Episode Eight: Home

R"Someone's out to get us again."

*Roatha starts taking down the poster.*

A"Oh...I guess...."

E"...Do you want to still come with us?"

A"Ah, yes! If--if you don't mind...."

E"...Are you sure you don't want to stay home?"

A"Well...I guess I could...."

E"Aroma, are you aware that 'no' is an acceptable answer?"

Eve:<Isn't someone always?>

*Eve shakes her head*

<Let's get out of here.>

*I assume they eventually get to their neighborhood*

Taiyo: "It's okay if you do and it's okay if you don't."

In their neighborhood, the notice a foul odor coming from a drain. Take your least favorite smells, put them together and that's what they're smelling.

Outside an apartment building, Hitomi stares at a navy blue Dodge Caliber parked on the street.

Azuma: "What's up?"

Hitomi: "They're home."

She begins to head inside pretty much dragging Azuma along into the lobby area. It's a fairly old building featuring a birdcage elevator which they take to the seventh floor.

A"I would like to come with you."

E"Great."

*Roatha tries to get away from the smell.*

*Pretty sure the smell is coming from the Sorensons' neighborhood, so they hurry away from the smell*

*Eve walks along silently*

For convenience sake, Euryale's house is closest, so they begin heading there next, getting odd looks as they have a dinosaur with them.

Dorumon attracts some unwanted attention, someone remarking that they heard rumors or things being mutated by the radiation from the Fukushima plant.

The smells spans the entire block, making escaping from it difficult. Presumably they get to their doorstep, the smell lingering.

They stand outside of apartment 701.

Azuma: "I should head home."

Hitomi answers by opening the door, her parents standing there and essentially swarm her in a group hug.

*Kylie gulps as they approach the door. When they get there, Cameron knocks on the door. After a moment, their father answers, and upon seeing them, drops the vase he's holding and grabs his kids in a bear hug*

Lunamon:<Hi dad!>

*Mr. Sorenson's mouth drops open, and he takes a step back*

Cameron:<We need to talk.>

Mr. Sorenson:<Agreed.>

*They enter the house with their partners*

Eve:<(Hey Dorumon, you should di-digivolve.)>

D<No.>

"Oh, but you'll start talking, that's just great."

D<No one complains when YOU do it.>

"They complain about that frequently."

*Euryale's parents, who are essentially the same as their BDM counterparts, have much the same reaction as Hitomi's.*

Taiyo hangs back, possibly trying to hide behind Aroma so as not to disturb the reunion.

This brings more attention to them, a man somewhere in his twenties approaching them, gawking at Dorumon.

Man: "Excuse me, but do you mind if I ask what this talking animal is?"

The smell lingers around, coming in through the open door.

Mrs. Alla: "Where have you been? It's been three days?"

Hitomi: "It's a long story."

Mr. Alla breaks off from the group hug and approaches Azuma, weary of some skeezy looking guy carrying a weirdo rodent thing.

Mr. Alla: "And who might you be?"

Azuma: "Azuma Huraka...."

He gives a nervous slight bow, stammering to say something next.

Hitomi: "He's my....friend. He means a lot to me."

This elects shocked looks from everyone.

*Cameron hurries to close it, while Yokomon digivolves*

Biyomon:<It's nice to finally get to talk to you.>

Mr. Sorenson:<Not to be rude, but what are you and why are you creeping around my children?>

Lunamon:<We're digimon!>

Kylie:<Dad, it's a really long story...>

*Eve groans, then looks at Roatha*

R"I think you just answered your own question."

D<It's rude to stare, you know.>

Father<Where have you been?>

Mother<And who are these people?>

E"It's a long story, I'm not sure where to start...."

Father<Start at the beginning.>

E"The beginning? Okay...a few years ago, a talking red lizard came out of my TV, carrying a small mechanical device in its mouth. He told me that his name was Gigimon & I agreed to take him in, but then other monsters started to attack us, & that's why I took up all of those self-defense classes recently. I didn't know if I'd be allowed to keep him, so I kept him a secret this whole time. Then one day in the park, I met other people like me, & we were transported to another world where the monsters came from. We were told that it was the Digital World, that the creatures were called Digimon, & we were chosen to save it from Millenniummon, who leads all of the evil Digimon. While there, we defeated several evil Digimon, I started dating Taiyo & became friends with Aroma & some others whom I'm sure you'll meet later. Then we followed something that looked like a jellyfish with a contact lens into a computer screen & fought it in some strange place as it Digivolved to multiple forms. When we killed its last form, we found ourselves back in the park where it all began, not knowing how much time had passed or why we were transported back without killing Milllenniummon, so we decided to return to our individual homes & check up on things."

