The Arrival

"Iced tea, please."

Hector's calm exterior twitched for a moment as he fought off the urge to respond negatively. He spoke in a measured, neutral tone, "Do you want Euryale's phone number?"

*Grimm misses & hits the side of his house. Fortunately, his head clears. Unfortunately, the man lets loose a duo of quick jabs at his face.*

*When they arrive at the class, the hall is mostly full, though there are 2 empty seats towards the middle of the backmost row.*

*He, once again, does not find anything out of the ordinary here.*

*Tirea is unsuccessful. The monster looks back at the Shadow, which does not move forward, but seems to nod. It then turns back to Tirea, its eyes widening & its face contorting in an alien expression as it jabs that tongue thing into her neck. She instantly feels her fingers & toes become colder & harder to move.*

*The room is clean with no real decorations to speak of. A closed laptop sits on a desk near an unmade bed. The closet is open, with only a few turtlenecks inside.*

V"What kind of Creeper Question is that?"

<Alright, we'll be back with those drinks in just a moment.>

*They head off.*

"It's not," Hector replied. "Euryale said that I should try and give you her number. I guess she wants to talk to you about one thing or another. So would you like it?"

Grimm brought his bayonet up to intercept the jabs and lashed out with a kick of his own, aimed at the man's genitals.

And so they sit there.

"So, what's up? Anything interesting happen today?" Mortal asked.

"Not really, well... no, never mind," Gabe said.

"What, more creepy voodoo stuff?" Mortal asked.

"Kinda. I don't feel like talking about it," Gabe said.

*Eve enters and places her suitcase by the wall*

*Tirea struggles defiantly*

*When he reaches Tirea' s floor, Monu races towards her classroom*

*Literally just said that nothing is out of the ordinary on this floor. Jesus.*

*Surprisingly, the Shadow grabs the creature by the shoulder & throws it off. It rolls back onto its feet & growls at the Shadow, but when it looks over, the beast stops making noises & slinks back into the darkness. The stairwell door opens unbidden, but strangely, Tirea's living room is on the other end. The Shadow walks through it, & the door slams behind itself. For Tirea's part, she is freezing, yet too weak to move even enough to shiver. She can make noises, but they're barely audible or intelligible as speech.*

*Roatha places the backpack nearby.*

R"So, need anything else?"

T"Roatha! Someone might have broken into this room. I don't think it's safe to just leave her alone in here."

R"So...what, we just wait here until Euryale gets back?"

*Several moments later, Euryale is staring blankly at the presentation, a look of mild disgust on her face.*

E"I didn't think that bio could be so hard. Maybe I shouldn't be a science major...."

*The man staggers back, clutching his junk, looking at Grimm with a mixture of fear & rage.*

<The earthquake! You were there! All of the communists were pissing on us, & you just sang!>

*She glares at him for a while, then digs her phone out.*

V"Whatever."

*Senthose stares at Gabe for a bit, then masks it by pointing past her.*

"Oh, look, the drinks are here!"

*Sure enough, the 2 servers begin setting drinks out in front of them.*

*Monu peeks though Tirea's classroom's door*

*Tirea lays there, staring at the ceiling*

Gabe was about to wonder why she was being stared at, then noticed the drinks. She let out a quick sigh, chastising her paranoia, and took a sip of her drink.

Astarte sipped at her own drink, glancing at Gabe a couple of times.

Hector waited until it looked like she was ready to put in a new number, and read it out.

Grimm didn't stand back to listen to the nonsense being spewed, and lunged forward again with the aim to stab into his right shoulder.

Chick<So, are you ready to order?>

Dude<Or do you need more time?>

*He bites Grimm in the throat & punches him in the ribs with his other hand.*

R"Like where?"

*Class is being held as normal. She is not in there.*

*Tirea tries to stand and follow the shadow*

*Monu moves away from the door then calls Tirea again*

*Eve shrugs*

"Is it normal to have two waiters?" Mortal asked.

"Ignore her," Noct said, "I'm ready to order, what about everyone else?"

"Fine, but they're splitting the tip," Mortal said.

Taiyo: "I'm sure you could be. The other stuff I have to take...Sometimes I don't think I'm cut out for it."

*Tirea just kind of rolls over.*

*Monu gets a blank dial tone.*

Chick<I'm just helping out since it's such a large order, don't worry about it too much.>

S"Then I won't."

*Senthose & Lilith look at each other.*

L"I think we're ready."

A"I only have a few sections to go through, so I'll go last, but I'll have something by then."

E"Well, I'm glad you believe in me. If I can do it, I'm sure you can too."

Taiyo sighs in relief.

Taiyo: "Thanks."

Astarte waited for someone else to make their order first.

"Yes," Hector said, then turned and went back to the bar. He sent Euryale a message, I gave her your number.

Grimm gritted his teeth and grabbed the man by the hair, also pulling the knife out of his shoulder, and then stabbing at his cheek with the intention of slicing in just far enough to hit his teeth and knock them out, as well as cut his gums.

*Eve just stands there awkwardly*

*Tirea keeps trying*

Hector answered with some mixed feelings, "Hello, Monu?"

"I'll take the ribeye steak," Mortal said, "Rare."

"I'll go with a caesar salad," Sab said.

Gabe was indecisive, but settled on chicken alfredo.

Noct, remembering that this was for lunch, and not dinner, just asked for a cheese burger.

L"A cheeseburger does sound pretty good."

S"I'll have mine sans cheese."

A"I'll just have what Sab is having, please."

*She nods to indicate who Sab is.*

*Tirea is barely able to drag herself a few inches, & it feels like being stabbed in the hand with a hot knife whenever she pulls herself along.*

*Tirea keeps heading towards the door, however she moves rather slowly*

Taiyo: "It's nice to know someone believes in me."

"I'll have a chicken salad wrap."

"Oh... what makes you think that?"

Grimm tossed him onto the ground and called an ambulance with his cell phone.

*They head off to get all of that shit.*
