Episode Two: The Point of Absolute Zero

Hitomi jumps down to the beach and walks towards the water.

Salamon: "Why are you going towards the water?"

Hitomi: "You don't hear it?"

Salamon shakes her head. Hitomi looks over her shoulder at Azuma.

Azuma: "I had hoped if I ignored it it'd go away."

He turns to Aroma.

Azuma: "What do you see when you look out to the ocean?"

It's not long before they see the rectangles shown on the map in the distance. Upon closer inspection they turn out to be a row of six phonebooths. The others are barely in view.

Cameron:<What are you guys talking about?>

*He looks in the direction Hitomi is looking in. Eve follows the group looking for shelter*

*Aroma snaps to attention & looks out over the water, even squinting her eyes.*

"Umm...I don't understand the question."

*He looks to at least see if they can be opened without letting a bunch of snow in. Dorumon, meanwhile, opens one & pulls out a phone, because he is too stupid to understand that phones need to be connected to other phones in order to work. He is also likely holding it upside-down.*

<Hello?>

He sees the ocean. Calm, blue, and inviting under normal circumstances. As does Aroma and whomever looks out to sea.

Azuma: "Does it appear normal?"

He looks back to Hitomi who shakes her head as if telling him to stop.

Azuma: "Disregard what I'm saying."

Operator: "At the tone, the time will be..."

It's followed by a bloodcurdling scream.

The door on the booths are bifolding, so they push much of the snow away. Whether or not the door will close again is another issue.

Cameron:<If you're seeing something different, you need to tell us.>

*Eve heads over to the one Roatha is inspecting*

<I don't suppose it works?>

R"Of course it won't work, why would it?"

*Roatha tries to close the door again, but also looks up when Dorumon stumbles back.*

R"Are you okay?"

D<Are...are you okay, lady?>

*Aroma just stands there confused.*

E"Guilmon, do you still have any heat powers at all? Can you use them?"

<I guess I can try....>

*He tries to focus heat into his jaw, like he could when he was Gigimon.*

Azuma: "If it's not affecting the group as a whole, it isn't a group problem."

He looks past Hitomi to the ocean where he can see its waters flicker between a clear blue to black.

A fire builds in Guilmon's mouth, of course in his weakened condition, it's not exactly a strong flame.

Holding the phone upside down, he's talking into the earpiece. The line is dead and he may have heard a murder.

In other news, with some struggling the door does close.

D<There was someone on this line.>

R"Really?"

*He re-opens the door, & picks up the phone.*

R"Hey?"

A"No...if it affects even one of us, it is a group problem."

G<I feel a whole flame!>

E"Well, that will burn us. You think you can just make it kind of warm?"

G<Couldn't I just lick your feet?>

E"I guess, but that's kinda gross."

*So he tries to do what Euryale told him to do.*

Cameron:<I agree.>

*Biyomon goes over to Aroma and Euryale*

<Can I help?>

*Eve and Terriermon enter*

<What happened?>

Azuma: "I guess they're right. Care to explain with me?"

Hitomi shakes her head, but turns away from the ocean and its black waters as she sees them.

Azuma: "Since that rift and Tokomon's emergence, I've been uh...having some pretty weird dreams. On top of...I don't know if they're hallucinations or what. But I think it has something to do with water or the ocean, but if it's just us who're involved there's likely not much anyone else can do."

The booth is rather cramped, but shows two people can fit into one.

Operator: "The number you have dialed does not exist. Please hang up, and never call again."

*Aroma scratches her head.*

"What?"

"Uh. Why not?"

*Dorumon tries yet another phone.*

Cameron:<Weird. Well, if this had never happened, I'd say it was nothing. Maybe we should stay away from the ocean.>

*Biyomon tries to heat himself up with his own fire. Lunamon stares into the water, looking for fish*

*Eve stands awkwardly in the back*

Azuma: "Hard to do on a beach. Especially if the ocean is how we're going to avoid starving today."

Can't avoid the ocean in my dreams.

There are little shallow water dwelling fish. Then the tide comes in and Lunamon gets soaked by waist high ice water.

Operator: "At the tone, the time will be forty degrees farenheit."

<That doesn't make any sense.>

"I don't know what's going on here, but we need to get back to Taiyurle, quickly."

<I agree. Let's go.>

*Eve heads out, stopping to wait for Roatha*

*Lunamon shakes off, and tries to grab some of the tiny fish*

Cameron:<I know that.>

Azuma: "Then why suggest it?"

It wiggles out of her grasp in such an elaborate manner she gets hit with its tail. The tide comes in again, knocking her over. When the water pulls back there is a crab on her face.

Azuma: "Find anything?"

R"A bunch of phone booths. Two people should be able to get inside one, with some protection from the elements."

E"...You're kidding, right?"

R"Unfortunately, no. Don't answer the phones, I think there are insane ghosts on the other end, or something."

Lunamon:<How about crab for dinner?>

*She looks excited. Kylie stares at the crab*

Eve:<While you two rest, the rest of us can hunt for food.>

The crab begins to scuttle away.

Taiyo: "A phone booth is better than nothing, I guess. Except for the ghosts."

Renamon jumps down to the beach.

*Lunamon grabs the crab and brings it over to the others*

<Dinner?>

*Euryale tries to make it down the embankment, but they end up falling & rolling down again.*

E"Damn it! Are you okay, Taiyo?"

OOC: Damn you all post fast.

Hibiki and BlkAgumon have since returned and have started looking for wood or anything flamable enough to build a fire with since they'll need to cook whatever it is they intend to eat.

There being a forest three feet away, that's not a difficult task.

Taiyo: "Yeah, could be better."

Renamon helps Taiyo up who in turn tries to help Euryale up.

OOC: Also apparently I've been calling my char by the wrong name lol so instead of Yuhei he's Hibiki from now on.

They bring the wood back.

"For when we cook the fish."

<How do you cook crab?>

*Lunamon waves the poor crab around*
