*Euryale uses this time to run up & slash it. Instead of biting her, a glyph appears above its head, & a series of fireballs appears around Thiera before smashing into her.*

*Monudon crosses several zig-zagging planks over nothing but a sheer drop into the clouds. When she reaches the clearing, she finds a large stone building. Next to the building is a circular pen filled with straw, enclosed by a wooden fence. Standing at the edge of the pen is a fat man with simple red pants, hat, & vest, wearing a white shirt underneath.

*When he arrives, 3 Crimson Knights log in near the Chaos Gate. The Chaos Gate then gains 2 rings around it, signifying that the 3 who were there before have Gated Out somewhere.*

*Monudon goes over and talks to the man*

Monudon:< So, what is this place?>

"Strange"

"So, Zalera," Hector continued. "Do you want to form a party here, or something?"

Mortal gates out and tries again to get to where Sab is.

Sab uses an Ol Repth on Thiera.

Zalera: I don't know. I might be able to clear out this area on my own.

*Luna stabs her spear into the ground & gives a little bow.*

Luna: I cannot. Please, form a party with me.

Zalera: Well, since you asked so nicely, & there are 3 of us....

*Having no idea what keywords Mortal entered, I am forced to assume they were the same ones, & is back on the same empty grassland field.*

*Euryale holds her blade perpendicular to her body & spins around, slashing the monster twice. This finally brings it down, causing it to howl, turn gray, & fall over. As it dissolves, a treasure chest is left behind.*

*No one else is hanging around the Chaos Gates. Running between the shops in the main city are a Heavy Axeman with bulky, green armor; a Wavemaster with a purple hooded robe, & a Twin Blade with red-&-black clothes decorated on the back with bat-shaped wings, & sporting a helmet with curled ram horns, his weapons are sharp iron caps on his fingertips.*

Not sure why it wasn't assumed before, but Mortal gets the exact keyword from Sab, then fucks off to where she is.

OOC: Same reason I have to go through the process of shopping in D&D, instead of selecting items from a list like in FFT. Because of the way the setting works, what people do at the Chaos Gate has to be very specific. It doesn't simply respond to a character's intent.

*Thiera's character is surrounded by a blue aura suggesting an upsurge of power. The spell makes a noise like a tingling chime.*

Thiera: That was embarrassing...sorry, I don't know why, but I freaked out when the control started shaking & my HP went down.

*Euryale waves to Mortal when she shows up.*

Euryale: 'Bout time. We're almost Level 7 now.

OOC: Hardly the same reason. It can be assumed that if Sab was giving directions to Mortal she would include the keywords for the gate. In DnD I don't let you just buy shit because prices will be different depending on who is buying, where they are buying and so on.

Sab patted Thiera on the shoulder, "Its okay."

Mortal waved back, then frowned, "Aw man, really. You guys are so good."

OOC: And I don't just let the Chaos Gate transport people to the a certain field because what field they go to depends on the keyword, the server, etc. Plus, I don't always know the player's intent--maybe you deliberately sent Mortal to a "wrong" area for some reason. It's just easier if you say, "Mortal gets the Keyword from Sab, & goes there," at the very beginning.

Euryale: The amount of EXP you get depends on the level of your enemy, in comparison to your own. In this field, you should level up really quickly. But, we have too many people, so we'll have to form 2 parties.

*She looks at Thiera.*

Euryale: Wow, this really is your first videogame, isn't it?

Creed scratches his chin and just logs out.

Sab drops out of the party and joins up with Mortal. Mortal nods, "Alright then, lets get going."

"Splendid," Hector said at the formation of the party. "I am afraid I may have had a bit of a problem myself."

Monudon:< Can you get grunties here?>

Zalera: La Repth.

*Zalera rotates his arms in opposite directions, his weapons circumscribing the air. When he jerks them apart, distinct blue auras emerge over Hector & Luna, restoring about half of their HP.*

Zalera: I see this is going to take some time.

*He begins casting La Repth again.*

<It just so happens that I delivered a baby Grunty the other day, but I don't have enough food for it, so I've been looking for an adventurer to help care for it.>

Thiera: I thought the objective of The World was to clear out Dungeons.

Euryale: Well...everyone plays differently, but certainly, the best rewards are usually in dungeons.

*Euryale heads over to the treasure chest & pushes it open.*

Euryale: See, most chests contain items or scrolls, which don't go for much. But the Gott Statues have big treasure items, that can go for as much as 5000 GP in higher-level areas.

Monudon:<Really? I'd be happy to help care for it.>

"Well, why don't we go to a dungeon then?" Mortal asked.

Euryale: Not sure...Sab, do you think the dungeon on this field would be too hard at our level?

*Even though she says, "our," she kind of jerks her head towards Mortal.*

<Are you sure? Caring for a Grunty can be a hefty responsibility.>

"It might be pretty rough on her," Sab said, "We should probably help her level up a bit, then go to the dungeon."

"Rude..."

"I'm just looking out for you," Sab replied.

Monudon:< Of course.>

Euryale: There's probably enough field portals. Even then, a dungeon can be hard, but I don't think we'll have to worry much this time around. There aren't that many tough monsters at this level.

<Okay, then. Wait right here. I'll be right back.>

*The shopkeeper NPC walks into the building. A small disc labelled "The World" displays in the corner for a second or 2 before he comes back out, followed by a tiny bovine creature that looks a bit like a nicer, smaller version of the Stray Grunty.*

*Monudon bends over to get a closer look at the creature*

Monudon:< Aren't you a cute little guy.>

Mortal was getting a bit bored, "Well, lets do something other than just stand here..."

Noct logs in and makes her way to a chaos gate.

*When she does, one of the Crimson Knights guarding it points his sword at Noctis.*

Joe: Hold it!

*The other one puts his hand on Joe's shoulder.*

Frank: Let her go. We've got the Wavemaster now. If there's any truth to those rumors, he'll talk, & we'll get her then.

*Noctis also gets an E-mail from someone called Roatha, with the title "Sorry."*

Euryale: Alright, lets move towards the dungeon, & see if we encounter any Magic Portals on the way.
