Cameron:<No. I'm not leaving till you tell me what's going on. Plus..why do you want to work alone? Human work in groups..alone we're pretty easy to kill.>

*Cameron shakes his head and holds it with his hands*

<We want to help you..and be your friends. At least I do.>

"Well, uh," Hector cast a glance around the room. "We could look for things to make into weapons. Maybe things with longer reaches than knives."
He stood up and looked at Astarte, then to Eduj, "Astarte isn't going to be much use in her state, so we should just leave her on the couch. Eduj can keep guarding the door."

N"What is with your insistence on stabbing the thing? It's obviously not going to work."

*She slaps him in the face.*

V"Fuck off, Creep."

"I could say the same about this 'water blessing' shit, but we need to try everything, alright?" Hector sighed deeply.

Eve:<We need to prepare for as well as we can. Having some weapons around wouldn't hurt.>

Monu:<Until someone goes crazy and uses them to kill the rest of us.>

*She pulls out the mace & points it in his face.*

V"You should rethink that."

N"Yes, that is an ever-present concern. Or it takes them. Or makes them fly! It's an evil ghost monster, isn't it?"

R"What if it can mind control people?"

N"What if it feeds on our fear, & becomes more powerful?"

R"What if it can rip our souls out of our bodies & eat them?"

T"What if both of you stopped talking?"

Eve:<It seemed to hurt Euryale without touching her. As for its other abilities, who knows.>

*Since Cameron really doesn't want to be sprayed with mace, he stands up and backs away*

<We are trying to help you. Everyone has from the moment this nightmare has started, and all you've done is attack us. Why.>

"Anyway, this thing might not be the only creature we have to contend with," Hector said, turning his back on Nero and Roatha. "If we were forced out of the cabin or something, we could be attacked by a wild pig, a lynx, or even a far wandering bear."
He turned back around and looked at the chairs, "We could make weapons with a longer reach if we took the legs off of those chairs. Like short spears. Just an idea... do we really need the chairs?"

Azuma: "You're trying to go for a practical solution when the situation calls for anything but. Also if it can do harm without touching someone who says we can harm it by touching it? If anything something not so physical is the answer. Like heat, or light, or...something."

Taiyo returns the smile, handing Euryale a towel.

T"We do have fire, & thus can make torches. We shouldn't be destroying our meager supplies on impulse."

N"What should we do about that part where we're not all murdered in our sleep? I never heard it leave, it could still be right outside, for all we know. Do we just sleep in shifts, watching the door?"

*In the background, Roatha pours a can of water & fucks off.*

*Euryale mouths, "Thank you," & puts the towel over her forehead. Shortly thereafter, she doses off as Roatha comes back in.*

R"Darn, we needed her to do some crazy voodoo magic for us. Well, just get us when she wakes up."

*Roatha sets the cup on the dresser, then turns to Taiyo.*

R"Wait...do you know if it's okay for her to be sleeping right now?"

V"Right. I want the help of a bunch of idiots who get lost in the woods following whispering balls of light. Or who get ripped apart trying to attack a monster. Or who argue over whether to sit around in a cabin doing nothing, or go outside to walk around in circles. And I certainly want to spend all of my time babysitting those people. This can't be the first time you've met someone who doesn't want to be involved with you. Get over it."

Azuma: "Well, I'm certain we don't need chairs, but who knows how long the generator'll last or us. It'd better go towards kindling rather than a hairbrained scheme to slay a monster."

Mimiru: "Hear it leave? Did you even hear it approach?"

Taiyo: "I don't know. I'll be here though if something happens."

"That's fair enough," Hector scratched his head. "It's just that... as weird as whatever that thing was, I'm not ready to believe that some kind of voodoo water is going to solve everything, and I don't know what we could use as a back up. Especially after I was forbidden to use deodorant fire, as practically harmless as it is."

Eduj continued to stand near the door, waiting and listening.

Azuma: "Probably because it's stupid and doesn't contribute to...anything."

"Did you not just say 'if anything something not so physical is the answer, like heat or light or something'?" Hector replied. "Blasting deodorant flames at it would be utilizing heat, light and sound. It might not work, but I would give it as much credibility or more than... that."
He pointed to the occult book.

Cameron:<Then what would you do? At least we've be4en trying to get out here.>

Monu:<Sleeping in shifts is probably a good idea.>

Eve:<If we're trying blessed water, we might as well try fire. Just to try everything possible.>

R"I'll go ask Thiera. She's the closest thing we have to a medical expert."

*He heads out.*

N"I wasn't even nearby when it showed up."

T"I'll take the first watch. And there will be no improvised flamethrowers on said watch."

R"Hey, not to interrupt that guy's insane quest to burn down the cabin, but is it okay for that girl to be sleeping right now? Like...is that healthy?"

T"She doesn't have any head trauma. Sleep should be good for her."

Cameron:<Then....do. But the bathroom's kinda needed so...>

*Eve grabs her notebook*

<Shall we make a schedule?>

Monu:<Sure. I don't care when I have watch.>

"Well, I'm going to look around the cabin for anything interesting," Hector said, walking off towards the basement.

Astarte was still hugging Tirea, but had relaxed her grip and seemed very tired again.

Azuma: "I had a torch in mind. Something useful and doesn't involve squandering the lighters we have. Guarantee no one decided to bring along a thing of lighter fluid."

Taiyo rests her head on her arms on the bed.

Taiyo: "Feel better soon."

*With a hmph, Vanessa gets out of the bathtub & walks out into the hall.*

N"We can make a cheap torch without lighter fluid, that's not too much of a problem. The problem is getting past that thing to find a way out of this forest."

T"Let's just organize the watches in groups, by the sleeping arrangements."

R"But Vanessa sleeps alone. Do you really trust her to keep watch over all of us?"

N"She's not going to do what we say anyway, don't even involve her."

*There are no lights in the basement. Just a few flights of stairs that twist around, descending about 12 feet onto a dirt floor.*

Hector peered into the dark, then turned around and walked back to his room to get his flashlight. He passed Vanessa on the way, "Excuse me."

*Cameron follows Vanessa at a distance, trying to figure out where she's headed*

Eve:<It'd probably be best just to leave her be for now.>

*Tirea smiles and hugs Astarte*

<Feeling better?>

Azuma: "Makes one regret looking for her in the first place."

R"Oh, wait, since Euryale is out-of-commission, we obviously can't have her stand watch. That just leaves Taiyo in a group of her own. Maybe we should cut her out, too?"

N"I don't see why she should get out of responsibility just because her partner got her ass kicked."

R"Her responsibility can be looking after Euryale. She seems to have really taken to it."

*Vanessa had just stopped near the end of the hall. But after staring into the basement for a while, she begins to back away.*

Azuma: "Someone should look after her. Makes sense it be her roommate."

Oh God, finally.

Azuma books it to the bathroom.
