The Arrival

Taiyo smiles and nods, shifting a little closer to Euryale to hold her hand.

"So, Astarte," Mortal said, "Long time, no see. How's life been treating you?"

"Alright," Astarte replied. "It has been a nice week for getting back into studying. And yourself?"

"I have a man with stab wounds to the neck and shoulder at [address]," Grimm said, kneeling down and trying to position him so that he might not choke on his own blood. "I stabbed him."

<Uh, alright. We're sending an ambulance.>

*Eventually, the class lets out.*

*Senthose turns to Lilith.*

S"Speaking of, how's your week been?"

L"Ugh, tiring. I keep checking up on that incident, only for the police to say that they don't have anything yet. But Thiera insists I keep at it, so I guess I'll be calling back after lunch."

Taiyo: "So what do you want to do?"

*Eve looks down and shrugs again*

{She called me and all I could really understand was 'help'. She's also not in her class...>

"The incident at the gym?" Gabe asked.

"Wait, what exactly do you study?" Mortal asked.

L"Yeah, & this whole general stalker thing."

*He heads out, & Thiera follows.*

*Eve follows, closing the door behind her*

*Tirea eventually gives up and starts laying there*

"Law, with a little film and photo media stuff on the side," Astarte said.

"Does she live in a dorm?" Hector asked.

"Thank you," Grimm went and put his bag just inside the doorway, then waited with the body for the ambulance.

"Oh, that is cool," Mortal said, "Noct is in law too, you can work together to bring justice to the world or something."

"I didn't know you were interested in law actually," Noct said, probably more enthused than one should be at the thought of law, "That is cool. What exactly do you want to do?"

"Oh, yeah," Gabe shivered a bit, "The whole thing really creeps me out. I think I might have an overactive imagination, so I've been freaking myself out recently. I hope this all blows over soon."

E"I don't know, wanna go back to the lounge & talk?"

*An ambulance & a pair of police cars eventually pull up.*

*And so they take the elevator down. Soon after stepping out, they spy a vending machine.*

L"Yeah, me too. I still get the feeling that Thiera is hiding things from me."

S"Sorry, I wish I could help somehow."

L"Don't worry about it. It's not your fault, & I'm sure everything will be fine."

Taiyo: "Sure."

"I guess I'm aiming to be a legal secretary," Astarte said. She couldn't help giving a worried glance to Lilith. "Not all that lofty of an ambition."

Grimm waits for them to come on over.

"What? No, no," Noct shook her head, "A legal secretary is super important. They might not get as much recognition as a lawyer, but cases are won and lost on the skill of a legal secretary as much as the lawyer. Actually, there are some legal secretaries down at my mother's... well... uh... anyway, I know some really talented paralegals, and trust me, it is as lofty a goal as any career in law."

"Yeah, me too," Gabe said with a nod, "Everything is going to be fine."

*And then the servers come with the food & start setting it out in front of everyone.*

*Some paramedics come out with a stretcher, while Jane gets out of the other car, gun trained on Grimm.*

Jane<And what the Hell is all of this?>

*And so they're back at the main building. They've got more-or-less free reign, as there are only maybe a dozen seats occupied, & no one coming into the building.*

Taiyo: "Was there anything you wanted to talk about?"

Astarte showed a moment of cheer at this, but retreated to looking humbled, "Well, I guess I just meant not that showy."

"Self defence," Grimm stood up. "You can take me in if you like."

*Eve heads over and gets an orange soda*

*She looks around, lingering at the body, Grimm's arms, & head. Meanwhile, one of the medics checks his pulse.*

Jane<No, it will never stick.>

Medic<He's dead. Can you identify this man?>

Jane<I can. He was ordered to attend psychiatric treatment, but apparently escaped.>

E"I dunno. Stuff?"

*Euryale shrugs.*

A"It looks delicious, thank you!"

Chick<Why, you're very welcome.>

Taiyo: "What kind of stuff?"

She seems a little nervous.

Mortal and Sab both smiled and began to dig in.

Gabe took a second to address Astarte before taking a bite of her food as well, "Isn't there some saying by Shakespeare about that? 'All that glitters is not gold'."

"'Glisters', and Gabe is right," Noct said, leaving out the part that that isn't what that saying really means, "Just because something isn't flashy doesn't mean it isn't important."

"I guess, yeah," Astarte said.

"Well, have you called her home? Maybe you should head over there?"

Grimm stood silent.

"I dunno...stuff? Stuff to...talk about...?"

*As the paramedics load the guy into the back of the ambulance, she heads back to her car.*

Taiyo: "Like your new living arrangments?"
