Cabin in the Woods

*Euryale yawns as well, because yawn contagion.*

E"I'm nnnn....ot surprised, we've been out pretty much all night."

*Roatha, Nero, & Thiera go right the fuck to sleep.*

Astarte was asleep.

"Nero is an irritable fool," Hector answered them as he prepared for sleep. "And I don't doubt that he would sacrifice everybody else here if it meant that he could get out of the forest."

*Eve and Tirea both fall asleep, Tirea still on the mattress as Eve is terrible at rock-paper-scissors*

Monu:<Maybe. Then again, I'd such sacrifice Cameron to get out of here.>

*Cameron pushes Monu over, then settles against a wall.>

Monu:<Only joking. But anyway, you could be right.>

Taiyo cuddles up more to Euryale and falls asleep, purring.

*As they were active all night, when they wake up, it's really dark. By now, all of the phones are too low on power to stay on for very long, so no one has any clue what time it is.*

Stefan got up and walked out into the living room, yawning. The others remained asleep.

*Eve yawns and shakes Tirea awake*

Tirea:<W-what?>

Eve:<Wakey-wakey time.>

*Tirea rolls over, grunting in response. Eve then heads to the bathroom for a quick rinse-off. Meanwhile, Cameron wakes up, and accidentally steps on Monu as he tries to exit the room*

Cameron:<Sorry.>

Monu:<I was getting up anyway.>

*The two exit the room, heading to the living room*

*With the only light being the limited light from the open bedroom doors, everyone in the hall notices the shadowy blur of something moving into the living room.*

"Huh..." Stefan continued towards the living room.

Taiyo: "Good...day?"

The other two remain sleeping.

*Stumbling around in the darkness of the living room, he hears faint footsteps.*

*Euryale does not answer. Listening closely, Taiyo realizes it's because she's still asleep.*

Taiyo cuddles back up to Euryale, shifts around a bit and decides screw it and loses the pants before going back to sleep.

"Is anyone else up?" Stefan asked in a half-whisper while looking for a light switch.

Monu and Cameron:<We are.>

*They head towards the sound of his voice. Eve finishes her rinse and gets dressed again, then heads back to wake up Tirea*

Eve:<Up. Now.>

Tirea:<FIIIINE.>

*Eve and Tirea head down the hall*

*The only thing is...the footsteps are not coming from the direction of their voices. They're coming from near the door.*

*In a semi-conscious state, Taiyo can sort of hear what's going on outside.*

Taiyo: I guess some of the others are awake.

Monu:<Who's there?>

*Monu stares into the darkness, while Cameron rushes back to his room for his flashlight, then runs back and shines the light in the direction of the footsteps. Eve and Tirea remain frozen in the living room*

Stefan took a deep breath and walked straight towards the sound, raising his voice to it's regular volume, "Hey, who's there?"

*Euryale jerks awake, sitting up in bed.*

"What's going on?"

*The foosteps stop just before he they get the flashlight. It sweeps over an empty room & a cracked open front door. Cushions & blankets lie at the base of the couch, indicating that Vanessa has scrambled out of it. It is not clear where she is now.*

Taiyo groans, not getting back to sleep.

Taiyo: "Some of the others are awake."

"Vanessa?" Stefan called out, heading for the cracked open door. "Vanessa? Hey!"
"What the Hell is going on?" A groggy Hector left his room and moved to the living room.

*There is no answer.*

R"(I don't know. Nero! Get up & check it out!)"

N"(Fuck off.)"

*Roatha pushes Nero out of bed. Grumbling, Nero heads over to his backpack, withdraws his flashlight, & heads out.*

"There's something else going on."

"Bring that flashlight up here, hurry up," Stefan said as he moved to the door and pushed it open, sounding upset. "Vanessa, damn you! Where are you?!"
Hector moved to join him at the open door.

Eduj woke, his brow furrowed, and climbed out of bed, "I wonder what the noise is about..."

Astarte groaned in her sleep, pulling herself closer to Thiera.

Taiyo moves closer to Euryale.

Taiyo: "That's never good."

*Nero emerges to this bullshit & heads over to the table, where he picks up Vanessa's glasses. Outside, a bush can be seen rustling at the tree line for a few seconds. There is nothing else at eye level..*
