Cabin in the Woods II

Sab smiles, and laces Aroma's fingers between her own, "Better?"

*Euryale waits quietly for someone to take her to a chair.*

*Aroma smiles as well.*

"Yeah. We might have some trouble clapping, though. Heheh...that was a joke."

*Meanwhile, the play begins.*

Sab giggled, but quieted down so she could watch the play.

Azuma retrieves a chair which the two take Euryale to and set her down in.

*Eve looks shocked. and steps a bit closer to see if she can get a better look*

<A fox, maybe?>

Monu:<It's wonderful to see you're feeling better, Euryale.>

*Tirea nods in agreement*

"Thank you all...but I haven't really recovered yet."

*She sinks into the seat, leans back, & closes her eyes for a minute.*

N"Is that really important right now?"

*A shadow flits through the light beam after the creature.*
===============================
*Some time later, the play ends.*

<Well, if it's some kind of monster, it'd be nice to know.>

*Tirea smiles*

<You'll recover soon enough! You're really strong.>

Mimiru: "Ow, damn it."

Mimiru lights the burner, waving her hand that got caught in the flame.

Azuma: "I have matches in my bag for future reference."

*Euryale looks in the direction of the kitchen.*

E"What's going on? Are you okay?"

N"Yeah, instead of worrying about the monsters already chasing us, let's go look for more!"

*The second Roatha turns around, he yells & the light bulb in his flashlight explodes. The other 3 scramble through the leaves, & by the time Thiera turns her lantern on, they've made it about 10 feet. Standing in front of Eve is a silhouette blocking some of the light. It reaches out towards her.*

Mimiru: "Yeah. Just burnt myself. Nothing serious."

The two tend to preparing food.

*Eve starts backward., running after the other three*

[It came from the fox?]

E"You should still have someone look at it. I think Thiera has a first aid kit."

*As she runs, she becomes aware of silhouettes moving to her left & right. The others take a sudden sharp right turn up ahead. Once again, her ears begin to ring. She notices that some kind of smoke keeps getting in her eyes as she runs, & realizes that she can suddenly see her breath.*

*Eve continues to follow the others, speed increasing with fright*

[Here it comes again..]

*She catches up with the others as they're trying to push through a bush. The cabin is in sight just beyond, all of its lights out. As Roatha manages to tumble through, they can see shadows on the end of their peripheral vision. Roatha starts pulling Thiera through.*

*Eve attempts to scrabble though behind Thiera and Roatha*

*They all wind up flat on their backs. From this vantage point, they can see the Shadow Man simply move through the bush. All of the other shadows slither around them, becoming lost in the darkness. The others untangle, quickly as possible. Nero starts running for the door. Roatha grabs Thiera's hand & they run after him.*

*Eve gets up and charges after them, not allowing herself to rejoice yet*

Mimiru: "Yeah, sure."

When they finish what they're doing, Mimiru hands what she was preparing to Taiyo for herself.

Taiyo: "Oh, umm, thanks."

Azuma: "Has anyone washed any silverware? If not, why didn't we try and figure that kind of thing out?"

Have I eaten? I don't recall. Oh, well.

V"I don't know what you want me to do about it."

*Suddenly the door flies open & light spills into the room. Nero barges in & trips over the couch, having shoulder-slammed the door open. Roatha & Thiera follow quickly behind him, the lantern bobbing around in Thiera's free hand. They all look harried & out of breath.*

E"What's going on?!"

*Euryale cranes her neck to get a look past her chair.*

In her room, Astarte was tightly hugging a pillow and mentally blocking everything outside of the room.

"You should see what's going on," Hector told Eduj, who nodded and headed out to the hallway.

Azuma: "What happened to you three?"

Taiyo: "Wasn't there someone else who went with you?"

*Eve runs in after them, then shuts the door behind her*

Tirea<You're all alive!>

Eve:<Indeed. Not only that, but we also have some new information on the shadow monster.>

Monu:<Like what?>

Eve:<Well, we saw one get injured by what looked like some sort of lightning, and these appear to have something to do with the foxes we heard earlier.>

Monu:<There was that dead Fox at the door right before we saw Shadow Man for the first time....>

Eve:<As we were on our way back here, we ran into what looked like a fox, then something happened with its shadow, and then we got attacked again.>

R"What the Hell are you--"

*At that moment, the door pushes open again, so Roatha & Thiera quickly dash themselves against it to slam it shut. Something on the other side keeps hitting it, causing it to crack open before slamming shut again, repeatedly.*

T"Lock it already!"

R"I can't, it's broken!"

*Illuminated by the lantern, they can see that the doorframe has a chunk broken out of it that would ordinarily hold the lock in place.*

*Eve runs over to help hold the door shut*

Eve:<It chased us back.>

Cameron:<Of course it did.>

*Tirea, Cameron, and Monu all come and help*

Eduj looked around the room for a window, and considered the difficulty of breaking it open to escape if the creature made it inside.
