Cabin in the Woods II

"But what if it isn't?"

*Eve puts her ear against the door, while Tirea gets up to stand beside her*

Taiyo: "I don't know..."

*Eve can hear a door opening & footsteps in the hallway.*

"Maybe we should wake someone up?"

Eve:<There's someone out there.>

Tirea:<Vanessa?>

Eve:<It could be. Is it bad that I don't want to be the first one to go check?>

Tirea:<It's ok, I'm pretty scared myself.>

*Tirea goes over to the wall and knocks three times*

Eve:<What are you...?>

Tirea:<Seeing it anyone's up.>

"I don't know," Sab said, "Maybe it was an accident."

Hector continued listening and considering whether to wake up Eduj or not.

Astarte was asleep again.

Taiyo: "I'm sure everyone else hears it."

"I don't know? If that's the case, why hasn't anyone else checked it out yet? Maybe no one else is awake."

*Nero abruptly shoots up beside Astarte.*

"Bathroom."

Sab shrugged.

Taiyo: "I don't know..."

And so Astarte was abruptly woken once again, and looked up at Nero to groggily reply, "What?"

A"It's just strange. Weren't there, like, professionals at finding people & figuring out whether they're dead or alive investigating the scene?"

N"Nothin', just gotta go."

*He kicks off the covers & crab walks off of the foot of the bed.*

E"I can hear more footsteps. I think someone's getting up to check."

"Okay," Astarte said before closing her eyes and once again trying to sleep.

Taiyo: "Okay."

Taiyo lays back down.

*Nero sets off & opens the door. He sees something in the hallway that Astarte does not.*

N"It's one of those glowy monsters that leads us into the woods, everyone, get up & kill it!"

*Thiera & Roatha shoot up, asking what he's yelling about.*

V"It's me, you idiot."

N"As I recall, they could also mimic voices."

Astarte was already on her feet but now just stared at Nero, unsure of whether to take him seriously at all or just go back to bed.

"I would suppose so, but maybe they just assumed some things," Sab said, "Like, maybe they saw blood, but no bodies and figured they were thrown from the bus, or that animals got to them."

*Eve sighs and opens the door, stepping out into the hallway. Tirea follows a second later*

*Outside, Vanessa, standing facing away from them, is barely illuminated in the orange-red glow of her lighter. Nothing else in the hallway can be seen.*

V"Listen, asshole, I got up because I thought I needed a drink. I've been walking around because I thought something was in here."

N"Why, you hear something?"

V"Well...no. It's just a feeling."

A"See, those sound a lot like amateur mistakes."

*Eve walks up to Nero and Vanessa*

<I heard scratching in the walls a few minutes ago.>

*Tirea waves in greeting*

"My knowledge of crime scene investigation comes from TV shows, so... yeah," Sab said with a shrug.

Azuma steps out, flashlight in hand.

Azuma: "Will ya'll shut the hell up?"

N"No, shut up. We're awake now, so we might as well get up and do things. We need to take a trip to a pond, remember?"

V"I really, really, REALLY hate to say it, but you're right."

A"Well, you know what they say about horses, gifts, and mouths. Well, I'm beat, I think I'm going to bed. I look forward to...what day were we going to go out to that Italian place again?"

"When do you have time?" Sab asked, "I mean, I'm free tomorrow, but that might be too soon."
