Old Ones Return

Lunamon:<It's not like we had a better one.>

Kylie:<So, will you fix Euryale's D-Power?>

Yamaki<No, we can't fix them.>

T"That's absurd, I got my D-Power from you. Don't lie."

*Yamaki clicks his lighter loudly.*

Yamaki<I said we can't fix them, not that we can't make them. But ours aren't as powerful as the ones from the Digital World. I don't know what effect that will have.>

E"Oh...still, I guess it's better than nothing."

Yamaki<Quite. I believe you've expressed interest in seeing Hypnos Headquarters?>

Kylie:<You're really willing to show us your headquarters?>

Salamon: "You're not going to put bags over our heads when you take us there, will you?"

Taiyo looks at her D-Power.

Taiyo: "Are there microphones in here as well?"

*He clicks the lighter.*

Yamaki<Of course there are. And that won't be necessary, just climb into a van. It's time you became familiar with a situation.>

*Clicks it again.*

Renamon emerges from her hiding spot, spooking Taiyo.

Taiyo: "Should get you a bell."

Salamon steps back, behind Hitomi, speaking to no one in particular.

Salamon: "After you."

*Kylie and Lunamon climb into a van as directed, because someone has to go first*

*Agumon climbs in after them, pushing himself up & into the van with his weird flipper-arms. Of course, Euryale follows.*

*Lunamon waves to those who have not yet entered*

Lunamon:<Come on in!>

Taiyo and Renamon climb in. Hitomi carries Salamon in.

*DemiDevimon lands on Thiera's shoulder before they enter as well. The vans all drive past the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. They are headed towards a parking deck near the building.*

Yamaki<Our offices are located here. Sensitive information & facilities, such as our computer system, is in a secret basement level. All Hypnos operations that make explicit mentions of information not available to the public is located on this level.>

E"And where are we going?"

Yamaki<As close to directly to this level as we can. We can't exactly have Digimon marching through the front door.>

T"Okay, but what about once we're inside of the building, specifically?"

Yamaki<We'll meet with Professor Kurata. Many of the things we've invented since the D-Reaper was destroyed were of his making. This includes the process of reverse-engineering a D-Power.>

*As he's talking, they drive down several ramps to the lowest level of the parking deck, & park almost right next to the elevator. There are a quartet of fluorescent lights in every corridor, but by the time they reach the bottom, half of the lights have been killed, cutting visibility in half.*

Salamon: "At least they didn't put bags on our heads."

*The elevator is typical parking deck affair. It has a window in the back, which is currently showing concrete, & simple white walls. Once everyone is in the elevator, Yamaki swipes an ID card down a slot in the elevator control panel. An electronic clicking noise sounds & he slides a panel below the buttons, which reveals more buttons. He pushes one & the elevator starts moving.*

*Kylie holds Lunamon, who fidgets impatiently*

Lunamon:<Hey, they still haven't mentioned whether or not they'll let us leave.>

Kylie:<Really, Lunamon?>

Lunamon:<It was a joke....>

Salamon: "Pretty hard to hold all of us without someone noticing they're missing."

*The elevator doors open on a series of metal hallways with warning signs on the doors.*

D<Who did you hire to do the decorating? The morgue?>

Yamaki<It can't be helped. The labs have to be designed with safety in mind.>

*He heads down a few doors & opens one that has a schematic for a D-Power on the front. The only warning sign is a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].*

Salamon: "That's not a good sign.'

Taiyo: "What's it mean."

Salamon: "The potential for the end of all things to come."

*Kylie and Lunamon head into the lab, since it seems like to be the place they're suppose to go*

E"I'm sure it's not that bad."

*In the lab is a chair & table, with a series of electronic parts strewn across it. Sitting in the chair is a man with brown hair & circle-rimmed glasses, a lab coat over a yellow-green turtleneck. He slides his chair out & stands up, walking around the table.*

Kurata<Ah, you must be the Tamers I was told would be coming today.>

Taiyo: "Yes."

He looks crazy.

*Lunamon raises an eyebrow, while Kylie waves*

Kylie:<Nice to meet you, sir.>

E"So...you're going to build me a new D-Power?"

Kurata<It would be my pleasure. It's been days since I was able to see one of my inventions in action.>

*He shakes Euryale's hand & looks up to see Renamon. Suddenly, he sneezes right in her face.*

Kurata<Terribly sorry, dreadful Digimon allergy. Ah, but you understand, right?>

*He digs a handkerchief out of his pocket & holds it out to her.*

*Lunamon rolls her eyes*

Lunamon:<How can you be allergic to data?>

*Kylie shushes her*

Renamon accepts the handerchief and wipes her face, her mood spoiled.

Salamon: "Yes, how is that?"

*Kurata plucks a short piece of fur & holds it up.*

Kurata<How can data have fur? Achoo!>

*He sneezes, making a big show of trying to turn away from Renamon...& sneezes in Agumon's face instead. Agumon shields with his claw.*

A"Aww, c'mon!"

Kurata<Hmm...I suppose I should have known that would happen.>

*He hands the piece of fur to Yamaki who stares into his hands like "what the Hell am I supposed to do with this?"*
