Year Two

*As it can be assumed that the bad guy has been put to sleep, Thiera races back to where she was lying & resumes her position before the dust settles, flower petals encasing her shoes to prevent noise. Once she's back in position, the plants on her dissolve.*

Dalia found herself standing nearby to the police outside the cafe, having bypassed any roadblocks with her ability. She watched with mild interest.

Jin shrugged, gulping down another mouthful, "Nothing I can't do another time."

Grimm arrived back at the church and walked briskly around the garden.

Eve:<Bad Jin!>

*Eve laughs, letting her friend know she's kidding*

<Well, I thought we could go get a snack then....maybe walk around the mall or somewhere.>

*Eve shrugs*

*Cameron throws his textbook aside and jumps on the couch*

The trio begin making their way back to school, going by the street they were stopped at, finding the roadblock gone.

Azuma: "Excitment's over."

More officers enter through the front, Comissioner Morrison with them followed by a black haired male in street clothes around the same age as Morrison and Detective Raferty whom Ven had met last summer.

Morrison: "The hell happened here?"

A police officer in uniform who had begun taking statements while other officers began dealing with the Russians and Tyranno Boy.

Uniform: "Mob hit, sir. A witness said our perp found in the john came in followed shortly by the Russians. Then whatever happened with all the plants."

Morrison: "So a Mutant put a stop to this. Well, good luck finding out who if they're still here. Have the lab boys do some tests on any pollen that can be scraped up and the shrubbery coating that scatter rifle."

Uniform: "Think it'll help us identify the Mutant?"

Morrison: "Hell, I don't know. Just standard procedure. And make sure they don't misplace anything. Especially when it comes to the Russians. I want to keep them for at least a day before something goes wrong and they walk."

Uniform: "Yes, sir."

The officer leaves the area.

Morrison: "Raferty, start taking statements. The sooner everyone's done here the sooner we can try to sort this mess out."

Raferty: "Yes, sir."

Detective Raferty produces a notepad and pen and approaches the table Ven and co. are hiding underneath.

V"Uhh...hello, Officer. Nice to...see you...again?"

*Meanwhile, Thiera is patting Aroma on the back, who has just sat up & started controlled breathing exercises.*

Dalia found a concealed location, checked for anybody that might see her, and slipped into Alternate Space. She looked around at the suddenly grey world and noticed that, unusually, all of the Homunculi were gathered around her. Having no explanation for this, Dalia walked on past them towards the crime scene. She checked her watch and then peered into the car of the Tyranno Boys and then the Russian's car.

Jin beamed, "Sounds good."

Eve:<Awesome. Wanna meet outside the main gate after school? We can get a ride over from my Mom.>

*Cameron turns on the TV to the local news*

<Let's see how many dead there are day.>

Azuma: "Later, gators."

Mimiru: "Oh God..."

Taiyo: "Bye!"

The girls go back into the school, Azuma making his way back to where the roadblock was.

Raferty: "Nice to see again too. Would you mind if I asked you a few questions about what happened?"

Morrison: "Millar, what do you have for me?"

The dark haired detective flips through a notepad.

Millar: "Looks like Malkovich is still waging his war against the Tyranno Boys. No one has said anything about being threatened by the Russians. Directly at least."

Morrison: "And the apparent vigilante?"

Millar: "No one has seen a thing about that."

The news shows nothing new only recapping what is already known.

V"You can, but you clearly know far more than we do about what happened just now."

Azuma crouched on a nearby roof overlooking the scene, not seeing much but the police scrambling about, bodies being covered, and perpetrators being hauled off.

Azuma: No casualties for once?

No news crews were nearby having been kept back by a blockade. Perhaps there was someone on the force who could keep the media at bay.

Raferty: "I'm afraid it's standard procedure. And too high profile of an incident to just let you go. So let's start with names."

OOC: And I forgot Astarte.

The interior of the Russian's vehichle is not visible due to the tint job on the windows. The interior of the Tyranno Boys vehichle is ratted and littered, a Glock 18 with extended magazine sits on the dash.

Dalia looked around the scene, "Disgusting."

"Sure, sounds good," Jin nodded.

