The Arrival

Yeah, Hector has called someone about it.

"At the moment, not really," Hector said. "But you need to keep away from the trees, and make sure the others are looking out for this thing, if you can. Oh, also, there was someone else there who saw all of this. I think she said she was called Gabriel. She jogged onto the scene and the creature left, then we ran away and somehow ended up on a hill, then we ran into her friends by the college... it was disorienting and weird. But yeah."

Grimm turned on the TV, but didn't put his things away.

T"Good idea, Taiyo."

*She sends Roatha a message to find a list of orphanages & go through them.*

*He shows Nero the message.*

N"Sounds tedious & annoying."

Mimiru: "Not with that attitude."

Mimiru not being beside them or anything doesn't even see the phones screen.

Awesome. We're going to pick up new supplies in case the Shadow comes back, do you need anything.>

*Eve looks up a list of local orphanages and starts going though them*

"She seemed pretty shaken up. You might want to contact her about it or something," Hector said.

I don't think so. What are you thinking of getting there?

"I don't think I have her number, but I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the warning."

*Eve eventually finds a page that mentions the church.*

*Eve reads though the page*

Taiyo: "Are we going to look for something about it here?"

"No problem, look after yourself," Hector said before ending the call.

*Thiera checks her messages.*

T"Yeah. If you could go look in theology for anything that mentions the church, I'll go look in records."

E"B--well then."

*She hangs up, putting her phone away & walking back to the others.*

*It just says that the orphanage was constructed in the early 1900s, and burned down 23 years ago. It is noted that there were 7 deaths, 5 orphans & 2 staff.*

N"Boom, he's mentioned in an old story about the fire."

R"So he came from there?"

N"Looks like it."

*Roatha lets out a "hmm" as he types up a message to Thiera.*

*Eve looks for any reference to Grimm*

She latches on to Euryale's arm.

Taiyo: "Or..."

*Euryale smiles at Taiyo. Thiera has headed off to parts unknown.*

"Let's finish our research project first."

*Her smile falters.*

"Oh...& I have something to tell you about when everyone gets back together."

R"Well, I think we've found all that we're going to find. I'm gonna log off & go see what they've got."

*And that is what he does.*

*Eve does the same, then follows Roatha and Nero*

Taiyo: "That can't be good."

Mimiru logs off and heads out.

E"Unfortunately it's not, but I don't think it's anything we can't deal with."

*Once they find the theology section, Euryale surveys the books & pulls out a volume called "Protestant Reformation: Understanding the Different Denominations," & another, "Religions of the Black Forest Region." Roatha spots them & heads over, presumably followed by his entourage.*

R"Hey. You find anything?"

E"I got these, which probably mention his sect. I don't see anything else that might go into detail about that, but this one might say something about the Shadow Man."

*She pulls out a 2nd title, "Demonology."*

E"Hey, she's not expecting us to read these, is she?"

R"Let you take her precious research books? Don't worry, she'll probably blow through them in a day or so."

Taiyo looks through the stacks, not too keen about the bad news on the horizon.

Eve:<I'll take a look at the 'Demonology' book.>

R"Seriously. You don't want to get between her & her books."

*Thiera comes back with a bunch of printouts held together by paperclip.*

E"Now that we're all together, there's something I need to warn you all about: I got a call from Hector, who says they were attacked by a new monster, in the forest around the town. He says it was black with big, red eyes, & that it had wings."

N"So...how big? How many legs? Does it have claws? That's not very informative."

E"Now that you mention it, not really. We'll have to try to get more information later."

T"I have a warning too: It's starting to get dark out."

R"Shit, we didn't even think about having to walk back home in the dark. But we all live in the dorms, right? So at least we can stay in a group."

Eve:<Yes.>

*Eve stares at the ground, not looking very happy*

Mimiru: "Except for those in different buildings."

R"Almost everyone on campus lives in the same building."
