Episode Two: The Point of Absolute Zero

The fish goes from flapping around to twitching every now and again.

Patamon: "I don't know-"

He turns to Azuma.

Patamon: "Does he?"

Azuma: "I do now."

Taiyo: "My mom said it means sun. And that I was her sunbeam when I was little, always happy and smiling. Embarrassing childhood story."

Eve:<Can I borrow the thread?>

*Terriermon climbs up to Eve's right ear*

<(I think the others have got it.)>

Eve:<(I can't just sit here and do nothing.)>

"Look at us, finally coming together as a team."

"So why not Keiko or Yoko?"

A"Do you know how to sew?"

R"BANZAI!"

*Roatha casts the line as far out into the ocean as he can.*

The lines goes far enough out to make him feel good about himself without inflating his ego too much.

Taiyo: "I don't know. Maybe she liked it better. You don't like it, do you?"

Eve:<No.>

*Eve stares at the ground. Terriermon taps her on the ear, trying to get a reaction*

"I didn't say that."

A"I'm sorry, please don't feel bad!"

R"Why not prepare the food? The crabs are going to need de-shelled, the fish need gutted, &...you know."

Azuma: "Claws and legs don't require much. Just crack it open and enjoy."

Taiyo: "No...now I'm not living up to my namesake."

*Eve looks confused*

<Why would I feel bad? Anyway, since I have no experience fishing, I suppose I'll gut the fish.>

Terriermon:<You know how to do that?>

<No, I suppose it's time to learn.>

*Cameron fishes out more seaweed*

A"Oh, that's good."

*Aroma picks off a little bit of seaweed, shakes it free of excess water, & then just gobbles it right up.*

A"Yummy...you know, I'm surprised that none of you have ever had seaweed before. You should give it a chance. So good, nutritious, & it takes so little time to prepare."

R"Ugh, you're not one of those preachy vegans, are you?"

A"But...I'm not even a vegan...."

"That might be a good thing. If we were living up to our names, I'd be on fire, & have to gobble you up."

Azuma: "If we've had sushi, we've had seaweed. Covered in rice and not plucked straight from the ocean."

Roatha feels a tug on his line.

Taiyo: "I guess. Although I wouldn't mind if you nibbled on me a little."

Lunamon:<(I always ate around that part.)>

*Eve sits down by the fire*

<Roatha, could I borrow your knife to clean the fish?>

R"I suppose."

*He starts pulling on the line, gathering it up around his hand.*

A"Well, I admit, it is a bit salty. We could dry it out and then wetten it again in the snow, but that might take a while."

*Euryale is about to say something, but is distracted when Guilmon sneezes.*

Azuma: "It's getting late as is."

Azuma draws amd flips open his knife, handing it to whoever is asking to borrow one.

Roatha reels in a big ol' salmon.

Taiyo: "Bless you."

R"Shit yeah. I wish Euryale were here to see this."

*He grabs the salmon & begins trying to remove the hook from its mouth. Aroma stares at the scene in horror.*

*Eve takes Azuma's knife, and waits for Roatha to remove the hook from the fish*

The hook snaps and the fish is suffering even more. It's probably be more merciful to leave the hook in and brain it with a rock.

Taiyo: "I hope the others are doing all right."

Eve:<Want me to slit its throat?>

*Aroma wretches.*

R"God damn it, now I have to make a new hook...do fish even work that way?"

"They're probably torturing fish & resorting to living off of seaweed."

As he's presumably still fumbling with the fish, he cuts his hand on its scales. The fish probably views this as vengence as it slowly dies.

Azuma: "Looks like it'll be seaweed and crab."

Taiyo: "That's horrible."

Eve:<Are you alright?>

*She holds out her hands for the fish*

"Well that was just painful to watch" Hibiki sighs.

"Crab it is then."

A"Seaweed & crab sounds good. I mean, I won't be eating the crab, but at least I don't have to watch them suffer."

R"I caught a fish! Why are you all pretending that I haven't!"

*Roatha hands the fish over as he wonders quietly how he cut himself on something that isn't sharp.*

"But true. And you know we'll have to eat whatever they can 'catch' & 'cook.'"

Azuma: "It's not an impressive feat? Anywho, while you bleed out,.I suppose we move on to scooping up seaweed while...She guts the thing."

Taiyo: "That's true."

Taiyo looks embarrassed as her stomach growls.

R"So, where there's 1 fish, there's bound to be more."
