Cabin in the Woods II

Azuma: "I'm no mechanic, but I bet the cruiser won't be moving anytime soon. How's the CB system doing, officer?"

"Oooh, can I have pink too!" She called out before the waiter got too far.

*As soon as he turns to check, rather predictably, the beast comes swooping out of the trees. It tackles the officer & begins mauling him with its sharp claws. He tries to fight it off, but it easily shoves his arms out of the way & takes a bite out of his throat. The man lets out a gurgled scream as his flashlight & gun go clattering to the ground next to him.*

"Lol, copycat."

N"If we try to lead it in different directions, it will just split itself apart again."

Cameron:<then what were you thinking?>

*Monu takes a step back*

<Yeah, this was unlucky.>

"Pink lemonade is so much better!" Sab said, "I'm not copying, it is just chance."

Azuma: "We're going back."

Azuma and Mimiru begin to back down the hill.

*Monu follows, running to catch up*

*As if it would be that easy. The monster spins & begins racing down the hill after them, its wings tucked back & its body haunched low to the ground.*

"Uh-huh. Right. Suuuure it is."

*He comes back with 2 things of pink lemonade.*

Cameron:<And how do we decide who gets that job.>

*Cameron looks around*

*Monu dashes down the hill, back towards the forest*

Sab rips off the top of her straw wrapper, and shoots the rest of the wrapper at Aroma's forehead, "Meanie." She then begins to sip her lemonade through the straw.

Azuma: "Bastard!"

The two continue fleeing down the hill.

*The beast catches up to them pretty easily, the impact causing them to roll the rest of the way down. At the base, who should they find but the Shadow Man standing over them. Up above, the beast is now crawling toward them on all fours, about 20 feet up.*

N"I don't know where Vanessa is."

R"If we had a flashlight, we could shine the beam out, lure it to us."

*Aroma tries to retaliate, but the straw wrapper just kind of makes a loop & sails off to parts unknown. Embarrassed, she just starts drinking.*

Sab giggles at that, causing her to make bubbles in her lemonade. She stops that before she looks like a four year old, and goes back to drinking her drink with a smile.

*Monu scrambles over to Azuma and Mimiru*

<(I think we should brave the Shadow man. The others have escaped him before.)>

Cameron:<I left mine in the cabin.>

Eve:<Does anyone have something that produces light?>

Azuma: "And I barely made it out in one piece. If anything we get the hell away from both."

Not waiting for a response, Mimiru hauls Azuma up and the two head back towards the crash site.

*Monu gets up and follows, running to keep pace*

T"I just have my lantern, which you should know, because it's on right now. But it doesn't project a beam, I'm afraid."

*Naturally, the Shadow Man appears in front of them. Strangely, they hear a gunshot go off at the top of the hill. Stranger still, the Shadow Man seems to twist in on himself until he's a convoluted "string" of shadows, which snakes off between the trees to parts unknown. The other monster hears it as well, glancing upward, & then climbing up the nearest tree, rapidly but methodically.*

*At this, the waiter comes back.*

<Are you ladies ready to make your order?>

Tirea:<We could throw the lantern.>

*Monu glances in the direction of the gunshot, while continuing to follow Azuma and Mimiru*

<Why are the monsters afraid of the gunshot? Or is it not even fear...>

Azuma: "No one wants to get shot. But I guess that means the cop is still barely alive. Probably not worth going back with those things skulking about."

<Yeah. This may be a good thing though. If someone comes looking for him.>

"M hm," Sab hummed with a nod, "I'll take the spinach alfredo."

T"That is ridiculous and makes no sense."

*Footsteps can be heard crunching down toward them, but in the darkness, it's impossible to tell who they belong to.*

Woman's voice<I'd move if I were you. That's my special round, but it won't put the shadow down forever. And it would probably only irritate the other one.>

"I'd like linguini marinara, with cheese on top. May I add mushrooms and broccoli to that please?"

<I think that can be arranged, but it might be a little extra, is that okay?>

"That's fine."

<Anything else?>

Azuma: "What the hell? Who are you?"

Mimiru pulls him out of the way.

Mimiru: "Just move."

Sab shakes her head, "No, thank you."

Hector, Eduj and Astarte maintained silence, as none of them were sure how they could do this.
