Taiyo: "Or us...."

Eduj scanned around them for more signs of their pursuers while waiting.

L"Worst case scenario, I guess we'll take the car."

<Hello, taxi service, please state your location & the location of your destination.>

*At this moment, Lilith digs out her phone & checks a message.*

L"Tell them to meet us on the way! We need to get out of here, right now!"

Azuma: "If there's a car left to take."

"You know, everybody could pile into this one car," Eduj suggested. "It would break the law and be unsafe. But our alternative is worse."
Astarte quietly dialled the number for the Ulm campus administration.

{Um, please hold.}

*Eve looks at Lilith*

<Where should I say to meet?>

*Cameron gets back in the driver's seat*

Cameron:<Are all the seats full?>

*Lilith grabs Eve & starts running.*

L"Along Emmer Street!"

<Did you say, "Emmer Street"?>

E"Good luck!"

T"Wait, how will they recognize us?"

Azuma: "Say there'll be however many people going down Emmer Street."

{Yes. There's 5 or 6 of us.}

*Eve runs along side Lilith, while Cameron closes teh car doors and drives after them*

Astarte waited for somebody to answer the phone while Eduj continued scanning the surroundings.

*In the rear view, right where they were standing moments ago, stands a figure with a porkpie hat. At the moment, it just watches them flee in terror. Having been forgotten, Euryale & Nero run up to the car, the former dragging Taiyo along as the latter opens the door, & they jump inside. They also spot the Crawling Monster crawl from 1 bush to another, following those on the sidewalk. After a burst of static & a loud ringing noise, Astarte's call disconnects.*

Azuma: "That's....let's go. Now."

*Cameron auto closes the door and continues following the group on foot. Eve continues to run beside Lilith and Thiera*

L"I know, that's why we're running!"

T"But we can't outrun it!"

L"That's why we called a taxi! Why can't you people keep up with the goddamn plan?!"

N"It's not gonna fucking stand there while you drive 5 miles an hour, fucking step on it!"

*Sure enough, the Shadow begins following. Nero points out the back window.*

N"Y'see!? It's saying, 'I can walk, too!'"

*Further ahead, a car with a yellow TAXI sign approaches.*

Eduj echoed the sentiment, "Fucking go!"

*Cameron does that*

Eve:<It better be close!>

As they're on the move, Azuma tries to flag the taxi over.

*The other group blows by as the taxi comes to a stop & Lilith yanks open the back door, pushing Thiera in.*

Driver<Can you believe that? The speed limit's 25. That isn't safe."

L"Don't worry about them!"

Driver<You're in a hurry too, I get it...huh--that guy's kinda--Jesus, that's not a guy! What the FUCK is that thing?!>

L"Don't worry about that either! Just wait 'til we're inside, turn around, & drive as fast as you can!"

*The driver turns around, revealing that he's an old man with a graying goatee & a beret, probably covering his baldness. He points through his windshield at the approaching Shadow.*

Driver<Did you know that thing was here?!>

*The Crawling Monster takes advantage of this moment to lurch out of the bushes, grabbing Lilith's legs & trying to pull her into the forest as she hangs onto the door for dear life.*

Driver<Holy shit!>

*After a buzz, Euryale checks her phone & puts it to her ear.*

E"Noctis?! Are you okay?"

S"(Guess again & probably not. In that order. And keep it down, would you? I don't know if I actually lost those things.)"

Azuma winds up and kicks the damn thing.

Astarte reached out and tugged on Euryale's sleeve, rare hope in her eyes.

*Eve grabs Lilith's wrist and pulls her away from the monster. As soon as Lilith is free, Eve drives in the taxi*

*Cameron keeps driving*

<Are they still right behind us?>

*Its grip slackens a bit, but it holds on well enough, until she gets in & slams its wrist in the car door a few times.*

L"Get in!"

*The creature turns to Azuma, & with the Shadow fast approaching, the driver shifts into reverse.*

L"HURRY!"

N"The monsters or the others? The answer is 'no' either way."

*Euryale shakes her head & puts the phone on speaker.*

E"Sorry, it's just Senthose."

S"('Sorry'? Oh, pardon me for not being the one murdered. Look, is Lilith with you? Did she get my message?)"

Cameron:<Ok, can someone call one of the others then?>

*Eve buckles her seat belt, looking frightened*

The two get the hell to the other side of the taxi and get in.

Astarte's face glazed over and she looked out of the window, looking almost bored.
