Cabin in the Woods II

*Azuma & Mimiru decide they're very hungry.*

E"(I have to go to the bathroom)"

N"So, do we really have nothing besides the cans? That's not very efficient."

*By the time she gets back, Aroma is still asleep.*

Taiyo: "All right."

Taiyo gets out of bed to help Euryale up.

Azuma: "Holy someone's a right jag off. And not just the one's talking in the hall."

Stefan began more carefully making his way towards the kitchen. Astarte continued to hang around the entrance to her room.

Sab sits at her bed, opens her laptop, and goes online and checks the news.

*Because someone's being a jackass & not getting out of bed, Thiera comes back out with her lantern as Taiyo is escorting Euryale to the bathroom. When Thiera turns it on, the whole cabin glows brightly for a few seconds as a loud, metallic screeching can be heard, & the Shadow Man can be seen standing in the middle of the living room. The mysterious extra lights & the high pitched screech all disappear, leaving only a small, flickering sphere in the living room, & the accompanying whine of crackling electrical circuits. The Shadow Man is still standing there.*

*The new piece of home page news is that a local police officer, his wife, & their 14-year-old daughter have all been shot & killed in their own home.*

Sab is appalled, but doesn't see the need to actually click the link when the headline pretty much told her exactly what happened. She goes to youtube and types in, 'funny cats'.

Stefan cried out and reached for the cross hanging from his neck. However, since Cameron should still have it he didn't find it, which seemed to distress him almost as much as the appearance of the Shadow Man. In the hallway, Astarte froze.

Hector and Eduj jumped out of bed, suddenly wide awake.

The two come out of their room almost tripping over one another.

Azuma: "How the hell did that get in?!"

*Aroma wakes up at this point, & frowns.*

A"What's wrong? You're...you're not having second thoughts about tonight, are you?!"

N"I don't know...was it in here the whole time?!"

*Vanessa drops to the ground, scrabbles back to the corner, & cowers in the fetal position.*

E"...Taiyo, please let go of me. I'll only weigh you down."

"Of course not," Sab said. A long meow emphasizes her point, "I was just waiting for you to wake up so we could go."

Stefan backed up against a wall, muttering inaudibly to himself while staring at the Shadow Man. Astarte grabbed Nero's shoulder and began half yelling, "We have to go, we have to go! Let's go!"
Hector and Eduj spilled out of their room and saw the Shadow Man. The two of them exchanged horrified glances.

Taiyo shakes her head.

Taiyo: "No."

Azuma looks towards Vanessa then back to the Shadow Man.

Azuma: She's certainly not going to be any help.

Mimiru: "Now what? It's just standing there."

Eve:<Calm down, please.>

*Eve stares at the shadow man. Monu, Cameron, and Tirea do as well*

E"Taiyo, if I can't get away, there's no point in anyone else getting killed."

N"Probably a good idea. Roatha, go get Euryale."

R"On it!"

*Of course, shortly after he runs past the Shadow Man, it appears between him & Euryale. It lazily reaches behind itself with one finger, like a claw, & cuts a gash in Euryale's cheek. She suppresses a yelp.*

R"Oh, fuck you."

*In return for his defiant attitude, he's thrown back into the crates that make the table, which actually break from the impact. Thiera rushes towards him as Nero opens the door & Vanessa scrambles to her feet & runs out of it.*

"I thought we were going to go in the evening. It seems kind of weird to go to an Italian restaurant for breakfast."

Taiyo: "I'm not leaving you."

Mimiru: Lotta help she was.

Mimiru comes to help Euryale and Taiyo.

*Tirea also goes to help Euryale, while Cameron and Monu count everyone. Eve slips towards Roatha and Thirea, never taking her eyes off of shadow man*

"Well, yea... but we're still going to eat breakfast," Sab said, "Like, at the cafeteria."

Astarte also ran out of the open doorway, but didn't venture far from it. She looked back into the cabin, waiting for the others. Stefan remained pressed against the wall, muttering and reciting to himself.
Meanwhile, Hector and Eduj made a dash across the room towards the door.

*The Shadow Man lazily swipes his arm as they pass by. Both Hector & Eduj fall to the ground with large bloody scratches along their upper backs & arms. It looks at the party carrying Euryale as they pass. Trying to stall it, Roatha throws what's left of the "table" at it. When it stops in midair & explodes into sharp wooden fragments, he & Thiera dive behind the couch for cover. The pieces that do strike the couch sink in several inches. Of course, most of the lantern's light is now blocked, so now no one has any idea where the thing is.*

N"Come on, hurry, we have to lead it back into the woods!"

A"Oh, yeah. I'll get ready as soon as possible."

*So she withdraws a change of clothes from her drawers & heads to the bathroom.*

Azuma flicks his flashlight on and scans the room for it.

Sab goes back to watching funny cat vids.

Eduj jumped up before Hector and helped him up, and they continued their dash despite their wounds. Stefan began edging towards the door.

*When the group carrying Euryale get closer to them, Thiera & Roatha grab on to help out. As soon as Hector & Eduj get outside, they start coughing & feel compelled to vomit. Azuma doesn't find it on the first sweep. On the second, it appears right in front of him. It's starting to look like he's ended up sacrificing himself so that the others may escort Euryale to safety.*

*Aroma emerges, in a green flapper dress with her usual white opera gloves, because why not?*

"Ready to go?"

Azuma: "Well, if you think you're hard enough."

Azuma withdraws his knife, flips it open and swings at the Shadow Man.

Mimiru: "Think you all can manage?"

Without waiting for a response, Mimiru goes back to retrieve Azuma's dumb ass.

Eduj leaned against a tree and vomited into a bush. Hector dropped to his knees, one hand pressed against his mouth, and tried to resist the urge to vomit. Stefan finally stumbled out of the cabin, looking feverish.
