Old Ones Return (III)

Hitomi didn't go too far into the jungle and continues on when everyone else arrives on the scene.

Taomon repeats her previous action of defending against the attacks with a Ying Yang shield and counters, throwing a bunch of paper sutras as the Divermon holding on to Kylie.

*Kylie slowly turns her head and stares at the Paraismon, a look of fear in her eyes. Moonmon jumps up and shot a sphere of dark energy at it*

*Cameron continues to help carry Euryale*

*Okay, now they're on the other beach, for some reason.*

*Kylie is free now, but MarineDevimon's tentacle makes a grab for her, while its other one tries to reach around Taomon's shield. For their part, the Divermon run around, trying to make a perimeter around the 2.*

*Kylie runs away from the MD, shaking her arm to try and throw the Paraismon off*

*Cameron looks behind him to see if they're being followed*

Hitomi: "The others are on that island."

Azuma: "Damn it, we have to go now."

Taiyo fumbles to reengage the Aero Wing card if neccessary which Taomon uses on the encroaching tentacles before picking up Taiyo under one arm and throwing a handful of sutras at the Divermon closest to her as she moves to grab Kylie.

*Devimon spits a cloud of ink at them & the Divermon shoot them. Taomon now has them both, but the Parasimon has burrowed through Kylie's clothes & started to meld with her skin.*

<You heard Bancho Leomon, once we're out of here, he'll send the others after us! If we don't go, it'll just get more of us killed!>

Azuma curses under his breath while Hitomi activates the whatchamacallit.

Taomon evades the attacks by taking flight and heads back towards the island.

*Cameron looks very worried and bites his lip, but understands why they're doing this*

Biyomon:<She'll be alright.>

*He pats Cameron on the arm*

Kylie:<Help me...>

*Kylie whimpers and hugs Moonmon, who stares at the Paraismon*

*Parasimon hisses at Moonmon. Much of Taomon's lower body is doused in the ink, but the partial paralysis doesn't really affect her once she's in the air.*

<GET THEM YOU FOOLlS!>

*The Divermon try to shoot them with the spear guns again. The Parasimon begins to rapidly sink into Kylie's flesh.*

*Once they appear back in the lab, Kurata rushes forwards.*

Kurata<My God, what happen--en--eh--!>

*He sneezes on Agumon, whose only indication that he noticed is closing his eyes. He then regresses to Koromon & wraps his ears around Euryale's upper arm as some blood bubbles from her mouth.*

*Moonmon tries to head butt the Paraismon*

Biyomon:<They were ready for us. Even with our ultimate, we only escaped because a group of leomon saved us.>

Cameron:<My sister and Taiyo are still in the digital world. They need help, but Euryale needs it even more right now.>

Azuma: "We can explain later."

Taomon looks over her shoulder and flies higher or lower depending on where the harpoon is coming from.

*Kurata rushes back to his terminal & pushes a button, yelling into a speaker.*

<We need medics in the Digital Gate Chamber! This is an emergency!>

*By flying higher, she generally avoids the harpoons. All that Moonmon's "attack" does is cause one of Parasimon's tentacles to start fusing with its head. By this point, the Parasimon has almost completely disappeared inside of Kylie.*

*Kylie tries to pull the tentacle off of Moonmon*

Kylie:<Not you too!>

*Cameron sits down next to Biyomon*

Azuma sets Euryale down against a wall or something.

Salamon: "Now seems like as good of time as any. This is all your fault!"

Azuma: "It is, isn't it?"

Salamon: "Yes, stupid! If you weren't gung-ho on going out and attacking them, Euryale would still be in one piece and we'd know what's going on with those other two."

Still flying until she reaches the beach where she lands, setting the two down.

*She manages to break the tentacle off, but part of it has disappeared inside of Moonmon, & the Parasimon is no longer visible on her. Once they touch down, Taomon & Kylie collapse--Taomon because her legs are partially paralyzed from MarineDevimon's ink, & Kylie because she suddenly feels very drowsy. Several black shapes can be seen moving through the water on the horizon.*

*Kurata heads over to open the door. When he turns around, he steps back & his glasses fall off.*

Kurata<S--Senthose! What are you doing here?!>

*Sure enough, everyone's favorite evil mercenary is standing in front of the Digital Gate with his gun drawn.*

Senthose<Did I say this was over? First let's get rid of this pesky little thing.>

*He shoots the control panel for the Digital Gate. Fragments of metal, plastic, & wire clutter to the floor as sparks shoot out of it.*

Senthose<And now the other half of making sure you stop interfering with our plans.>

*He takes aim & fires at Kurata's chest. Kurata goes down, but there is a conspicuous lack of blood. This is something Senthose seems to miss as he turns & disappears through a Space Oscillation Portal.*

Azuma goes to Kurata.

Azuma: "Damn it, not you to."

Taiyo fumbles to activate the device while Taomon reverts back to Renamon, so she can gather the two up and hopefully leave.

Moonmon:<Kylie!>

*Moonmon moves back her sleeve, to see that paraismon that disappear*

<No, no, NO!>

*Cameron follows Azuma*

<There's no blood.>

*Kurata groans & brings himself to a sitting position, rubbing his head.*

Kurata<Good thing...I had the foresight...to wear this bulletproof vest...didn't expect it to still hurt that much, though.>

*Incidentally, Azuma might notice that he hasn't been wearing a coat for a while now. Where it once was, instead, a card falls off of his back.*

Azuma: "Happy to hear that, now about those med staff?"

Taiyo fumbles around and activates it.

*Kylie tries to stand, but falls over*

*Cameron checks to make sure Euryale hasn't died*

<My apologies.>

*He spins a few times, kicking everyone through the portal. As it closes, they can see him kicking away MarineDevimon's tentacles, & a SaberLeomon with a large gash of exposed gridlines on its side jumping towards it.*

Kurata<I can't make them get here any faster. Just have patience, they'll be here soon.>

*Kurata stands up & dusts himself off, a bullet falling off of him & plinking on the floor. Suddenly, assholes fall out of a hole in the air. As attention will surely be refocused on Euryale, the area around her eyes is now turning blue & swelling, & Koromon's closed his eyes & started sniffling, which pretty much shakes his whole body.*

*Cameron and Biyomon run over to Kylie, who is laying on the ground*

Moonmon:<She's got some kind of parasite!>

Kylie:<What happened to Euryale?>

Biyomon:<Senthose happened.>

Taiyo crawls over to Euryale and takes her hand, wincing.

Taiyo: "Euryale! Say something, please."

She closes her watering eyes, trying to fight back the tears.

Don't cry. Big girls don't cry.

Kurata<A parasite, you say?>

Medic<Please stand aside, Professor!>

*Kurata picks up his glasses & puts them back on, before stepping aside & pressing himself against the wall. Paramedics come rushing in with a trio of stretchers, several first aid kits, & a couple of defibrillators. As they crowd into the room, they see Euryale. A pair of paramedics move to her, 1 grabbing her shoulders, the other her ankles*

Medic<She stopped breathing, we'll have to get her down quickly! Get that other one on a stretcher.>

*He nods, towards where Kylie had suddenly seized up, & fallen into a deep sleep.*

Medic<Anyone not busy with these 2 patients, take care of first aid for the others!>

Taiyo tries to follow the medics who have Euryale, not wanting to leave her.
