"If there's undead afoot best let this one tell us what we'll need" Levin jerks his thumb towards Jeanne as he didn't know her name.

~Outside the Sacred Stone Tavern~

Iliad let out a long sigh, "Did anyone notice the fact that it is nighttime, and that half the town is in the tavern, and the other half is sleeping?" Iliad walks over towards Rygar, looks at the map, then looks north. "We're already on the road we need. Come, we need to head north for only about a mile." With that Iliad began walking north.

Jeanne frowned, "Who made you the leader?"

"I did," Iliad said.

"And what makes you--"

"Qualified? Sail the God's lake, tell me how that works out for you," Iliad said. Jeanne grumbled a bit, but followed regardless.

"Aye-aye, Captain, but you might want to take this one with you when we enter the aqueduct."

*He points to Verano as he follows.*

"I have little concern for kobolds and dead bodies, but I'd hate to see you step in a trap."

~Edge of Forest~

Iliad spun on her heel and walked backwards, "Kobolds are not mindless creatures. You can reason with them, sort of."

"I thought the idea was to exterminate them all," Jeanne said.

Iliad shook her head, "I'd rather avoid that if at all possible. Get them to move, open the aqueduct, that is what we should be striving for. Failing that, yes, stab em' full of holes."

"So the usual routine only less shoot first, shoot some more, then try to ask a question or two when they're dead." Its hard to tell whether he was being sarcastic or not.

*Rygar puts the map away and follows the group, having to walk faster than everyone else just to keep up. Will everyone but the Gnome.*

*Marcus stayed quiet and followed the royal party, all too willing to let them step into danger first. It greatly improved his chances of survival. Though, he didn't agree with the plan.*

Marcus: "You negotiate. People don't hire me to talk, they hire me to kill. I was told to remove the threat, and that's what I'm going to do."

~Fares Forest~

"You were told to get rid of the Skeleton, if I remember correctly," Iliad said, "The Kobold infestation means nothing to you."

"How exactly do you know that?" Jeanne asked.

"I read the sign he posted on the board before we left," Iliad said, "Pay attention to your surroundings."

Marcus: "I wasn't talking about them. I'm going to kill that skeleton as quickly as possible, and a group of kobold better not slow me down."

*Rygar laughs to himself at the discussion. A dwarf party would have sought out the kobold to hunt them down for sport.*

*Namond runs to catch up with the rest of the party*

Namond:<You people walk fast.>

Levin just sighs.

"Kobolds are funny creatures, but they should move if we're really nice. OR really scary! I can do both." Cale throws up two thumbs up and grin, then throws his hands up in claws and makes a 'rawr' face. Then laughs a bit before calming down. "I'm surprised you're more interested in getting them to move than exterminating, I misjudged you. I apologize for that Miss Bell. Not many people are willing to give them, or many races, a chance."

Verano came with the group without words. He simply kept his eyes peeled for the inevitable traps Kobolds set up, or for a skeleton shining in the moonlight. He kept himself slightly ahead and detached from the group, falling into an easy habit of stealth.

As they let the village proper he kept pace with them, but was suddenly hard to notice even for them, knowing he was there, as he loped through the underbrush of the forest, avoiding sound and sticking to shadows.

E"I wouldn't have thought of reasoning with them, but if you think it'll work, I'd prefer it."

*Senthose has been on this mission for all of 5 minutes & is already considering sacrificing himself & telling the rest to go on without him.*

~Fares Forest~

"If we can talk them down, it means less chance I get my foot caught in some ridiculous trap, or swept into some needless conflict," Iliad said, "I'm all for anything that makes my life easier."

Jeanne shrugged, "I suppose you have a point. Does anyone have a torch by chance? It is quite dark in the woods without the moon to light our way."

Iliad shook her head, "I don't, luck of my lineage that I don't need one I suppose."

As the group is moving along Verano can hear noises in the forest. Despite however quick he figures out what is out there it doesn't matter as the answer makes itself apparent. Twelve wolves stride out of the overgrown brush and onto and around the small forest path.
