Old Ones Return (II)

Azuma: "Patamon, fly up and see if there's anything strange about them from above."

Patamon: "I've never seen one of these in my life. One could be on fire and I might think it's normal."

Azuma: "It's not, now up you go."

Patamon flies up above the phonebooths not entirely sure what he should be looking out for.

Taiyo: "See anything?"

*They turn around and take the left path*

Cameron:<Damn this.>

*Biyomon uses Double Fire to try to create some light*

*They are on a curving path, brimming with stalagmites & stalactites.*

*The other path splits into 2 again before too long.*

*Staring into her D-Power.*

"Nothing out in the desert, or in the sky. When he looks to the oasis, it's definitely there. And it's beautiful. But...I'm not sure where a blacksmith would be hiding in it.*

*He sees a mostly uniform sequence of similar contraptions, though occasionally one is standing crooked. The sand around them is hardened & flat, but they already knew that.*

They follow Patamon who flies to a crooked one.

Azuma: "What's up?"

Patamon: "It's kinda crooked."

Azuma: "And?"

Patamon: "I don't know, it's different."

Azuma tries the phone.

Taiyo looks over Euryale's shoulder at the D-Power.

Taiyo: "Wow, it is beautiful."

*They take the left path*

*Kylie and Lunamon continue along*

*The aforementioned oasis runs along a short river, short because it eventually disappears under a rock formation. In the sand surrounding the banks is a blanket of lush ferns, & every so often a palm tree is growing. Grape vines can be seen snaking along the ground & up the trees--the trees themselves hold coconuts. The trees also sport purple-&-white flowers, with tulip-like flowers of all the colors of the rainbow sitting right next to the river. They drop pollen of matching color into the water, making it glitter in many bright colors. The view abruptly cuts towards them as Agumon dives. Euryale looks away because it's not a very pleasant sight watching the POV plummet to the ground. Agumon lands, & reports what Euryale said a couple of posts ago.*

*Kylie & Lunamon come to an area where they see another tunnel besides the one they emerged from heading back, & yet another heading forward.*

*They do no such thing, because there was no branch for them to follow. They continue shambling along in the darkness.*

*This one has garbled speech. He can make out "black," "tree," "mount," "old," & "dij," but not much else."

*Kylie and Lunamon take the second tunnel*

Azuma hangs up.

Azuma: "Black, tree, mount, old, dij?"

Patamon: "What?"

Azuma: "Dunno. Might be worth remembering though. Want to direct us to another crooked booth?"

And so they follow Patamon to another.

Taiyo: "Should we still check it out. In case he missed something?"

*The phone is hanging off of the receiver, emitting a static hiss.*

*They come to a cavernous expanse with another opening right by, & an opening in front of them.*

*As they are walking along, their feet splash in water--the tunnel is partially flooded. Looking into the cave ahead, she can see a massive Zudomon sleeping, partially submerged in the water.*

OOC: I hope "she" meant Lunamon.

*Lunamon looks at Kylie*

<(Should we talk to him?)>

Kylie:<(Maybe.)>

*Kylie steps back a few paces, while Lunamon takes a few steps forward*

Lunamon:<Excuse me?>

*They take a opening in front of them*

Azuma hangs the reciever up.

Azuma: "This looks like a bust. Any new ideas?"

Patamon: "Regroup with the others?"

Azuma: "Might as well."

They begin heading back to the rock formations.

Taiyo: "Err...nothing. We don't have to go to it."

*The Zudomon stirs, sending mini waves crashing over their feet. It moves around until it faces them, & peers down. Its breath is like a foul wind, & its tusks are taller than they are. The cave shakes when it props itself up on its arms. Cameron & Biyomon also arrive to this sight.*

E"Yeah...might be a good idea to regroup."

*They arrive back at the spikes, presumably noticing Taiyo & Euryale also heading back.*

Azuma: "Guess we're not the only ones who found nothing."

*Lunamon grins and waves*

<Very sorry for waking you up, sir. We were wondering if you either were or know where someone called the blacksmith is.>

*It opens its mouth. The good news is, it couldn't swallow them whole. The bad news is, it could easily bite them in half.*

<Blacksmith is an occupation. There is no such thing as "THE blacksmith.">

*Seeing that Azuma & Hitomi are heading back, Euryale decides to stop & wait for them, & informs everyone else of such.*

OOC: Everyone Calls Him Blacksmith.

When they arrive, Azuma informs them of their discovery.

Azuma: "Looks like all's that's left is the caves."

Lunamon:<Oh yeah, sorry. We were told that there was a blacksmith around here that could create weapons to help as fight the bad people that destroyed the jungle village.>

<Surely you mean the local desert village? The ones who relocated to the jungle recently, when their village was destroyed? If so, how is Lillymon doing, I'd heard she became the new chief?>

"I guess that's right."

*And so they head off for the caves.*

"Can anyone see in the dark?"

Lunamon:<She was destroyed by the bad people who we need the weapons to fight.>

Azuma: "I have a lighter. Anything an inch and a half away will be easy to spot."

Taiyo: "I bet Gatomon can."

She looks at Renamon.

Taiyo: "I bet you can too."

"Good, we're set then, we'll just follow whichever paths lead to these signals."

*She points at her D-Power.*

*He looks around over them all.*

<Where is the warrior girl? I need...her measurements.>

And so they follow along to the caves.

Kylie:<Do you mean Euryale? She went to check out the oasis, but hopefully she'll come here soon.>

<Eur...y...ale. That's a pretty name. Wake me again when you're all assembled, I hate repeating myself.>

*It rolls over to go back to sleep.*

*Once at the caves, they find the aforementioned trio of paths.*

"Umm...looks like they're closest to the center."

Lunamon:<Ok!>

*Lunamon and Kylie wander over to Cameron and Biyomon*

Biyomon:<Should we wait here?>

Lunamon:<I guess we should wait for a little while.>
