Cabin in the Woods

Taiyo: "I think it was put there when you were brought in here."

"Don't bother, I'd still have to listen to your yappin' all damn night."

"Oh. That's nice, but I can't reach it over there."

*She starts gulping down her water.*

Taiyo moves the can somewhere closer to Euryale's side of the bed, keeping an eye on Euryale in case she chokes the way she's drinking that water.

Sab shook her head, "No. Why, did you want to do something?"

*Apparently, Taiyo put the can on the floor. Euryale, having presumably been sat back on the bed, shrugs.*

"I guess I can reach it there. Thanks."

*She sets the can down & lets herself fall back onto the bed.*

"It would be nice."

Euryale apparently settled in gives Mimiru the chance to go back to her room. Taiyo climbs back into bed beside Euryale.

"It would," Sab said with a smile, "Did you have something specific in mind?"

Hector and Eduj settled down into their seated positions, ignoring Vanessa.

"I'm really glad you're here with me. Now I really don't know how I'd get through this without you."

*She takes another drink.*

*Scratching can be heard in the wall behind the chairs.*

"I don't know. Is there anything interesting going on around campus?"

Taiyo: "I guess we both need each other to get through this."

Hector and Eduj stared at the wall.

*Cameron and Monu turn around*

Monu:<You guys hear that?>

Cameron:<Yeah.>

*Monu slowly reaches out and touches the wall*

*The scratching noises continue, heedless of them.*

*Euryale sets her drink down & puts an arm around Taiyo.*

"I'm sorry. I said I'd protect you, but I've become such a hassle."

*Monu knocks on the wall*

Monu:<Rats or mice, maybe.>

Cameron:<Could it be that monster again?>

Monu:<It doesn't seem like it, but anything's possible.>

"I don't know what the monster would be doing..." Hector said, looking over at the door. "But that is quite disconcerting."

Taiyo wraps her arms around Euryale.

Taiyo: "Don't worry. You'll get through this."

*The noises continue for a few more minutes, but eventually cease.*

*Euryale presses her face into Taiyo's shoulder & hair.*

"I just hope I recover soon."

Taiyo: "You're strong. I'm sure you will."

"Uh..." Sab walked over to her laptop, and opened her browser to the school's main page, "I don't know. Maybe Gabe would know... she usually knows things like that."

Mortal finished up her steak, and looked at Gabe, "So, anything going on around campus?"

"Iunno," Gabe said, "Why would I know?"

"I don't know, you just seem like you know those things."

"...Why would you think that?"

"I don't know. You just do," Mortal looked at Noct, "Back me up here."

"Gabe is usually preoccupied with practice, so no, I usually don't expect her to know about campus life," Noct said. She then looked at Gabe, "Mortal likes to make base generalizations about people, and usually hurts feelings when she does. Please don't be offended by her stereotyping."

"You said you don't want me to wake you up because I'm too bright!"

"You two have a really weird friendship."

Monu:<It stopped. Probably was mice or rats after all.>

*The group gets the sense that several uneventful hours have passed.*

*Euryale had thanked Taiyo &, at some point, drifted back off into sleep.*

"Looks like there's a play later tonight. And a small art show in the main building, around lunchtime."

*Cameron doodles on the corner of the paper, while Monu looks half asleep*

Hector yawned and stretched his arms, "Is our watch nearly over?"

Taiyo cuddles up close to Euryale, covers her and herself up and goes back to sleep.

"What do you want to go to?" Sab asked.
