I think I was only here once before and it wasn't for very long, and it might be a good idea to know more than just where the tavern is if I'm going to be here for awhile."

<Hmm...I suppose I can do that. But I must attend to my church duties within an hour or so.>

Mimiru lines herself up with the Cockatrice and attacks with Shockwave.

*Safian growls and hands 20k gil to Cassandra*

Cassandra:<I'll have 10 high potions, 10 high ethers, and 5 remedies, please.>

*She critically wounds it. Of course, it feather bombs her again, and flies to a higher ground.*

Safian:<We have a demon sheep to kill.>

*They had back out to the plains*

Azuma heads out further ahead while Mimiru continies to keep herself lined up with the Cockatrice.

Taiyo: "Um...I'm not really sure what there is in the city."

*Since no one is attacking the fucking thing, it continues to feather bomb Azuma & fly away.*

<Well, for starters, there's the Royal Palace.>

*She points to a palace with a dome shaped roof at the center of the city.*

<We could start by heading over there.>

*After some searching, they stumble onto the scene from before, now without the wool, because someone picked it all up for some reason.*

The two continue, Azuma ahead an out of Mimiru's path who attacks with Shockwave when lined up.

Taiyo: "Okay."

Mortal pressed on, despite the fact that she was even more embarrassed after what Euryale just said, "So, you finally believe me?"

"If nothing else, I'm willing to listen, and keep an open mind about the matter," Zac said, "Though I can't lie and say that I will just believe you without more information, and maybe a bit of proof. I'm not exactly one to accept things on faith."

Mortal frowned, not particularly liking that answer, "Fine, I suppose. I've already told you I don't remember what I was like exactly, or well, I don't remember what I felt about what I was doing. I just did things because it seemed like I was supposed to. I guess that was my instinct as a dragon. Is there anything else you'd like to know?"

Cassandra:<Come out dragon, nice yummy people to eat.>

Safian;<Well, let's keep looking.>

*They head in the opposite direction from before*

*They walked right back to the town they just left.*

*Because of the height difference in the ground, the Shockwave never reaches it. It featherbombs Azuma, flying away.*

L"What about conscious thought? Do dragons ponder things? Such as, 'Why can't I fly, even though I have wings?' Or 'What are those humans doing in the desert?'"

Safian:<How hard can it be to find a demon sheep?!>

*They head to the west, staring around, looking for the thing*

Taiyo follows along, I presume.

The continue their movement, heading towards the crystal of the last Cockatrice.

"They do," Mortal said, "I have no answer about the wings thing. It never even occurred to me until I was a human actually. They just... seemed right. I kind of miss them actually, in so far as you can miss useless limbs." Mortal shrugged, "Anyway, most thoughts were not as profound as why someone was in my desert, so much as how I should remove them from it."

~Lesalia~

*As they head towards the gilded palace gates, they pass into a park full of bards singing accompanied by their harps.*

Aroma<Ah, I've heard of this place. The largest cultural center in Ivalice is the Castle Library of Lesalia, but the bards prefer to practice their craft in the open air park around the gates.>

*She points to said gates.*

Aroma<Usually, commoners would not be allowed past that threshold, but it seems as though the new King plans to abolish that rule.>

L"Dragon wing muscles are too weak to lift their weight, in case you were wondering."

E"Oh? How did you know that?"

L"There are a few dragon specimens at Gariland and Lesalia, dedicated to the study of their anatomy."

E"There are live dragons in this very city? I didn't know that."

L"...Not...quite, no...."

*Once again, they find the scene from before.*

*That is 2 different directions. They're going to have to pick a target. When they're quite done atrociously fucking up an incredibly simple battle. Azuma is feather bombed again.*

Taiyo: "That's good. I guess."

Azuma goes around to the Cockatrice's side to attack. Mimiru lines herself up with it and attacks with Shockwave.

Mortal seems unaffected by the thought of people studying dragons in a way that probably ends in their death. It was their fault for getting caught, and not putting up enough of a fight.

~Grogh~

*Only Azuma hits it. It dies.*

L"I just have one last question. There are reports of a Red Dragon in the Beddha Sandwaste who protects travelers from other dragons. Would you happen to know anything about that, or similar phenomena?"

"Perhaps it simply doesn't perceive humans as threats to its territory," Mortal suggested, "I wouldn't be able to tell you without speaking to the dragon myself."

Taiyo: "Um...okay?"

*She walks along the park until she finds a dirt road that leads into a shabbier district made of wooden cottages.*

*They next find themselves in Finath River, which once again has them attacked. This time, it's a pair of Squidraken in the river next to them, a Gobbledegook on their other side, & a pair of Chocobos (black and regular) on the far end of the field.*

There's really nothing I'd need to buy.

Taiyo: "Oh, okay."

Taiyo follows along.

Azuma groans and approaches the Gobbldyguck.

Mimiru steps forward and attacks the pair of Squidraken with Aurablast.

"Yes, I can talk to animals, and fiends," Mortal said, "They hardly have kind words to say, and when I ask for a free passage they usually attack anyway. Fiends are rude."

*They head east from that spot*
