The War of Paradigm City

*When it does that, Rozengeist slams the jackhammer into its back. Basilisk closes its drill, & comes out with it being slightly bent. Above them, shockwaves ripple through the roof & cause it to cave in completely. Before it does so, Rozenkreuz quickly jumps out of the tunnel.*

*Kanrei Tsuki pursues Rozenkruez, climbing out of the tunnel. Gelu Chalybs ceases attacking and raises its arms as if to say it surrenders. Vega's voice comes over someone who's not Barbado's radio.*

{This is not worth the trouble.}

Mirror Zero backs away from any falling rocks and tries to get a handle on the situation. Knowing Basilisk could tunnel through the rubble, Zell said, "Thiera, you should go after Barbado."

Lilith{It's great to have you on the team, the android muttered sarcastically.}

*Basilisk drills itself out, in the process loosening some of the rock so that Mirror Zero & Kanrei Tsuki can get free. Up above, bombs are falling from the sky, destroying buildings & ripping apart the street. Rozenkreuz is standing sillohetted by the domes.*

<They are called "aeroplanes." Though they are not nearly as powerful as a Megadeus, they are nonetheless quite effective in war. Wouldn't you agree?>

Mirror Zero reaches the surface, and sees whats going on, and shoots a volley of lasers at the planes.

*Kanrei Tsuki proceeds to fire at Rozenkruez*

*The lasers just kind of arc every which way & disappear into the clouds. Rozenkreuz leaps at Kanrei Tsuki, clawing at its face.*

*Under ground, now that most of the rubble was shifted off of the Megadeuses, they could hear that strange roars were coming from deeper in the tunnels.*

"What the hell, is there some kind of force field on the aeroplanes?" Zell asked, confused.

*Kanrei Tsuki swings its rifle at Rozenkruez's face.*

"The hell was that?"

*It takes this opportunity to grab the barrel & snap it, ignoring the half of its face that it's missing.*

{You never considered that your weapons could have a maximum effective range, did you?}

*The planes continue bombing the city. In the distance, they can see a Megadeus being brought out of the domes.*

*The roaring gets louder as the tunnels begin trembling & cracking.*

{There is a large Megadeus approaching from underground. I estimate it to be the size of Paradigm's larges dome. And it is hostile.}

Zell furrowed her brow, and aimed her lasers at the bad Rozen, and fired away.

*Kanrei Tsuki drops what's left of the rifle and draws its knives. The machine gun ports open and fire as well.*

{That's...that's lovely.}

*Gelu Chalybs begins to somehow try to get out of the tunnel.*

*Just as everyone clears the tunnel, a number of city blocks give way as an enormous round Megadeus with several drills on its hand emerges, towering above them all. Rozenkreuz ejects some kind of pod out of the back of its head into the tunnels & then starts beeping.*

{This city is cursed. And I will strike a curse on all of you!}

OOC: Its drill shall piece the heavens!

Mirror Zero fires its lasers at Rozenkreuz.

*Kanrei Tsuki backs off from Rozenkruez which will most likely explode soon.*

*This causes it to beep faster. The very large Megadeus sees Kanrei moving & angrily stomps at it as a bigass missile comes flying towards its face. Up above, lazers are tearing apart the planes. There are now only about 10 left.*

*Kanrei Tsuki evades the attack and slashes the Megadues's leg not expecting to do much harm. Gelu Chalybs lowers its cannon out of some glimmer of hope that some bitch didn't disable it.*

Mirror Zero tries the same on the other leg using its beam sword.

*This puts a 20 foot deep gash in a leg that's at least 60 feet across. It kicks at her. Ignoring the exposed circuitry on its leg, it activates its giant drill & stabs the ground near Kanrei, sending boulders the size of small houses at her. Rozenkreuz explodes, but by this point no one is near it. The missile explodes a large portion of its head & it roars as Basilisk slithers up the leg Kanrei attacked & begins drilling into the hole. Rozengeist cocks another missile & the cannon doesn't even turn on.*

Mirror Zero slashes again, this time at an angle, hoping to put a clean, wedge shaped hole in the leg. Should a hold of any size happen to appear, Mirror Zero pumps it full of lasers, hoping to short it out, or severely fuck up its inside workings.

*Kanrei Tsuki goes about running around to avoid the boulders and move behind the Megadeus. Gelu Chalybs returns its cannon to its standby position and fires at the Megadeus with its assualt rifle.*

OOC: Moar mood music!

*Mirror Zero is kicked & goes tumbling across the city for several blocks. By the time it manages to stop itself, its cockpit is cracked, one arm is slow to respond, & a thruster is crushed. The Megadeus swipes at Kanrei Tsuki with one of its enormous drill arms, & at Gelu Chalybs with another. To stop Rozengeist from pelting it with missiles, it fires an enormous shell out of one of the cannons along its front, which rips the Megadeus's missile launcher clean off. On an unrelated note, everyone sees a flashbulb memory for a brief instant.*

*Schwarzwald is typewriting at his desk. There are flyers all over the floor depicting a large, hulking round monster & a huge serpent.*

<The sleeping giants who seem to have destroyed and rebuilt this world, and now live in it in chains, are in fact the source of its life and the progenators of all its people.>

*He picks up the Metropolis book and throws it into the fireplace.*

<The Power of God wielded by Man...Divine Thunderbolts raining down from the Heavens...the memories in this book are nothing but fakes. But perhaps the true memories would be unlocked if we were to witness the return of the Behemoth and Leviathan.>

*After what is apparently a few hours, they see Schwarzwald laughing as he's struck with one of Leviathan's energized claws.*

<Above the clouds of Paradigm City are not the ever-expecting and comforting hands of Gods, but only this old abandoned equipment. This is a comedy! That which I was searching for, the true memories, they were-->

*Everyone is snapped out of their reveries & reawakened to the attacks coming towards them by the loud noise of the smoking wreck of the last plane crashing down nearby & exploding.*

*Gelu Chalybs fires a needle at the drill arm coming its way while Kanrei Tsuki strafes from its path and slashes at the wrist region on the arm.*

Zell shakes her head to clear her mind, from the memory, as well as the mile long kick she just received. "What the hell was that..." She asked no one in particular as she reassessed the situation. All along her cockpit screen read warning signals, and critical failure alerts. "Thruster gone, cockpit breached, and heavy latency across the left arm." Zell said as Mirror Zero came to stand again. "This fight will only be a bit longer, Mirror Zero, I'm sure we can last." She said, not sure if she was trying to reassure herself, or the seemingly inanimate Megadeus. After testing the remaining thruster, and arm, Zell began to circle strafe, ready to use the thruster to dodge an attack should it come, and pumped a steady stream of lasers at the Megadeus.

*This blows one of the drills off, but it has a few drills on its arm, one of which plows into Gelu Chalyb's midsection, carving a big ol' hole into it.*

T{Despite its power, it doesn't seem very durable. Could it have been used for construction? But what would anyone build that they'd need a Megadeus this big?}

*Basilisk gets all the way up & starts drilling into its head. The lasers knock most of its cannons off. Rozengeist does a running jump & stabs into its side with its 2 arm weapons. The Megadeus lets out a roar as big cracks appear in its armor.*
