Cabin in the Woods

Eve:<Then why didn't the shadow man didn't kill us on the day of the crash. Maybe it's playing with us..>

Cameron:<I don't suppose anyone wants to go check.>

Monu:<I'd say it's too dangerous right now.>

OOC: Fucking post in BDM! What is wrong with you?!

T"If that thing kills the generator, or the power goes out from the storm, there's nothing we can do about it either way. We should just turn off the lights, & use my lantern."

N"Maybe it's pissed off that we hit it with a bus?"

Eve:<You'd think it would have seen us coming.>

Monu:<I suppose. Should we leave one light on though?>

Noct shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe you think I'm kind of an asshole, and only showed up because the others did... Lord knows why they showed up. Uh, anyway, I just wanted to say thanks. It meant a lot to me."

"So, what did you want to do?" Mortal asked.

"I thought we could see a movie," Sab said.

"What is out in the theaters?"

"...Something..."

"You don't get out much, do you?"

*Aroma scratches her head.*

A"We...came because we're your friends. So...you're welcome. Hmm...how are you doing, by the way?"

*Thiera turns off all of the lights, activating her lantern & taking it over to place it to the table. Of course, the light immediately shrinks down a few feet. It's a powerful lantern, but it doesn't have the leverage. The light then shrinks to about half of the room, as Thiera adjusts the intensity of the lantern.*

"Good, I guess," Noct said, "I never really liked her anyway, but it is still weird that someone so important to my life, for better or worse, is gone forever. I guess I'll get over it in time. It helps that I have friends like you."

OOC: Resident German, what the fuck plays in your movie theaters?

Monu:<This isn't so bad.>

Cameron:<I agree. Now what? Do we come up with a new plan or..>

OOC: Well, it's 2011 in here... Hotel Lux. It is kind of tragic comedy taking place during the time leading to World War 2.

"I don't think there really is another plan," Hector said. "If this water blessing thing fails, then we really have nothing."
Stefan stepped out of his room, wiping his brow, and walked towards the kitchen.

A"I have to admit, the service didn't seem very...sad. Can I hug you?"

N"If it doesn't attack all night, our group can go out on another search for the crash site. Even if the path is gone, it has to be in the same direction."

Stefan emerged from the kitchen with a can of water, looking considerably more composed. Hector nodded in agreement with Nero.
"Anyway, I'm on watch next, so I think I should try and sleep," Hector said, standing up and heading back to his room, followed by Eduj.

Eve:<I agree.>

*Monu and Cameron follow Hector and Eduj to the room*

*In the middle of the night, Hector & co. might hear their door opening & someone stepping into their room.*

*Cameron, a light sleeper, wakes up at the noise*

Cameron:<Hello!? Monu!? Hector!?>

*Monu groans*

Monu:<Who..got up to use the bathroom?>

Noct shrugged, "Yea, I can't argue that. I was the only family there, and I hated her. Everyone else was just there for appearance's sa-- What?" Noct looked at Aroma, "I mean, sure, I guess... Why do you want to give me a hug?"

"What about that WW2 movie?" Mortal suggested.

"There isn't a... Oh, I thought that was about a hotel..." Sab said.

Mortal shrugged, "We can find out what it is about when we get there."

Sab smiled, "I suppose so."

Eduj stirred and looked to the doorway, but Hector remained asleep.

*Aroma, now feeling embarrassed, tries to act nonchalant & look at the ground at the same time.*

A"Well, I dunno...I just...thought it might...make you feel better, or something...."

T("It's me! Our time's up!)"

*Cameron looks embarrassed and stands up. Monu also gets up and yawns*

Monu:<We'll take it from here. Get lots of rest.>

Cameron:<Meet you guys in the living room.>

*Cameron and Monu exit the room and start for the living room*

Eduj turned to Hector and shook him roughly out of his sleep with one hand, "Wake up. It's watch time."
"Jesus, what the fuck?" Hector cursed in very hushed tones. "Wake me more gently next time, I didn't know..."
He trailed off as they got up and straightened out their clothes before heading to the living room.

Noct shook her head, and put a hand on Aroma's shoulder, "No, I mean, if you want to, I'd love a hug... I've just... never been hugged before. I mean... not without strings attached." Noct jerked her hand away from Aroma's shoulder when she noticed it was there, then ran it through her soaking wet hair, "Uh, sorry, didn't mean to get all touchy, feely."

And so Mortab begins heading to whatever movie theater is close by.

*Aroma quickly throws her arms around Noctis while she's talking.*

*Thiera heads off to bed. The lights are back on, Thiera's lantern plugged into an outlet. The lights are still only about half of their usual intensity. The newspapers have all been stacked beside the couch, & there is a piece of paper laying on the "table."*

*Monu goes over and tries to read the piece of paper, while Cameron flops on the couch*

Eduj walked to the door and checked that it was actually fully shut and locked. Hector also sat down on the couch.

Astarte rolled away from Thiera as she got into the bed, making a muffled, timid protest at being woken up.

Noct closes her eyes, and hugs back. The feeling of acceptance, and warmth made her heart beat fast, and she felt herself smile wide.

Mortal pays for two tickets to whatever movie Astarte said. To balance things out, Sab pays for the snacks.

*Astarte surely bitches more as the other 2 follow.*

~12: A bumping noise. I thought it was the door, but Roatha says he thought it came from the other way. Nero says it's the cabin settling.
~12:15: Noises in the roof. Bats? Mice?
~1:30: Crashing in the distant forest.
~2: A fox screams exactly once.
~2:45: Louder crash, probably closer.
~4: Thought something moved in front of the window, but can't be sure. No one else saw.
~4:15: More roof noises.
~4:20: Crashing noise off in the distant forest.
~5:10: Another bump, same conclusions.
~5:20: Lantern loses power. Should have a few hours left. Battery leak?

*That weekend, Aroma sleeps in, because no classes. It's now noon.*

Noct was up, and on her laptop, smiling at whatever she was doing. Mortal woke up to the sight of Noct sitting up in bed doing that and asked, "Why are you up so early?"

"Early?" Noct asked, "It is noon..."

"Yeah, it isn't 4pm. Why are you up?" Mortal asked again, with a small chuckle. A stretch and yawn came a second later.

"I don't know, I've just been in a good mood lately. I feel like I have more energy."

"Jesus, you're morbid. I know you had a bad relationship with your mom, but damn..."

"It isn't because of that!" Noct replied, "I've just... felt good lately. Can't I be happy?"

"Of course, I'm glad you are. Really."
