*Still, Gomamon is forced to wait until the mouth fills with water, so that the pressure is equalized & he can swim out of Whamon's mouth. As he goes, he Digivolves & starts towards the surface. But even as they do so, a trio of Submarimon swim after them, spinning their drill noses & firing Oxygen Torpedoes at them.*

*Cameron and Kylie both hand over their digivices sadly*

Lunamon:<All of our partners need us! We have to get to them as soon as possible, so let him carry you.>

Azuma: "You won't get there on your own."

Taiyo deploys the lasso from her D-Power, directing it at Mummymon's neck.

*After putting the other D-Powers into his bag, he breaks the lasso with only a moderate amount of difficulty.*

Arukenimon<...Of course, just because you NEED help, that doesn't mean that your'e going to get it!>

*Looking around, they spy Arukenimon lounging atop a Spire.*

*All 3 Digimon are struck by Oxygen Torpedoes, still 10 feet from the surface, & with the Submarimon gaining fast.*

Patamon spits a Boom Bubble at Arukenimon.

While it's distracted, Renamon takes a swing at Mummymon.

Hideki swipes Darkness Wave, Monodramon attacking in Submarimon's direction.

*Kotemon nor his digivolution can really do anything underwater, so he just holds on tightly*

*Arukenimon bats the Boom Bubble away & jumps down. DemiDevimon raises her hair & hisses at her.*

Arukenimon<I'm here to take you to The King. Come quietly, & you won't be hurt.>

*Monodramon is successful at fending off a Submarimon. The other 2 stab into Ikkakumon when he breaks the surface. He growls like a wounded walrus.*

"Gomamon!"

*About 30 feet away, they can see a barren island with a glowing purple pillar extending into the sky. Underneath them, they can see the silhouette of Whamon snapping at a sea serpent, trying to keep it at bay, & a pair of what might be dolphins approaching them. Leomon breaks the surface nearby, draws his knife in a reverse grip, & begins swimming towards them.*

Patamon: "Sounds unbelievable."

Monodramon Digivolves and takes to swining at the Submarimon.

*Kotemon does the same and attacks the other one*

Lunamon:<We don't have a choice...>

*Not as much of an advantage in close quarters combat, they smash the faces of the Submarimon, exposing their juicy controls. They pull their noses from Ikkakumon & jab at their attackers. For his part, Ikkakumon tries to avoid reverting. As his size fluctuates slightly & he glows, he fires Harpoon Torpedoes at the approaching Digimon. They evade his attacks & counter with pressure waves that ripple the water, though Leomon grabs on to one of the Submarimon, using a kind of red cape to protect himself from the red blobs, & stabs it to death. At the end of it, his cape is frayed & has a few holes burned into it.*

*While he says that, Mummymon grabs Taiyo's D-Power.*

Arukenimon<The King just wants fans & riches. So I will also be needing all of your valuables, starting with your D-Powers.>

D<We don't need to listen to her! We can easily get away!>

*Arukenimon laughs.*

Strikedramon Darkness Waves a Submarimon.

OOC: And so Euryale's toe is spared, not that it should have been in such serious jeopardy in the first place....

*He marches them to the dome, which turns out to be built a bit like a Colosseum or a stadium. Of course, since they had to traverse the barren desert on foot with the sun beating down on them, by the time they get there, they are exhausted, sweaty, dry of throat, & slightly burned. Inside is a torch-lit corridor, filled with rows upon rows of jail cells, mostly filled with Geckomon. Etemon approaches, so Mummymon claps & gives a bow.*

Etemon<Don't be butterin' me up! What took ya?>

*He snatches away the bag of D-Powers from Mummymon & looks inside.*

Mummymon<This one kept attacking me.>

*He points to Renamon. Etemon looks up & pulls off his glasses, leaning in.*

Etemon<A mosher, huh? I like that in a woman.>

*And so he puts his glasses back on, & starts swaying, as though to inaudible music.*

Etemon<You'll all make fine additions to my collection! After all, you can never have too many fans!>

Arukenimon<Don't you want to be reunited with your friend?>

D<...Fine. But not because everyone else is doing it!>

Arukenimon<That's perfect. So you, the big stupid one & his ugly assistant, hand me the D-Powers like your friend did, & start heading for the Concert Hall.>