*She starts panting.*

Father<...Do you seriously expect us to believe that story, Young Lady?>

*Just then, Guilmon noses past them.*

G<Hi!>

*Euryale's parents scream, her father punching him in the nose. Guilmon tears up & turns to Euryale, covering his nose. She rubs his head.*

G<He hit my nOje!>

E"I know, I know, but he didn't mean it...did you, Dad?"

Father<...What?>

E"Apologize to Guilmon!"

Father<I'm...sorry...?>

Taiyo waves nervously.

Taiyo: "Hi....?"

The dude walks away, kinda pissed mumbling something that sounds like "What a fart-blasting scrotum this guy is." Other people stare although no one approaches.

The Alla's invite Azuma and Patamon in where they tell their story.

*He punches her in the nose too.*

E"Dad! Didn't you learn your lesson the first time!? Now, say you're sorry."

Father<...SORRY....>

E"Good. Now, Taiyo, tell him that you accept his apology...."

*Guilmon shoots a Pyro Sphere at a squirrel.*

*Dorumon takes the initiative & shoots a metal sphere into his back, roughly at the speed of an underhand baseball throw.*

R"What did you do that for?!"

D<He was being a jerk!>

*The Rakshashis mostly just stare at her in confusion.*

E"So can we come into my own house now? We could probably use a shower. Showers! You know what I mean...."

*They look at each other, still confused, then step aside to let everyone enter.*

*Eve runs over to the guy*

<Oh god, are you alright?!>

Cameron:<So, basically, we have to save this alternate universe.>

*Mr. Sorenson just stares at his children*

<I'm glad you're back now. What can I do for you both?>

Kylie:<I might need to see a doctor...>

*Mr Sorenson starts examining Kylie's wounds while Cameron gets in the shower*

Taiyo hesitates and looks around outside until Renamon makes her appearance.

Taiyo: "It's okay for all of us to come inside?"

The dude starts swearing while onlookers freak out. It's quite likely someone called the police or at least animal control.

Mr. Alla: "You're bound to her?"

Azuma: "I suppose that's one way of putting it. It wasn't a moment either of us would like to remember."

Mother<...Are the Digimon-->

E"Please don't finish that question. Just come in, it'll be fine, you'll see."

*Euryale gently pushes each of them towards the entrance, starting with Taiyo, then Aroma, Guilmon, & Renamon.*

*Roatha grabs Dorumon & starts running.*

R"Let's go!"

*He stops beside the guy briefly.*

R"Just for the record, you are a jerk, & you totally deserved that."

*Then he keeps going.*

*Eve runs after Roatha, Terriermon hanging on for dear life*

<(Roatha!?)>

*Mr Sorenson gets out a first aid kit and start fixing Kylie up*

They all go inside for what will likely be a very awkward meeting.

No one tries to stop them. They'll likely see the whole thing on YouTube in a matter of minutes.

R"What?"

*Euryale points. Her parents close the door, still confused.*

E"Alright, well, there's the living room. Make yourselves at home. Can we get anyone anything to eat or drink?"

Eve:<Dorumon could have seriously hurt that man. Whether or not you two think he deserved it, you can't go around attacking people.>

*Once Kylie is fixed up, she gets a shower*

Taiyo: "I'm okay."

She clutches her stomach trying to surpress the loud growl that comes from it.

Passing an electronic store or a pawn shop, a store with a mess of television sets in the window show a news broadcast about parts of Odaiba having problems with their water. The water comes out feeling greasy, has a foul odor to it, or grey sludge coming from the taps.

While Kylie showers, she can't help but feel like she isn't getting clean. A smell like the one from outside seeping in from somewhere and the water feels greasy.

R"I didn't tell him to attack. And he'll be fine, it's just like getting hit with a baseball."

D<Yeah, he's just bein' a baby about it.>

E"Nonsense. What would you like to eat?"

As I said, I won't stand for any more of this "I'll quit everything else if you quit this one thing." Since that has not stopped, I am leaving this RP, effective immediately. I highly encourage allowing clearer heads to prevail & keeping communication open between all parties involved, because it is a known policy that nothing is gone forever so long as it remains on this board. If that's asking too much, then it's a shame that it came to this, but I will do whatever I must to fix the problem. Goodbye.

EDIT: For benefit of Leafy, I had said that I would consider rejoining if the other RPs weren't killed in retaliation.

Eve:<You don't hit random starngers with baseballs.>

*Kylie hurriedly gets out and wipes down with a towel*

Taiyo: "It doesn't matter."

Turning a corner in their direction is a police cruiser.

===================================

Hitomi leads Azuma & Patamon out to the lobby.

Hitomi: "Thank you."

Azuma: "You're welcome....for what?"

Azuma: "Being you."

Azuma puts his arms around her and pulls her into a hug before departing.
