Cabin in the Woods II

Tirea:<Not now then, but we will!>

*Tirea grins broadly*

Azuma: "Oh, for sure. It's just I have spare batteries, so I can afford to get some more mileage out of my light than you can yours."

T"Well, looks like they've got Euryale back in bed, so I'm going to go too. Night."

*She turns off her lantern.*

*She begins reading off of the newspaper.*

1-1-2 Operator Lucinda Steel reported a message she received recently, from a young man claiming to be one of the missing youths, believed to have been killed in the forest fire. A transcript follows:

"We're lost in the woods! Come & get us!"

<Sir, where in the woods, how did you become lost?>

"...From the crash, of course!"

<You're alive?>

"What? Of course we're alive, who told you--" (call dropped).

Taiyo: "Thanks..."

Mimiru: "No problem."

Mimiru leaves and goes to her room where Azuma is heading.

"Thanks again, Taiyo."

Taiyo: "Of course."

In their room, Azuma climbs into bed, turning his flashlight off and setting it on the floor.

Azuma: "Time flows funny here."

Mimiru: "You're still on about that?"

Azuma: "Yes. It bugs me not knowing the time. I can't even risk turning my phone on as I don't know what it has for a charge to even find out."

Mimiru: "Forget about it."

"So they're all alive?" Sab said, "That is great news. They can send in a search party, and rescue them."

"Well, it says they aren't yet sure if it's a prank. But why would someone report they were dead if they weren't?"

*Euryale rests her head close to Taiyo's pillow.*

Taiyo cuddles up to Euryale.

*Eve, Tirea, and Monu all go to bed*

*Astarte hears someone whispering in her ear.*

*Taiyo hears a thud.*
==================================
*Eve hears scratching noises.*
==================================
*Hector hears footsteps.*

Eve:<Tirea.......stop.......>

Tirea:<...........Not me....>

*Eve sits up, trying to find where the sound is coming from*

Taiyo sits up.

Taiyo: "What was that?"

Astarte's eyes shot open and she sat up in the bed, looking around for the source of the whispers.

N"(...Cheese its...and tomatoes...dancing...rabbits of...indigo...China....)"

*Euryale groggily stirs.*

"What was what?"

*She stares into the darkness, & the darkness stares back. The scratching seems to come from the door, then below her, then the left corner of the bed, then up the wall & across the ceiling.*

Astarte sighed and lay back down to sleep.

Hector figured it was probably one of the others walking around, but kept on listening to hear where the footsteps were coming from.

Taiyo: "I heard a thud."

*The footsteps are coming from the hall, heading away from Hector's room. Taiyo & Euryale hear them coming towards their door.*

"And now you hear footsteps?"

Taiyo: "Yes..."

*Eve stands up and moves towards the door, following the noise*

Eve:<Tirea, wake up.>

*Tirea groggily sits up*

Hector sat up in bed and listened with slowly heightening interest. He reminded himself that absolutely nothing could be taken lightly in this situation.

"I can't go check it out."

*As she walks, the noise gets closer & louder, but she can't see anything.*

Taiyo: "Who said anything about that?"

"We shouldn't just ignore it, should we?"

*A door can be heard opening in the hallway.*

Taiyo: "It could just be someone going to the bathroom."
