Cabin in the Woods II

And so they eat breakfast.

OOC: Once again, they reached the edge of the cliff several posts back.

"I guess nobody cares," Hector said quietly. Eduj scooped up some water in his hands and sipped cautiously at it. At the first feeling of something solid touching his lips he would drop the water.

He continued to stare at it.

*Later in the afternoon, Aroma says that she has some errands to run, & that she'll meet Sab at the restaurant.*

*It doesn't take long for a few mosquito larvae to quiver past his lips.*

N"So I think the only option is to try to take the cabin back."

*Meanwhile, Stefan's pain quickly becomes unbearable, until he has the unique experience of watching blood gush from his neck in waves as his skin & several major muscles fail. The Shadow Man drops him on the floor, quickly turning scarlet underneath him, & walks over to where the cross was dropped, looking down at it.*

"How?" Hector stared at Nero. Eduj dropped what was left of the water and tried to spit out the larvae without losing all of his water.

Stefan stared at the ceiling, presumably dying and in shock.

After finding little to pass the time with online, Sab decided to take a quick nap. When she awoke she checked the time to make sure she didn't oversleep. Content that she had not, she goes into the bathroom to wash her face, and comb her hair. She makes her way to her closet afterwards and rummages about through her selection of clothes before deciding she had nothing that was nice enough to wear.

Sab fretted over the realization for a few minutes before coming to the conclusion that Aroma wasn't going to be more interested in her dress than Sab herself, or so she hoped, and decided to wear the dress that she found comfortable, and pretty.

The dress she picked was an eggshell colored sheath dress with a high neckline and 3/4th sleeves, and hem that ended at her knees. At the hems of her neck and sleeves were subtle Victorian lacework in a golden thread. It took her much longer than she would have liked to put the damn thing on, as she continuously had to struggle with the zipper, but she was eventually able to dress herself.

Knowing it would be a chilly night, Sab opts for black thigh high cotton socks. She doesn't have shoes that match exactly, but she has a pair of gold flats that are only slightly off the color on the dress, so she puts those on, and ties a black ribbon in her hair because she rarely gets a chance to.

More or less dressed for the night, Sab makes her way back to the bathroom, and puts on a pair of pearl earrings, gifts from her mother, which match her dress. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. Her skills with make-up left much to be desired, so she avoided it in fear of turning herself into a clown, aside from a small bit of clear lip gloss, which she hoped even she could apply correctly.

Sab exited the bathroom, flicking off the light on the way out, and poked her head back into the closet before pulling out a black wool peacoat. The coat came to her knees, and had always been her favorite coat due to how cozy it was. She threw it on, and buttoned it up as she headed out the door. As she started on her way to the restaurant a big smile was plastered firmly on her face.

Eve:<Well, we did see it get seriously injured earlier. If we could replicate that....>

Up a hill they go.

Mimiru: "We're going to get more lost."

Azuma: "We have a vague idea of the way back to the crashsite which one would think would have been found by now."

*The last thing Stefan sees before losing consciousness is the Shadow Man striding out of the door with an air of determination & purpose.*

N"Not sure how we can replicate a lightning bolt. We'll just have to get it to leave, & take the place while it's away. Like capture the flag, or something."

*As they're now apparently heading up the hill, they find it's a rather steep climb. Every step they take knocks loose some rocks & dirt, causing their footing to slide out from beneath them. But they don't get the impression that anything is following them.*

*She finds Aroma waiting outside of the restaurant in the same outfit as earlier, albeit with a coat of lip gloss, a touch of eye shadow, & a pair of earrings with hanging green gems, clip on, because she was too much of a wuss to get her ears pierced. She frowns, seeing bits of Sab's dress poking out of her coat.*

"I under-dressed, didn't I?"

"But we know it can get in, now," Hector said. "Why won't it just follow us inside?"
Eduj tried the water again.

Sab shakes her head, "No, you look wonderful! I probably just got over-excited and got carried away. I actually thought I was under-dressing myself." She ran a hand through her hair, "I feel a bit silly now."

Azuma: "No one bothered to have a cell phone with them, did they? Might get a signal at the top."

Mimiru: "No one bothered to plan to be on a hill in the middle of nowhere."

*Amazingly, Azuma, Monu, & Mimiru manage to get up to the road without dying. When they do, they catch a face full of headlights & an ear full of sirens--a police car driving towards them from the Germany side.*

*Pond sludge.*

N"Well, what do you suggest, we just languish in the woods eating pond bugs? How long until it comes after us here? Besides, we don't even know how it got in. Maybe it was after someone knocked over the barricade."

"N-no, don't, you look fine. I mean, I assume. I haven't seen you take off your coat yet. But your coat looks good. Not...not that I'm saying you should be ashamed of what you have on...underneath...I'm just saying, I know you picked out something nice."

*Some guy passing by looks at them with a raised eyebrow.*

Sab smiled, "Thank you, Aroma. You know, I should send you my dentist bills. You're far too sweet to me."

They shout and wave their arms, trying to flag the cop over.

*The car stops in the middle of the road because there's really nowhere to pull over. The cop gets out with a flashlight, peering at them from behind it & adjusting his hat.*

<Well, I'll be damned. You kids really are out here.>

*Aroma blushes & giggles uncontrollably, holding her fist up to her mouth.*

Sab let out a giggle as well, feeling entirely at ease, "Why don't we step inside, and get our table."

"Didn't you witness that thing exploding furniture? I'm pretty sure the door is no obstacle, barricaded or not," Hector painfully rose to his feet. "But, you are right. It would be better than out here."
Eduj gave up.

Azuma: "Barely."

Mimiru: "There's a handful of others still in the woods somewhere. One's injured pretty badly."

N"Now, listen you li--you agree? Oh...well then...good."

<Just let me call this in.>

*While he's making his way back to his car, something large swoops over head & crashes down on the car. The windshield shatters & the hood crumples, causing one of the lights to point upward & the other out at an odd angle. Between those & the officer's flashlight, they see a new beast; its upper limbs are thick like those of a great ape, but as each limb becomes more distal, it also becomes more spindly, albeit ending in large, sharp talons. The beast's humanlike torso & limbs are covered with what looks like clumps of white fur hanging out at odd places. What it used to fly was a quartet of large, white, bat-like wings, the upper set protruding from its upper "arms" at odd angles. Its mouth is flat & lipless, like the whithered lips of a corpse. Though generally humanoid, it stands haunched, like a velociraptor. It opens its mouth, revealing rows of sharp, stubby black teeth, & screeching in a high pitch, almost electronic wine. The officer stumbles back, grabbing for his gun.*

<What the Hell is this thing?!>

*Aroma enters the restaurant with Sab. When led to their table, she looks over the drinks, but politely waits for Sab to order.*

Assuming the waiter is there waiting for an order, Sab asks for lemonade.

Azuma: "A damn monster, shoot it!"

Eve:<I suppose.>

Cameron:<But can't it just get back inside?>

N"It can get here. The only security we might have is trying to hide from it, because we sure as Hell can't stop it."

*The cop takes a shot, but the beast takes to the air again, diving into a treetop & hiding there.*

"I think lemonade sounds good, too. Make mine pink, please."

*He heads off to go get them drinks.*

Cameron:<Right.>

Eve:<So, how do we go about making this plan?>

Cameron:<Well, who's fast?>

*Tirea and Eve glare at him*
