Hector followed him towards the basement, though he didn't intend to go down into it.

*Azuma's light shows the mattresses in front of the door.*

*The basement door stares back at them, its handle glinting innocently. Meanwhile, Thiera & co. exit Taiyurle's room & open one next door, walking in & looking around.*

Azuma scans the rest of the room then goes to the kitchen.

Mimiru sits in the girl's room.

That idiot.

Sab's eyes begin to water, and she starts to wipe away a few stray tears.

*Eve and Monu follow Thiera & co*

*Cameron goes over and opens the basement door, then shines his flashlight down into the basement*

"C-come on...let's go...."

*Aroma also starts to tear up, but puts an arm around Sab in an effort to lead them back home. This apparently emboldens the guy, whom they can hear taking a few steps in their direction.*

<That's right, go away, no one wants to see that shit!>

*The living room seems to be clear. Heading into the kitchen, he doesn't see anything either.*

*The light illuminates the twisting staircase, the dust floating about it, & barely anything else. It looks almost like a cave, or an open grave.*

*As Thiera moves her lantern around, a wooden bed frame with exposed springs, several of them broken, & a dresser comes into view. Thiera heads over to the dresser & starts opening drawers, gingerly, as though she expects a skeleton to pop out.*

*They start heading down the staircase, Cameron searching with his flashlight*

*Eve comes over to help*

Azuma opens up drawers, not even looking in them then closing them.

*Pretty soon, they've checked all of the drawers, & found out that they only contain whatever the occupant has put in them. Meanwhile, Roatha & Nero look under the bed.*

T"This room seems clean. Let's check the next one."

*The first thing they notice is that the basement is freezing cold. The flashlight indicates that this is probably because the icebox has been left wide open. The fuse box seems untouched.*

Azuma goes back to the hallway.

Azuma: "All clear, as expected "

*Cameron shines his flashlight inside the icebox, while Tirea approaches it*

*Eve nods*

<Alright.>

*Eve and Monu start making their way towards the next room*

*The steaks have not yet gone bad, but there is little difference between the room temperature & that of the icebox.*

T"Alright. Stick in the living room to make sure nothing tries to come in. Also, let Roatha borrow the flashlight, so we can search these rooms faster."

Tirea:<We could still eat these.>

Cameron:<Maybe.>

*Cameron starts searching the rest of the basement*

*Eve and Monu wait outside the next room*

"I'm telling you, I didn't hear Aroma at all," Mortal said.

Noct shook her head, "No, I totally heard her, and I think some guy. I just want to check it out."

"It is only around the bend, not like it is out of our way or anythi-- Hey look, it is Aroma," Gabe said. Then they heard what that guy said.

"Hey, can I help you?" Mortal asked. Noct didn't even bother with words as she saw Aroma's arm around Sab, and Sab's shoulders bobbing softly as she tried to bite back tears. Noct took a swing at the man's face.

Sab looked over her shoulder when she heard Mortal's voice just in time to see Noct go batshit.

Azuma: "Give to Mimiru when you're done, so she's not totally blind in there."

He hands the flashlight over to Roatha.

R"Okay."

*He takes the flashlight, then he & Nero head to the room at the opposite end of the hall. Thiera heads into the other room, & once again, it doesn't look as though there's anything in there.*

*Not likely, if they continue to leave it open. Panning over the shelves will reveal that they've all been knocked over, the few things that were stocked on them now gone. The darkness retreats behind the boiler.*

*The man, an unidentiable someone in a hoody staggers back, clutching his jaw. Though he is slightly taller than Noctis, he takes a look at the assembled crowd & runs away, yelling over his shoulder.*

<What the fuck is wrong with you, you crazy bitch?!>

*Eve follows Thiera, while Monu follows Roatha*

Eve:<Anything?>

*Tirea shuts the door, while Cameron goes to check out the boiler*

Azuma heads back to the living room, holding the wall for guidance.

Hector had only gone down a few of the stairs and was waiting for the others to come back up. He fidgeted nervously.

*As they're peering down the boiler, Hector suddenly falls down the stairs. He hits the shabby railing, which breaks, & then he falls the rest of the way to the floor, splinters & chunks falling with him. He feels termites crawling on him.*

*Thiera starts checking the drawers.*

T"Not yet."

*Then they hear a loud tumbling, thudding noise.*

*The same thing happens with Roatha. Frankly, everyone in the cabin hears the noise.*

"Aw, damn it," Hector rubbed his head. "That is not a secure staircase."

Mimiru looks outside the room. Azuma looks over his shoulder.

Mimiru: "What was that?"

Azuma: "I bet someone fell down the stairs. Hard."

*Tirea and Cameron run over*

Tirea:<You alright?!>

*Eve opens some drawers before during in the direction of the noise*

Eve:<I don't think that came from outside.>

Noct takes a look back at the shocked Sab and goes after the man for a few strides before Gabe can chase after her and snatch her up, "Whoa, Noct, calm down..."

Noct looked back at Sab and roughly shrugged Gabe off of her, and adjusted her coat, "I am calm."

Gabe kind of shrugged to Mortal, who had taken a step towards Sabroma, "Are you two alright?"

Sab nodded, "Yeah. Where did you guys even come from?"

"Noct heard you guys," Gabe replied, "We were just in the area for some shopping."

T"If something's wrong, someone should raise the alarm. This room's clean, let's go check the bathroom."
