Year Two

"Well, you can't blame us for being cautious," Jin said. "I guess I'll trust you if Eve does, though. What's your name again?"

Dalia continued to wait to see what the police would do.

Grimm took the walk. He began to consider heading back to church, but was encouraged by meeting with two Mutants to keep on going for a while longer.

Taiyo: "I guess."

The police wait outside the building, guns at the ready until sirens wail in the distance, closing in.

Assuming she's still on the roof, Luna can see Thiera climbing the side of the neighboring building.

A car drives by, splashing him.

*OF course she's vaulting over to that roof. Thiera turns her costume back to normal when she gets to the top.*

T"Who are you?"

L"Talk later. Flee now."

*She continues scaling the rooftops. As does Thiera, regrowing the "wings" on her back so she can glide from roof to roof.*

*Ven pays her bill & leaves a tip.*

A"Listen, I've gotta go, we'll talk tomorrow."

Taiyo does the same and just waits for Ven to be done on the phone.

Outside the rain has not let up.

Down below, a couple more squad cars pull up as well as a SWAT van. It's not long until they reach the end of the block, brain splattering pavement waiting below, the sirens still relatively audible between thunder cracks.

*They say their goodbyes & hang up. Ven frowns at the rain.*

*Luna looks for somewhere to slip down in secret. She then hisses back at Thiera.*

L"(Why are you wearing such bright colors?!)"

T"Eh? Well, I want to be visible...sometimes, anyway."

Taiyo presumably gets her phone back. Checking the time it's passed ten.

Taiyo: "It's pretty late. I guess we should get home."

As usual, there is a fire escape.

*So they take that.*

V"Okay. See you tomorrow, Taiyo."

Taiyo: "Okay... Bye, Ven."

Taiyo calls someone on her cell.

Taiyo: "Hi, mom. Can you pick us up? Yes, I'm with Ven. Yeah..."

She states where they are, says her farewell and hangs up.

They're now in an alley. Thiera being some kind of plant monster scares the holy hell out of an old wino.

*Since Taiyo said, 'us,' Ven assumes that she's supposed to stick around.*

T"Don't mind me, citizen."

L"Citizen? Really?"

T"What?"

L"Nevermind."

*Luna runs along the alley with Thiera in tow, looking for either a more secretive path or another fire escape.*

As no one appears to want to speak, they stand in the doorway of the coffee shop as it closes behind them in silence. Several minutes pass before a black but really dark blue SUV pulls up in front.

Taiyo: "There she is."

Taiyo steps out to get inside the vehicle.

The winged tree monster speaking freaks him out even more and he stumbles away tripping over himself and spilling his hooch in the process, the bottle shattering on the pavement.

There only option is to go straight across the street and into another alley.

*Ven follows along.*

"Hello Mrs...Taiyo's Mom."

*Luna runs to the edge of the alley & peers around to see if she can see anyone who might spot them on the street. Thiera walks up behind her.*

Taiyo's bears a resemblance to her mother except for the twenty-odd year age difference and radical difference in style, Taiyo's mother wearing a light blue turtle neck and black pants.

Taiyo's Mom: "Shikasu. But Loren is fine. You must be Ven."

There's no one present who could see them. What they do see at the opposite end where they came from is more sirens. Their wail indicating ambulance.

Cameron:<I'm Cameron.>

*He stands up*

<Jin, right?>

*They take off for the next alley.*

"Yes. Thank you for the ride home."

Loren: "It's nice to meet you. And you're welcome."

She puts the vehicle into gear and begins driving.

Loren: "So where to?"

The alley is very much empty. There are fire escapes, but there's nowhere to go by the rooftops except the direction they had originally come from.

L"All right. We'll remove costumes here."

*She retracts her spear.*

*Ven gives directions to her apartment building.*

Loren begins driving to where Ven's directions take her. She tries to hide the frown that comes on her face when she pulls up outside a shitty apartment building.

Loren: "And there you are."

*Luna quickly works off her suit, saving the mask for last, & putting things into a backpack. She is still holding her retractable spear, just in case. Thiera merely dismisses hers.*

T"...Are you sure you want to let me know who you are?"

L"I know who you are. If I go down, I will take you with me."

"Thank you again. Good-bye, Taiyo. I had a great time."

*Ven climbs out of the vehicle.*

Taiyo: "Yeah, me too. See you later."

Loren: "Goodnight, Ven. It was nice meeting you."

Once Ven is inside the building, Loren pulls away.

Loren: "I can see why you like her so much."

Taiyo: "Yeah... I told her how I feel and well...she doesn't like girls."

Loren: "I'm sorry to hear that, honey. But you know what they say about first loves, right?"

Taiyo: "No?"

Loren: "They're not the last. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find someone one day."

Taiyo: "Thanks, Mom."

"Yeah," Jin nodded. She then looked at Eve. "So, um... where do we go from here...?"

Dalia left, not too happy with the swelling police activity.

Grimm kept walking.

Cameron:<Why did you kidnap me?>

Eve:<Well, we were kind of planning to become vigilantes too.>

Cameron:<Speaking of that, what can you do?>

Eve:<I can control time.>

News Anchor: "Last night, two members of the Tyranno Boys organization were attacked by a vigilante, saying their death was prevented when the vigilante Iron Duke intervened. Neither member says they wish to pursue legal action.

A fire broke out in the warehouse district. Emergency workers searching the wreckage say the casualties were not a result of the fire, but of some kind of bladed weapon. Weapons and munition remains discovered indicate the warehouse was controlled by one of the organized crime families, police suspecting the Yellow Dragon Triad. No word for how the fire was started, but the police are grateful that it means there'll be slightly less high powered weapons on the streets.

And lastly, a large methanphetamine manufacturing operation was discovered after police recieved reports of gunshots coming from what was thought to be a condemned apartment building. The building had housed multiple labs controlled by the Russian mafia. Those detained by police were reported having said a humanoid plant creature had begun incapacitating the people within the building using some kind of dart and pollen as well as jamming their weapons with vines. Perhaps the Mutant who intervened with the recent shooting between the Russians and Tyranno Boys is making vigilantism a full time job."

Fast forward to the end of the school day.

Mimiru and Taiyo are walking home, Azuma having left a few blocks before to go to work.

Hitomi goes to the library having some spare time before she has to work.

*Ven, Aroma, & Thiera are all walking to the park.*

*Eve waits for Jin by the enter to the school*

*Cameron waits for them both in his front yard*

Jin found Eve and jogged over to her, "Hey, Eve!"

Dalia was on a bus on the way home from college.

Grimm sat on one of the front pews in the church, considering the Mutants he had encountered. Teleportation was an annoying trick, and he needed a way to foil it.
