Cabin in the Woods

V"Stay away from me! STAY AWAAAAY!"

*Vanessa shuts her eyes tight & grabs the hair around her temples.*

*Hector can hear something running rapidly through the woods towards him, brushing aside branches & cracking leaves underfoot.*

"Someone get a fucking torch out here already!" Hector shouted and threw the fox out into the bushes. Eduj stood by his side and lit his lighter, casting a dim light on the tiny area around them.

Stefan looked disappointed and also completely clueless, without a clue of what to do next.

Tirea:<Would you like a glass of water or something to eat?>

Cameron:<Maybe we should take it a bit farther away. We don't want to attract savages.>

*Cameron heads out to help*

Azuma: "Don't you mean scavangers? As it might be a little late to not attract savages."

*Whatever it is stops just beyond the bushes & presumably stares. Euryale & Nero make no movement 'cause they couldn't hear shit over the now non-responsive Vanessa's screaming.*

Cameron<Yes.>

*Cameron runs over to Hector, then shines his flashlight into the trees*

Cameron<What is it?>

Monu<What should we do?>

Tirea<I'll go get a blanket for her.>

*Tirea goes back to the couch to grab Vanessa's blanket*

"I don't know..." Hector stared back, though he didn't know what he was seeing, or if there was really anything there at all. "Let's go back inside. This is fucking creepy."
"Go in," Eduj motioned for the others to go first, and would back in after them.

Stefan closed his eyes, placed a hand on the cross hanging from his neck and began silently pleading for God to help them, especially Vanessa.

Astarte finally woke up as screaming started and sat up in bed, looking incredibly pale, "What's going on?!"

*Roatha & Thiera also sit up, Thiera looking concerned, Roatha just looking tired.*

T"I don't know...."

R"We put Nero on the case, but in all honesty, he's probably making whatever it is worse."

*Amazingly, nothing comes out to rape them as they're standing around gawking.*

Cameron<I agree, let's go.>

*Cameron reenters the cabin, and Eve meets him at the door*

Eve<See anything?>

Cameron<Not really.>

*Meanwhile, Tirea returns with the nearest blanket and drapes it over Vanessa, then looks to Monu*

Monu<Would you like help back to the couch? You shouldn't stay here.>

Hector followed Cameron inside, closely followed by Eduj.

Azuma: "Just close the door and make sure it stays closed. Hell, put something in front of it if you must."

*Euryale closes, & locks the door.*

N"I don't know what you people are so afraid of. So there was a dead fox on our doorstep. It's a forest, things die in it. As for that chick, she probably just had a bad dream."

Azuma: "Things that die don't usually sit on frontsteps with missing eyes."

"Exactly," Hector nodded in agreement with Azuma after running a hand through his hair. "It's eyes were torn out and it was left on the doorstep, and how traumatic does a dream have to be to make a woman like that?"
He pointed at Vanessa before continuing, "Besides that, something substantial was definitely running around just out there, and it might have been in this cabin, too."

N"You're just being paranoid. Some animal probably ate its eyes out, & was scared away when you opened the door. What else do you think it was, evil spirits?"

E"Yes."

N"No one was talking to you."

Azuma: "And whatever ate its eyes left it literally sitting on the frontstep? I bet on an escaped lunatic from the local mental ward."

"Look, I don't know what is going on, but quit acting like you're too cool to care," Hector sighed, glaring at Nero and obviously losing patience. "And you can't explain Vanessa's condition with a bad dream or a regular animal."
Stefan stood up, finished his prayers, and went to a window to peer outside.

N"You don't know what...? You heard a noise in the woods & now you think there's crazy people & monsters out there. And what do you even know about this Vanessa chick, huh? We already know she's some kind of socially maladjusted weirdo, it's not really surprising to me to learn that she has mental problems. If you want to be some kind of know-it-all with your crazy theories, you go right ahead, but leave me out of it. Meanwhile, I'm going to the bathroom, & then I'm getting something to eat."

*Nero turns & heads off for the bathroom. At some point during the rant, Euryale looked around, & then wandered off towards the bedrooms.*

N"Fucking retard."

Hector watched Nero leave with his fists clenched by his sides, but a moment later seemed calm again. Eduj was silent, as usual, though as Nero left his stance became noticeably less rigid.
"So, what are we going to do about Vanessa?" Stefan asked, coming away from the window. Hector and Eduj turned to face him as though they had forgotten he was there. "I mean, we can't just leave her crying on the floor, but I doubt that she wants anybody else around."

Eve:<I don't believe many predators would just leave the body there. Also, other than missing eyes, the fox didn't seen very heavily wounded. With taking into account the position we found it in, it seems more likely, at the moment, that the fox died of fright or something. Which would be very odd, in itself, for a fox, I believe.>

*Eve sighs*

<Or in a fight with something smaller that scratched its eyes out, and didn't leave any large visible wounds. Anyway, nether case would explain Vanessa's condition, which doesn't seem to point to ether of these cases.>

Monu:<I think we should bring her back to the couch.>

Azuma: "So this is cabin fever. Swell."

Azuma goes to the kitchen and rummages around for something that holds water.

In the bedroom, Mimiru is laying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Beside her Taiyo is curled up having fallen asleep.

Mimiru: This is definetely not going to end well.

"We would need to figure out how to get near to her without freaking her out," Stefan pointed to the bruise she had left on his face. "I think we should just leave her where she is with a blanket and a pillow. I can stay out here too and make sure she's alright."
"And what do we do, go back to bed?" Hector furrowed his brow a little. "It already feels like I have been asleep for a while. I think I'll get something to eat and drink."
Eduj had taken a seat on the edge of the couch, and Hector entered the kitchen.

*In the sink are the rinsed-out cans they had used, since there are no cups in the cabin.*

*Roatha & Thiera have fallen back asleep.*

Azuma shrugs and goes with that, leaning against the counter with his can of water.

Mimiru sits up.

Mimiru: "Hello."

Tirea<I'll get her a pillow.>

*Tirea goes off and gets Vanessa's off the couch, and then returns carrying it*

Monu<I'm not tired, so I'll stay up too.>

*Eve sits on the edge of the couch, thinking hard, while Cameron nods at Monu then heads back to bed*
