Cabin in the Woods II

T"I can do it once we've made sure the cabin is safe. Popping a shoulder back into place is a lot harder than they make it look on TV."

*Nero looks back at Azuma.*

N"What? You can't seriously be telling me that its weakness is bullets. Where is this woman? Are you sure she wasn't some kind of illusion, or hallucination? We seem to have been getting a lot of those, lately."

"Why wouldn't I have heard you? You're only a few feet away from me."

"Maybe you misheard my wording and needed to have it cleared up," Sab said, "I mean, it isn't strange that a person might say something, but the other not hear her wording exactly right."

Azuma: "Also I have glass where it shouldn't be. Namely inside me. Anywho, we didn't see a woman per se, due to the perpetual darkness, but after our trip out to the road resulted in us being forced back into the woods, the shadow thing appeared, a shot rang out and someone or something with a female voice, said it was a special round. Drove it off at least. The other thing apparently won't be too bothered by it."

"More fucking monsters..." Hector sighed.

T"So that means the shadow probably does have a special weakness. It's probably not electricity. An electrified bullet would be difficult to make, and it wouldn't have near the charge of the lightning bolt, which barely slowed it down."

N"What did this other one look like?"

"Umm...okay."

*Aroma looks contemplative.*

Azuma: "A winged ape thing. Didn't really try to get a composite sketch while it was ripping a cop's throat out."

Astarte felt like doing nothing but sleeping, so she leaned her head on Eduj's shoulder while waiting for them to move inside.

Sab awkwardly goes back to her drink, sipping from the straw and looking at the table.

*Since the lock is broken anyway, Nero just kicks the door open. Thiera frantically reaches in & shines her lantern around. As the light careens back & forth around the room, they see...nothing. No people, no signs of a struggle. The furniture, both broken & non, & the paintings have all been removed from the living room. All that's left is something silvery glinting on the ground.*

"Sab, do you mind if I ask you a personal question?"

Sab looked up at Aroma, "Sure, what do you want to know?"

Mimiru picks up the glintering thing.

Azuma: "Wasn't there someone else with you all?"

"The religious guy," Hector replied. "He stayed with you guys."

"How did you find out? That you like girls, I mean."

*The object is, in fact, his cross.*

Azuma: "Don't recall."

Mimiru: "Well, this is what's left of him anyway."

"Oh, damn," Hector furrowed his brow. "We should search the cabin now. He or a monster might still be in here."

"Oh, that," Sab giggled a bit, "It was kind of always known to me. I grew up thinking girls were pretty, and boys were icky. When I hit puberty boys stayed icky, and girls became a lot more than pretty. I guess I'm a stereotypical lipstick lesbian, so it wasn't really hard for me to fit in anyway. It was just my thing. I knew about it, and didn't really feel bad about it, but I had trouble talking about it for a long time." Sab let out a sigh, "You know, sometimes what seems normal to you can seem really weird to everyone else, and I didn't want to have to deal with that if I didn't have to."

*Thiera looks around at all of the shadows dancing on the edge of the walls. One swinging past the door, another pair projected off in the direction of the hall, & several swinging in & out of focus against the walls.*

T"Easier said than done."

"I'm sorry. When I turned 13, 14, and 15, I still wasn't interested in boys. I knew something was strange, so I asked my mother about it. She started in on this speech about how sometimes the bird likes other birds because the stingers kind of hurt and they're attracted to each others' beautiful songs, but sometimes people think that 2 birds are annoying, because they can't appreciate nature. It didn't really make sense to me, so she told me to go ask my dad. Dad told me I was a lesbian. When I asked what that was, he told me to Google it."

Sab laughed, "Rather blunt. I learned a lot through google as well. I felt lonely sometimes though. I don't know about you, but, crushing on a girl who is clearly in love with the soccer captain really puts a spotlight on just how much I was not like the others." She stopped for a second, "Well, men's soccer, obviously."

Azuma: "I wouldn't bet on it. If he was, he may have come greet us. Or freak out."

*Tirea hugs Monu then turns back to the others*

Eve:<His survival chances are very low if he remained in the cabin.>

Tirea:<Maybe he got out.>

Monu:<We didn't see him.>

"If he is out in the woods his only hope is to find his way back by himself, or maybe run into that woman who apparently shot the Shadow Man," Hector moved a bit further inside. "But if we are going to reoccupy this place, we will have to investigate it."
Eduj and Astarte moved inside.

*Thiera begins moving around the room, moving her lantern over the walls, up to & including holding it high above her to inspect the roof.*

T"Hey, what if it's in here, but it just moves so fast that it stays out of our sight?"

"I don't know, I was pretty shy even before I learned...about myself, I guess. I never could work up the courage to ask if anyone understood, or was even like me."

*Eve follows in Thiera's general direction, while Cameron goes to get his flashlight with Monu and Tirea*

Eve:<It's possible, but I am unable to see the reasoning behind it, unless of course, it's playing around with us. Which is a possibility.>

"There was a hotline for it," Sab said, "Well, I guess there still is. My mom told me about it in high school, and it helped me feel a bit more normal. Well, as normal as it can be for someone who needs a hotline to talk to people who are like them."

"I would say that it is more than likely that it is playing with us," Hector said. "It obviously has the ability to take us out easily. On the other hand, it might be wary. If there is a human with a weapon to use against it out there, it would make sense to be cautious."
