, followed shortly thereafter by Euryale & Thiera. Roatha points his flashlight at the figure. The extra light makes some of the shadows shrink away, but this only seems to serve to make it even more difficult to tell where the figure's coat ends & the trees begin.*

N"Well, what do you know, there really was someone out here...it looks like the guy from before the accident. He's got that...I want to say tophat."

T"I think it's a porkpie hat."

*Euryale facepalms.*

E"Who are you? What do you want with us?"

*In another blast of lightning, the figure seems to disappear, but only for a brief moment.*

V"...Maybe it'll kill you first."

"I'd think that eating steak every morning would be a bit much...though I might be kind of biased."

*At this point, it is no longer possible to ignore the rain smacking against the windows of the cafeteria. There is also a flash of lightning.*

Azuma: "That's lovely. Care to share your cryptic messages with the others? In the front room?"

Astarte continued to cling to Eduj, while Stefan made his way to the door and poked his head out, one hand wrapped around his cross. Hector entered the living room, sliding a sheet of paper from his notebook into his pocket and looking curious.
"What's going on?"

Mortal shrugged, "I mean, not every morning. That'd get boring, but it is good, and we're in college, so I don't get to have red meat nearly as much as I would like." Mortal bit into her food again, and swallowed before continuing, "Though I'm sure you're just fine either way, being a vegetarian."

Noct looked in her backpack and frowned, "Shit, I didn't bring an umbrella."

"Do you own an umbrella?" Mortal asked.

Noct shrugged, "I'm sure somewhere, at some point in time I've paid money for one..."

Cameron:<I wonder what he wants.>

*Monu shrugs in response*

Eve:<Excuse us, Sir?>

*She just glares at Azuma.*

R"I don't think he's going to answer."

*Whoever it is takes a step forward. Euryale points at him.*

E"You just stop right there!"

*He takes another step.*

E"I mean it! This is your last warning!"

*Aroma giggles, finishing up her breakfast.*

A"Well, hopefully the rain backs off in a few minutes. I have to get going."

Tirea:<(What should we do?)>

Eve:<(I'd say go back inside, but.....I don't know.)>

Cameron:<There are a lot more of us than there are of you. Don't make us have to hurt you.>