*Eve nods and starts peeling an orange. She stares into the sky, thinking*

Cameron:<Of course.>

*Cameron grumpily turns off the T.V and lays down, thinking about taking a nap*

"...Venezuela Guvera."

"A-aroma Z-zinginzer."

"Thiera Psyche."

Jin took a long drink from her water bottle and then wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, "So, whatcha thinking about?"

Dalia returned to her private location and exited Alternate Space, I thought this city deserved better, but does it? Does it deserve anything?

The scene begins to disperce as a tow truck comes for the vehices leaving only the officers doing their interviews. Most of the media circus left.

Azuma: What happened in there and why is it going smoothly? That's not like this city.

Azuma teleports elsewhere.

Detective Raferty jots down their names.

Raferty: "What can you tell me about before the shooting? Was there anyone around that really stood out? Any stray Tyranno Boys or just anyone who came off as weird?"

V"No, they just drove up in the parking lot & started shooting each other up."

*Eve shakes herself*

Eve:<Finals, homework, mutants. that sort of thing.>

*Cameron falls sound asleep*

"Heh, one of those things is not like the others," Jin replied. "What about Mutants?"

Dalia decided to head home and watch the television or read until nightfall.

Azuma sits atop a hill, a dying tree offering little shade. While similar to the place in the park, it only overlooks manicured grass and rows upon rows of smooth marble. The Manderlay Memorial Cemetary.

Azuma: I never truly mourned for them. I didn't understand why it had happened. I know there is good and evil in this world, but they're something else. Something that should only ever exist in fiction. They're beyond evil. If it was a mugging, I'd understand, but it wasn't. It was just senseless violence.

Raferty jots some more down.

Raferty: "What about whoever put an end to this? Did either of you see or hear anything?"

V"Yes. A big cloud of dust."

*She sniffs.*

V"Make that pollen, actually."

Eve:<Well, the whole situation stresses me out. I wonder if people will start disappearing..........>

*Eve eats one of the orange slices*

<Even people from our school...>

"Hmm... Do you think there could be mo--, uh, Mutants at this school?" Jin asked, looking like an excited child. But then she suddenly looked worried, as though the meaning of what Eve really said just hit her. "It'd suck if there was and they got taken away. Do you think those Mutant Busters look in here?"

Skyler & Stephen Huraka the marble slab read. Another bit about being loving parents or something to that affect had been covered by moss that had begun to dry and flake away.

Azuma: "I don't know what to do. Have I accepted what happened? I don't want to. Acceptance becomes forgiveness and what those monsters did can never be forgiven. I don't want to bring them to justice. Justice is for people. They're animals. And a rabid animal should be put down. But can I put myself in that position? Everynight there are others who take to the streets, putting themselves in that position. Can I be like them?"

???: "What are you babbling about? Do you want revenge or not? Are you going to let evil go unpunished?"

Azuma turns away from the grave, to see a faceless male in a blue fedora and trenchcoat.

???: "If the animals should be put down then do it. Are you waiting for a corrupt police force to handle them or are you going to make your stand? If a wrong has been commited it should be set right, correct?"

Azuma: "Yes."

???: "This city is a cesspool that must be cleansed. The government is too caught up in its own wrongdoings to do it. It is the duty of free-thinking individuals with the drive to take what is rightfully there's from the corrupt and evil. Can you say you are of those individuals?"

Azuma: "I don't know."

???: "There is no I don't know. There is only yes and no."

Azuma: "Yes. I will pursue the evils that plague this city and purge them. I will avenge my parents and those whose lives were also taken by the evil that infects this city."

The faceless man begins to leave.

Azuma: "Who are you? I've answered your questions, now answer mine."

???: "I am one who documents every foul deed that befalls this corrupt city. My name comes from the inquiries I make in my pursuit of their answers."

Azuma: "Inquiry?"

That's pretty queer.

Raferty: "Did you see, hear...or smell anything? Like where the pollen originated from or who?"

V"As far as I can tell, it just kind of popped up out of nowhere."

*She looks back at Aroma & Thiera, who shakes her head & shrugs, respectively. Thiera puts her arm around Aroma, as she's still shaking.*

Eve:<There's probably at least one mutant in out school, and I won't put it passed them to look here.>
