The War of Paradigm City

*Topaz winds up on the edge of a giant hole where a street used to be.*

L"It is no longer necessary. The target has been incapacitated."

*The Megadeus sink into the ground to be collected by Thiera's salvage vehicles.*

*The Basilisk frees itself & slithers down a tunnel.*

Zell lets out a long sigh, "That is great news."

*Kanrei Tsuki begins to make its way back to the hangar.*

L"Let us go back to the house. I am told that the mansion will be repaired by tomorrow."

*When she takes a step, she looks down. Bending over, she picks up a manuscript.*

*As K.T. enters, vehicles similar to Thiera's salvage vehicles, but with the Paradigm logo, drive along the tunnel she just came from.*

*She looks down and ponders jumping for a second, then shakes it off and starts walking around the hole.*

Zell follows along, "What do you have there?" She asked, noticing that Lilith picked something up.

*Hitomi finds a place to put the Megadeus and departs from it.*

*Lilith hands it to her. Topaz is walking towards them.*

*Topaz recognizes Lilith and continues to walk towards them, though not really planning on saying anything.*

Zell inspects it, not noticing Topaz.

*Hitomi stands by waiting for someone to say something.*

L"Well? What do you think it all means?"

"I can't really say. It seems overtly religious." She turned it over and saw the signature and the doodle, "It says it was written by Gordon Rosewater though."

*Since nothing's happening or going to happen she begins to take her leave.*

~Back Home, Wherever That May Be~

*Pruslas is on TV, talking about how a Megadeus War would spark a cataclysm that could end the world, & urging Vera & Barbatos to reconsider. Vera counters that Barbatos isn't going to back down, so they have to make the firstm move.*

T"So that's their real plan."

L"I do not understand. Why would Vera want to destroy the city she helped to establish?"

T"I'm not so sure Vera is in on this."

Zell is off painting.

*Hitomi resumes reading the hokey self-help book from her doorstep. The door locked.*

[Great, I might be involved in something that could end the world. At least that's what this loon says.]

*Vega changes the channel.*

*On the last page, it lists numbers of various churches.*

*He sees Barbatos standing at a podium.*

<As you can see, the assassination attempt was unsuccessful. And, I tell you, we will not simply wait for Vera to invade again! We will strike fast & destroy the corrupt Paradigm Corporation before she manages to amass yet another Megadeus squadron to attack our city!>

*She closes the book and sets it down.*

[That was terrible.]

Still painting.

*For one brief & shiny moment, he thinks he's found cartoons, only to realize that it's porn.*

*Lilith opens Zell's door & fills her in.*

"Thank you for the information Lilith." She replied with a smile, while painting.

"Damn."

*He flicks the tv off and just lies down on the couch. Falling asleep.*

L"Considering the news I just delivered, I hardly believe that to be the appropriate response."

Zell finally puts down her paint brush and looks up from the canvas. "I'm sorry, I wasn't actually listening. What is going on?"
