Cabin in the Woods II

"If we wait until tomorrow will you go out?" Eduj asked Vanessa. "I understand that there are monsters out there, but this could be the difference between all of us dying and making it out of here."

V"It's not that hard to find, just go southwest."

*Thiera turns the burner off & heads to one of the chairs & sits down with her food, also passing cans to Nero & Roatha. She takes notice of Euryale gazing longingly at it.*

T"The rest of you should probably eat something too. Oh, and Euryale should definitely drink some water."

V"You just said that we were running out."

T"Yes, but we can't expect her to heal without adequate hydration."

V"Could always leave the dead weight behind."

Sab was basically in tears when Hermione came back to life, "That was so good!"

Cameron:<If you were the injured one, would you want us to leave you behind?>

*Eve goes in the to the kitchen, and gets some food from Monu before returning to the living room*

Tirea:<Can you tell us anything else about how to find it?>

Eduj sighed inwardly and went to the kitchen to get some food to take back for Hector and himself.

Azuma: "I'd have no qualms leaving her behind. Grateful she isn't injured as she'd be more unbearable to be with."

Taiyo goes an retrieves Euryale's food and brings it to her.

V"I guess I shouldn't have told you ungrateful lot where the pond is, then. Could've just kept it all to myself."

E"Thank you."

*Euryale happily eats food.*

E"Why aren't you eating, Taiyo?"

*Aroma pats Sab on the shoulder with her free hand.*

"It really was, but it feels like it went by so fast."

Cameron:<Well, it's too late to take it back.>

*Cameron turns to the others*

Cameron:<Who's up for a trip to this pond?>

Eve:<I'll go.>

Cameron:<You need rest, so you should stay behind for now.>

*Eve shrugs*

Tirea:<I'll go.>

*Monu nods*

"Really?" Sab asked, "Felt like we were sitting here for a week."

Azuma: "And did what? Lord knows you won't leave the cabin which just leaves dehydrating with the rest of us like one big miserable family."

Taiyo: "I am."

Taiyo takes a bite of her own, grimacing because spam is awful.

V"I'd be willing to risk running into that thing if it meant lording my personal water supply over the rest of you. And I wouldn't go out there right now, unless you want to wind up dead."

"Well, should we go back to the dorm?"

"Yea," Sab said with a smile, "Lets go."

Cameron:<We'll wait till everyone's rested up.>

Monu:<You should rest too.>

Cameron:<Maybe.>

Azuma: "I'd be willing to stay here, risking dehydration then go out there. I bet I'm not alone in thinking that way."

E"...Actually, I'm rather thirsty."

*Her voice is raspy, & barely audible.*

V"Of course you would be."

*As they're walking out the door, Aroma grabs a newspaper from a stand, & tucks it under her arm for later reading. She then enjoys a nice, moonlit walk across campus with Sab. But she can't help but think that it would be better if there were still leaves on the trees. As they're walking, a disturbed rabbit runs out from the bushes, & along the path in front of them.*

Sab jumped at the sudden movement and pressed herself against Aroma, wrapping her arms around her. "S-sorry..." She said, pulling away, but still holding her hand.

Taiyo goes to get Euryale some water.

"Depending on the intelligence of the monsters, they may know that our water is limited in here," Eduj said as he passed through the living room with food. "If that pond is the only water source nearby, they may suspect that we will go there."
He continued on down the hall without listening to any reply and let himself into the room. When he found that Astarte had also moved to this room, he gave his food to her and returned to the living room.

*For the time being, the water pours out of the facet with no signs of trouble.*

V"Okay, I don't think she needs that much."

*Aroma is at first shocked, but then smiles warmly.*

"It's okay. You're a little jumpy tonight."

Sab blushes lightly, "It is a cold, dark night... I think it is spooky, don't you?"

Taiyo fills the can less than halfway before turning the tap off, glaring in Vanessa's direction.

"I guess it is kind of chilly, but other than that, the scenic grass, the lonely, quiet path, the soft, pale glow of the moonlight, it seemed kind of romantic."

E"Thank you, Taiyo."

V"What? You got something to say, Skanky?"

*Thiera shoots up.*

T"Okay, that's enough. I've kept quiet because we're all a little on edge, & to some extent, I do understand your concern about the water. Now, I think you've been mistreated a bit while you've been here, but that was way out of line."

V"So? Are you going to make me shut up?"

T"Yes. I am. Because if you don't back off, then when we finally do go out to get water, you're going to be the first to leave, & the first to check the cabin when we get back. And if you refuse to go, then you won't get anything that we bring back."

V"What if I hold the door shut until you cave?"

T"You can do that, if you feel confident that Nero won't set fire to the cabin out of spite."

*She glares at Thiera for several seconds, then heads over to an empty chair & sits down, arms still crossed. She wrinkles her nose at all of them, before looking away.*

Azuma: "We could also leave her with what's his name she maced. And confiscate her mace."

Eduj actually seemed a little amused by this, but made no comment. Instead he went about cooking food for himself.

*This is fortunate, because she turns to Azuma, who did comment, & tells him to be quiet. Eduj once again tries to cook food without a burner.*
