*Regulumon stands up & hefts his sword over his shoulder, cocking his head at Euryale, who is staring off into space & biting her lip.*

Reg<Heh, well, either way, if you wanna know more about the ghosts, you could always stick around. But I'd be shocked if ya didn't have somewhere better to be.>

Patamon: "So am I."

Salamon: "Are you still going on about that?"

*Kylie smilies awkwardly*

OOC: Updated the information on the Bio-Hybrids, since being close to 10 pages I want to move on, & this is probably the last they'll be seen.

*Euryale freezes up, looking around like the walls are closing in after her. She shrinks her body posture & takes a step back.*

Pluto<Unbearably pathetic.>

*Agumon growls at him as he sinks into the floor. Regulumon scratches his head & turns to the door.*

Reg<Go on. The rest of the pride would be glad to see ya.>

Kylie:<Don't mind Plutomon. He's like that with everyone...>

Azuma: "A friendly face is always nice."

Taiyo tightens her hold on Euryale's waist.

Taiyo: "Everything's okay."

*Euryale hangs her head & squeezes her eyes shut tight.*

E"No it isn't. I thought I was ready to face anything--I really tried to be--but in the end I just want to run away again."

*When Regulumon sees tears starting to fall, he mutters gruffly something like "I'll just give you kids some space" & shuffles off through the doorway. Agumon grabs her hand & Thiera awkwardly pats her on the shoulder.*

Th"Did anyone else really want to be here anyway?"

*Tsune & Gomamon shake their heads vehemently.*

Cameron:<You just need to take baby steps. You can't expect yourself to be ready for everything immediately. No one could do that.>

Hitomi shakes her head.

Azuma: "To be honest, no."

*Euryale remains silent as Tsune looks slyly at Azuma.*

Ts"Yeah, you have a hot date waiting, don't you?"

*Everyone looks from Azuma to Tsune*

Azuma: "I can't help it if talk of violating the NAP gets digital lifeforms motor running."

Patamon: "What does that mean?"

Salamon: "Sounds stupid. Why didn't we leave you on the boat?"

Th"Perhaps we should fly out of here?"

*He scrabbles up the nearest wall to the hole in the ceiling I mentioned earlier. Once outside, he tries to Digivolve to MetalGreymon without knocking too many ruins over, & holds his claw out for Taiyo & Euryale to climb aboard. Euryale rubs her eyes with the back of her arm & sniffles.*

E"I'm sorry."

*Biyomon digivolves to Saberdramon, who holds a claw out to Thiera. Kylie, Cameron, and Lunamon climb on the other*

Saberdramon:<Need a lift?>

*Meanwhile, Kotemon digivolves to Knightmon, then he and Lyra fly out of the hole*

Taiyo hugs Euryale because hugs fix everything, goddamn it. Patamon Digivolves to Angemon to carry his partner, Hitomi, and Salamon on out.

*Hugs do not fix anything, & she's still too ashamed to look at Taiyo as Tsune follows her up the cyborg dinosaur. Thiera climbs aboard, not at all happy to be dangling off of a bird talon hundreds of feet in the air, screwing her eyes shut in the hopes of warding off motion sickness. Ginkakumon & Kinkakumon catch sight of them flying back to the ship.*

Ginkakumon<Yeah, you'd better run!>

*Kinkakumon elbows him as she waves her cudgel in the air.*

Kinkakumon<Don't be rude, brother! You can't play hard to get forever, my love! I'll find yooooou!>

Ts"Heheh--you're going to invite me to the wedding, right?"

Azuma: "Marriage is a bourgeois institution, so no."

*Everyone turns to stare at Azuma*

Lyra:<...Well, that was...something. That's for sure.>

*Skipping past that awkwardness, when they get to the ship, it continues following the River Styx. Eventually, it takes a branching path, plunging them down a waterfall. There is presumably much screaming from the non-Mermaimon.*

Cap'n Mermaimon<Quit acting like a bunch of landlubbers, it's embarrassing! You're the ones who wanted to come to the Chessmon Kingdoms!>

*She gestures broadly, & once they emerge from the mist at the base of the waterfall, they see expansive, mostly flat terrain that of course has a red-&-black checkerboard pattern, though there are mountain ranges on the horizon. In the distance, they can see castle towers & regimented lines standing guard--all black on their right, all black on their left. The waterfall seems to just come out of the ashen clouds in the sanguine sky, terminating in a small pool that the ship is currently docked in.*

Cap'n Mermaimon<Normally they'd be firing mortars back & forth. IceLeomon must have a way with words to get them to agree to parley for this long.>

Kylie:<Thanks for the lift!>

*Presumbly they disembark*

They presumably disembark, Taiyo still hanging off Euryale although more for supportive reasons than her usual, overly affectionate no sense of personal space reasons.

*As they meander up the fields, a phalanx of White Pawnchessmon approach.*

White<You are the Digidestined, correct? We would be honored to take you to our King!>

*On the other end, a group of Black Pawnchessmon step forward.*

Black<Don't be absurd, the Digidestined obviously came to help our King!>

*They brandish weapons at each other before a roar knocks them all on their asses, IceLeomon jumping down from a distant tower with Persiamon clinging to his back. As he lands, she steps off, & they survey the surroundings.*

Ice<What is the meaning of this?! Whose idea was it to violate the armistice?!>

*Both sides promptly point at each other, causing IceLeomon to massage his eyes with his paws.*

Ice<Just leave.>

*The Pawnchessmon march back to whence they came, while Euryale & Thiera are still shaking from the roar. Persiamon approaches Kylie on all fours & sniffs her.*
