Episode Eight: Home

*Eve sends a message back, then shrugs*

Sounds like what attacked us.

<Go say hello.>

*So Eve heads off down the stairs as the front door opens, revealing a tall man with light hair and a darker haired women. Both stop dead when they see Eve*

Dr. Tantuses:<Eve!>

*They run up to embrace their daughter*

*Cameron runs out to grab the letter, gagging. He and Yokomon hurry into the house and shut the door as fast as possible. Once inside, they along with Kylie and Lunamon open the letter*

D<...Shouldn't we be helping?>

R"Maybe. I think we could spare a few minutes, though."

And so Taiyo hands it to her.

Inside is a card that's torn and smudged to the point of illegibility. Inside are two tickets as expected as well as some photographs. Of Kylie. In LadyDevimon's castle. During her torture session.

As well as that the inside of the card features the words DEVIL WENT THROUGH HERE in a dark red that looks like it was scrawled in by someone who was very angry and in a rush.

Jokermon stumbles when Oryxmon spits some corrosive white goop at it,catching its legs. Another Heaven's Knuckle and it falls, somersaulting in the process.

Jokermon begins crawling away before Oryxmon comes and steps on it, a pained expression painted on its face.

*Cameron tries to hide the photographs from Kylie, who picks up the tickets, reading what's on them*

Mr Sorenson:<They can't just leave you two alone, can they?>

*Cameron tosses the pictures to Yokomon who destroys them*

*Eve's dad turns to Roatha*

<And you are...?>

*He stops when Terriermon tugs on his pants leg*

Terriermon:<Hi!>

Dr Tantus:<Uh, hi?>

R"Unphased by my sudden teleportation down the starcase. Roatha Arelaz. It's, uh, nice to meet you...Sir...?"

*And so Euryale opens it.*

Inside is a card like the one Azuma & Hitomi recieved. Inside is three tickets and a crude crayon drawing of their three Crests with a heart around it.

Taiyo: "Concert tickets?"

The Jokermon fades to black as Oryxmon spits a Milky Erode on it.

Azuma: "They don't revert to data in this world when they die."

A"And what does this drawing mean?"

*Aroma takes her hand off of her stomach for a moment to point, but quickly retracts it & clings to herself even tighter.*

*Eve's Mom looks to Terriermon*

Dr Tantus:<And you are?>

Terriermon:<A digimon. I'm Terriermon!>

*Eve's Mom bends down to shake Terriermon's little hand*

<Fascinating...>

*Eve's father looks Roatha up and down*

<Indeed. I'm Dr Tantus. A pleasure.>

*He holds out his hand to Roatha*

*Roatha shakes hands, like a fucking dog.*

Taiyo shrugs.

Taiyo: "I don't know. Whoever sent it is probably some kind of weirdo. We should probably tell the others."

Taiyo goes to get her D-Terminal from her backpack, seeing the message Eve had sent. She responds back saying they got tickets too.

Dr Tantus:<Eve, I'm going to assume this has something to do with where you have been.>

Eve:<Yeah, basically, we and about 7 other people have to save an alternate dimension full of digimon. We all have a partner.>

*She points at Terriermon*

<This one's mine. Roatha's is...>

*SHe looks around for Dorumon*

*He is at the window, menacing a bird.*

Taiyo leaves to switch the laundry around, coming back a short while later.

Taiyo: "It'll be another hour. I don't think Lalamon likes it here."

A"She's just shy."

E"Guilmon might be trying to rough house with her."

*Aroma looks immediately horrified.*

E"I should probably go tell him not to do that."

<That one.>

Dr Tantus(F):<Alright then. Have you two eaten yet?>

*Eve shakes her head*

Taiyo: "Okay."

Assuming she goes downstairs right away, the scene likely hasn't changed much. Renamon's still sitting, Lalamon is probably floating about near the ceiling and who knows about Guilmon. The only change is Loren not in the room, noises coming from the kitchen and Iori having left the room awhile ago.

Inopportune moment strikes when there's a knock on the door.

*Eve's father goes to answer it*

E"Guilmon, leave Lalamon alone."

G<But why?>

E"She's a lot smaller than you. You can't just tackle her or toss her around."

G<Okay, I think I understand...can I go outside?>

E"Hmm...if you can stay out of sight, & not talk to strangers, then I guess it's okay."

G<Yay!>

*And so Guilmon scrambles out of the door while Lalamon floats back onto the couch, waving at Euryale. Euryale smiles at her.*

E"If you need anything else, just call, okay?"

*Lalamon nods, so Euryale goes back upstairs.*

R"I wouldn't want to impose."

D<I would.>

R"Well, yes, that's why I never invite you anywhere."

D<I thought it was because I'm a talking dinosaur.>

R"Well, that too."

Taiyo: "Everything's okay then?"

Renamon follows him out as someone has to supervise that meathead and make sure he doesn't get his head stuck in something.

It's a pair of police officers, male and female.

Male: "Good evening, ma'am. We're here about some disturbances in the neighborhood."

===================================

Azuma: "This wasn't what you had in mind, was it?"

Hitomi: "No. It was likely unavoidable."

Azuma: "Probably. Being a Chosen One isn't all it's cracked up to be, is it?"

*Guilmon looks for some secluded spot.*

G<So you're gonna play with me?>

E"Yeah, should be fine."

Dr Tantus(M):<Oh, yes, sorry about that. A bit of a science project mishap. We'd be happy to pay for any damages.>

Dr Tantus(F):<We'll just go pick up something up.>

Taiyo: "All right."

Taiyo stretches out on the bed, looking like she might want to cuddle.

The frontyard is mostly concealed by shrubbery that goes around most of it barring the driveway. Renamon points in the direction of the backyard not saying anything about Guilmon's inquiry.

The female officer takes notes, periodically glancing around.

Male: "There were claims of strange creatures and a clown."

*Guilmon dashes up, pokes her, & then dashes in the direction of the back yard.*

<Tag! You're it!>

*Euryale remains standing, not wanting to make Aroma feel even more like a 3rd wheel.*

Dr Tantus:<I'm not exactly sure what to say about that. I'm sorry we couldn't be of more assistance.>

Now Taiyo just lays there. It is silent and likely awkward.

Taiyo: "What do you think that picture meant?"

Renamon plain ol' doesn't play fair and disappears, reappearing in front of Guilmon, tapping him on the nose.

Renamon: "You're it."

And she performs the same trick again, disappearing on to the roof.

Male: "All right. Thank you for your time."

And they set off.