*Gladimon & Submarimon stab each other, with Submarimon succumbing to its wounds. Strikedramon destroys his opponent before it reaches him. Ikkakumon is finally forced to revert, sending waves of fishes at his attackers, several of which immediately become ripped apart by unseen assailants. Leomon rips a Dolphmon out of the water, stabbing it & firing a Fist of the Beast King into it. Needless to say, it does not survive.*

Leomon<Keep going!>

*Down below, the water glows with the data of a slain Whamon, briefly, before it is absorbed. MegaSeadramon bursts from the water, aiming its electrified horn at Leomon.*

*Gladimon charges back towards the humans, grabbing Gomamon. Then head away from the shore*

Renamon's initial reaction is to punch Etemon in the face until Taiyo grabs her hand.

Strikedramon and Hideki head to shore.

*Leomon leaps from the water, elongating his knife into a sword. He charges it up with a Fist of the Beast King & smacks MegaSeadramon upside the head with it, successfully breaking his horn. However, he does not survive MegaSeadramon's ice breath counter attack. The BioHybrid then loads the data of the warrior with a lion's heart. Meanwhile, some Orcamon break through the fish barrier & make landfall behind the group as they are running for the data stream. They start screeching, sending visible waves of pressure through the air that break apart nearby rocks.*

Etemon<Next concert's in 15 minutes. Until then, stick 'em in that one over there.>

*He points to a cage where a Geckomon & an Otamon are pressed up against the bars, staring at the new arrivals curiously. Mummymon opens the door, pushes them inside, & locks it again. They can see that the cell has a toilet & sink, but no privacy or beds. The Digimon had scrambled away from the door when Mummymon opened it, & are now huddled in the corner.*

*Arukenimon whistles for her Hipogriffomon so that she doesn't have to walk. She also pulls out a parasol with a design similar to her gloves & opens it to help protect her from the sun.*

Arukenimon<Good thing you have more sense than your friends. I watched them fight Mummymon from the Spire, but they gave up in the end. Everyone always does. The only question is if they quit while everyone was still in one piece.>

D<When I'm LadyDevimon again, I'm going to tear off each one of your legs & use you like one of those inflatable punching bags.>

Arukenimon<Ha! You're far from the first to threaten my legs, kid, but points for the other thing. But you'll never Digivolve again. By the time you figure out how the King can jam your Digivolutions, it will be too late to stop it.>

Taiyo looks about the cell for Euryale.

*Gladimon doesn't have any long range attacks, so he grabs Lyra and keeps moving*

*They pass through the data stream only to find a battle taking place on the other side. A group of Mammothmon are trying to blockade a passage, while a group of converted Triceramon charge against them, & a group of converted Birdramon bomb them from above. Also, the Orcamon follow them through the data stream.*

Gekomon<If...if you're looking for your other human friend, she's in a different cell. But she can't answer you, 'cause she's gagged, & probably chained up.>

Otamon<You are humans, right? We've heard of them, but never seen them before...are you friendly, or...?>

*Following his gaze, DemiDevimon hops on Azuma's shoulder & makes a shushing gesture with her foot. Then she flies over to Lunamon, grabs her, & keeps flying off to hide behind a Spire.*

Cameron:<Yes, don't worry, we're friendly.>

*He bends down and puts an arm around Kylie*

Gekomon<...Probably not. With so many prisoners, they get lazy.>

Otamon<They only beat you if the chains & gags don't work....>

*Eventually, they lose sight of the others.*

D<...Azuma was looking at this thing pretty closely. I think he came to the same conclusion I did. So...Demi Dart! Ahhh!>

*She spits a dart at it only to do a wild spin to try to avoid getting hit with her own attack when it bounces off of the Spire with no effect.*

*Arukenimon eventually leads them to another gate where they intercept Etemon & Mummymon.*

Etemon<More fans? Great! You kids are on a roll today.>

*Arukenimon blushes heavily, takes her hat off, & fans herself with it.*

Arukenimon<Anything for you, Etemon. You're the greatest.>

*Etemon takes her hat & signs it, at which point she faints, & Mummymon catches her, grinning sheepishly.*

Taiyo: "Oh....that's reassuring."
